Trying to salvage an old 7730 for use on T-Mobile

I recently bought a well-used 7730 for $10 off craigslist. It came with the wall charger and the USB cradle charger.
The battery was dead, but I bought a new one for a few dollars off ebay. The device powered on automatically when I installed the new battery.
I installed my SIM in the phone (currently with Tmobile on an Android device) and it does make and recieve calls fine. The basic phone functions of the 7730 seem to work fine as does the screen and scroll wheel.
There are some issues with the device in no paticular order:
1. Several keys do not operate. The "0" key, the space bar, the enter key, etc. Also, the power button (little grey button with light-bulb style icon in lower right corner) does not work. I tried to do the battery pull and re-install and that does nothing to make the keys work. I carefully disassembled the unit and blew out lots of loose dust with compressed air. The scroll wheel works better now, but the some of the keys do not function. The inside of the phone was dusty, but there is no sign of water damage to the device. Can the keyboard circut board be cleaned with alcohol?
2. When I plug the device into my Vista laptop via the straight USB cable (not the cradle charger, as I don't have it with me), it comes us "device not recognized". Can the device be synced with just the USB cable or do you nee the charge cradle?
3. According to the settings on the 7730 I have, it is running BB OS 4.0. Is this the most up to date software the phone can support? What version of Blackberry Desktop do I need for Vista? When I went to download BB desktop from this site, it takes you to Version 6.x.x. or something like that. Does it matter what OS the handheld is running as far as Desktop versions are concerned?
4. My main goal with this 7730 is to use it for text messages, corporate emails and phone calls until I get off contract in 8 months at which time I will buy a new BB. I cannot get push email corporate email on my older android device and I see this 7730 as possibly the least expensive way to get the Blackberry experience.

Tab Killer is not created by Mozilla, it is created by a private individual who has made it available at no cost for other people to use.

Exactly the same problem with me.
Some other threads advice to remove fonts, clean the caches, remove add ins but nothing works consistenty, for some it looks like it works, for me it failed.
What I did not try yet, was to move the Render files out of the malicious library to trash.

You say you have the pse 5 disk?
I guess you do't have a dvd drive on your new windows 8 computer?
Do you have access to another computer with a dvd drive?
Anyway if you can find another computer with a dvd drive you could copy the pse 5 install disc to removable device like a camera card or flash drive.
You can also buy cheap usb dvd drives.

Problem-Starting InDesign Server for use with CORBA / Java and IOR file not generated

I'm trying to start Indesign Server cs3 for use with Corba, as per the document the server should generate the start-up message like this..
InDesignServer -iorfile c:\ior.txt -pluginpath Server\Corba
[server] Writing IOR to ... and it should generate the IOR file
but I'm getting the usual start-up message and the IOR file is not generated, I hope IOR file is required for Java component interaction with IDS, kindly help me to solve this.

It looks like the example command line in the "Intro to InDesign Server" pdf is using curly quotes instead of straight quotes. If you copy the command from the pdf and paste it in your command shell, it won't work because of the curly quotes.
You can run the command without the quotes as Rich has said, but, as will all command lines, if your path contains a space, you will need to put quotes (straight ones!) around the path.

Creating a DLL Driver for Use in VB

I am trying to export a dll file for use in VB. I used the build > dll option within my project to create a dll, but when I try to add the reference to Visual Studio, it says that it is not a valid assembly or COM component and I cannot add it. Is there a setting I should set in the build settings to ensure this works?

You aren't creating a .NET assembly or COM component so you are calling it incorrectly.

If your Apple ID was changed from your old account, you may have to change it back to your old account to be able to sign out and then change it back after that is done. Take a look at the article below for more information.

I recently updated my primary email address associated with my Apple ID account.
Now when I go to App store on my iPad it still tries to login to the App store using the old email address I had associated with the account, and naturally my password doesn't work. I can't figure out how to tell my iPad to login using the updated email address.
So in effect I'm locked out of the app store and I currently have 26 updates waiting.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my IPad to iCloud with no luck.. However I cloud happens to show the correct/updated email address.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Did you change the email for the Apple ID or did you create a new Apple ID? A new Apple ID cannot be used with content that was bought using a different Apple ID.

I am trying to change the email address associated with my existing account to free up my university email address for use in obtaining Creative Cloud. Every time I go to the account settings of my existing account (which currently uses my university email, as I set it up years ago and had no idea it'd eventually cause problems), I enter a different email to use for that account but I continuously receive an error message saying "account changes cannot be saved." It makes me think that it's because the email isn't verified (funny, it actually is verified since it has been the alternate email on the old account for years), but when I click the "send verification email" nothing happens (that is, no email is sent to that other email address).
Anyway, my university is now requiring that faculty create new accounts using our university email addresses in order to register/use Creative Cloud. Am I able to delete my old account, or can anyone help me actually change the email address associated with my old account without getting a "changes can't be saved" error?

depening on what OS you're running you should be able to reinstall it without charge since it's part of the operating system. if running 10.6.8 or earlier you will need to use the applications install disc if there is one or if you only have one disc you can put it in and do a reinstall of the OS which will put the iphoto back on. if running 10.7 or 10.8 can sign into the app store w/ the same apple id that is associated w/ the mac and it should show in your purchases for you to reinstall it. you may need to click on the accept button if it appears next to the iphoto in your purchase listing.

Did you import the old iPhoto library into the new one? That's not what you want to do because you will import all of the original, modified and thumbnail files as if they were original files. Lots of duplicates and useless small photos.
Do you have a backup copy of the library that you imported into to? If you do then bring it in and then use iPhoto Library Manager to merge the two libraries into a new, 3rd library.
If you don't then you'll have to try to fix the current one and then cull out the duplicates and small useless photos as follows: make a temporary, duplicate copy of your library and apply the three fixes in order as necessary.
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your HD/User/Home()/ Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your HD/User/Home()/Library /Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #3
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If this doesn't fix the problem you'll have to start over from scratch and create a new library from the files inside the Originals folder of your current library. But first you should cull out the small photos that would be the thumbnails from the 2001 library.
Move the Originals folder to the Desktop, open and do a search for Kind=photo, File size is less than 10 KB. That should find all of the thumbnail files which you can then drag to the Trash. You might have to make that less than 50 KB. Then Import the remaining photos into a new iPhoto library.

Free Up Old MobileMe Address, For Use As iCloud Alias?

Back when Apple were offering free trials of MobileMe, I signed up for the service and created an @me.com address.
Now that I'm using iCloud, I would to use that @me.com address as one of my aliases in Mail. However, the iCloud website says that the alias is already taken. Yes, it's taken because I took it years ago, for use with MobileMe!
So my question is, how do I free up that old @me.com to make it available as one of my aliases?

I tried to re-active my expired MobileMe ID as an iCloud account, by signing up to iCloud with my old expired MobileMe account and password. Here's what Apple's iCloud site had to say about that:
