Trying to Salvage Crashed HD Files...am I on the right track?

Alright. To make a long story short, my hard disk went kerput (not the physical structure, but the file structure or whatever corrupted). I haven't had to do anything like this since I was using OS9 so my OSX skills are crappy.
Anyways. Here is what I am doing..
I am making a read/write Image of my corrupted hard disk through disk utility (I am booting from the system software disc). The destination of the image is a new external drive I have which is large enough to store my old drive.
Once I have completed this, I am going to wipe my corrupted internal hard drive clean and reinstall.
From there I will then use DiskWarrior to attempt to salvage files from my corrupted disk image of my original hard disk....
Here is why I am going this route...I initially attempted to use the preview mode in diskwarrior to copy salvaged files to my external drive, but the external drive was incorrectly formatted and did not show up as an option in the preview. I guess what I could have done is reformatted the external drive and then go through the preview mode again. However I was becoming frustrated with the length of time diskwarrior takes to get through step 6!
Anyways...sugestions and comments please. I am extremely frustrated.
every mac I have had since 1995 has lost everything on the HD multiple times. This is the one biggest flaw about macs. We don't have those little crashes, but when we crash we crash hard. It is ******.

It has been my experience that if DiskWarrior can't fix it then a reformat of the disk is your only alternative.
The reformat will wipe out all data so back up first.

Run Disk Utility and try to verify/repair the drive to see if it reports and fixes anything.

Audacity > Preferences > Directories. You will probably need to use an external drive as it sounds like you Mac's drive is getting too full???

that is what I am trying to follow.
Is there more modules needed?
Did it work correctly?
It lacks information on how to add modules.
I got it working the first time by following multiple how tos and in the end I do not know which bits I done was needed and which bits was not and they did.
By the way. You did not answer the question.

Trying to run a batch file in ODI and the file is on a windows network drive.

I'm trying to run a batch file that is located on a windows shared drive for the ODI server. When I try to run the file through OS command by giving the file path in the "command line". I get the error "
ODI-1226: Step fails after 1 attempt(s).
ODI-1242: Operating system command execution fails."
Please let me know if this can be done.

Hi,
First try to execute your batch file, if it is executing as expected.
Then use OdiOSCommand tool and give full path of script and also give a path to create error file & out file.
Execute the batch now via OdiOSCommand, if it fails then you will receive error message in Error file.
Also check if you have rights to script being executed via ODI.

Hi I have just purchased a new iMac and I am trying to move my iTunes files into iTunes on the iMac. I have got as far as pasting the music folder from my pc onto the desktop of my iMac. How do I now put this folder into my iTunes?

When I export a AAF file from Protools 9 and Import the file into Logic ProX the drum track is out of sync. I created the drum loop using NI Maschine. Has anyone else seem this??

When I export an AAF file/project from Protools 9 using an external drive and import the AAF into Logice Pro X the drum track does not play correctly. It is out of sync with the rest of the track. I created the drum loop as a plugin using Native Instruments Maschine. Has anyone else had this problem?? Also how would I go about exporting the midi tracks from the Protools session. The midi track does not show when the file is imported to Logic Pro X. The midi data should export with the AAF file correct??

Process triggered by file upload - is GP the right tool?

Hello All,
I have a process I need to model that starts with a file upload from the user, followed by some manipulation of the file by some web services.
Is GP the right tool for modeling that process?
After completing the file upload action, how can I access the the uploaded file on the server?
Do I need to implement the file upload handling with Webdynpor?

Yossin,
Based on your requirement, the GP process would be to use File Input CO followed by Web Service CO (in that order). Consolidate the output param of File Input CO (which is the File Structure) to the input for the Web Service CO (which is also a structure). I dont think you need to save the file to the local drive. The web service should be able to consume the uploaded file (which resides in the process context).

Making sure .vi files are open with the right version

Hello everyone.
Here's my situation: I need to have LabVIEW 2010 and LabVIEW 2011 installed in my computer, as well as VI's of each of these versions. Is there any way to have Windows open the .vi file with the corresponding version of LabVIEW? I know LabVIEW 2011 is able of opening VI's from both versions but what I want is to prevent the scenario in which someone opens this file and saves the .vi in the 2011 version by accident, thus preventing me from opening in other computers where only LabVIEW 2010 is installed.
Any suggestions?

This seems like a good idea speksih, if one could only retrieve the file version with the same script and then probably hide the actual .vi file so it's not opened by accident....it could work.

Post a crash report..
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply including the, "binary images" section.
If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

Problem with Loader, trying to load multiple png files, error 1069 on the contentLoaderInfo

im trying to load multiple external png files from a folder. the path for the images comes from an xml attribute and i got no problem with the path. The error message pops on when i try to add the loader into an array for later use and then when im done remove each child i created. There is something in my pratice that is not ok , i meen i know im wrong with at some point ! Duh theres an Error message for each loader i create .. .

Trying to open a music file and I get the message "cannot open this song until the latest version is in use" (or words to that effect) - but we are using the latest version we have ever had, and the song was created using that version !!! Help !

I created a music file in my current version of Garageband (2.0.2) but when I try to open the file I am told that I must get the current version of Garageband ?!

What have you done, directly before this problem happened? Have you installed any other software, upgraded software, restored your system from a backup?
The error message can occur, if you have two versions of GarageBand, and now your Dock icon links to the wrong version of the program. Search your Mac for other versions of GarageBand. If you find another installation, check if the version is newer, then use that to open your file.
Another reason may be, that your current GarageBand Application is corrupted. To check that, try to launch GarageBand from a different User account - if you do not have one, create a new account from the System Preferences > Users and Groups panel (this panel might have been called something else in 10.4.11, sorry, I am using 10.8.2 now).
If GarageBand also does not launch from this account, reinstall GarageBand from your installation Media and upgrade - a link to the upgrade is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL454
