Trying to save A LOT of time with this...please help!

You guys are going to think I'm crazy
I love my bass guitar, and also my new Mac. So I decided I'd make some practice scales and stuff to follow along with in GarageBand. That was two days ago; I've made over 1000 scales since then. (I got to be pretty quick: I can make 15 scales in about 3 minutes.)
Here was my idea: make some scales at a comfortable tempo, play along with them until I've done all of them, increase the tempo by 10bpm and play them all over again. Repeat until 240bpm is reached.
It's going to take me probably another day to finish all the scales I have in mind. After that I just kind of thought that once they were made it'd be no big deal to go through and change the tempo on all of them and re-share them to iTunes. WRONG, the fastest way I can think of would be to remake all of them again. That is something I do NOT want to do. Which leads me to my question (finally):
Is there ANY way to change the tempo of multiple, separate songs, simultaneously? or even outside of GarageBand? (or even writing a short program that autonomously changes a line of code in each song file to alter the tempo?) And, is there anyway to mass-share a bunch of garageband files to iTunes so I don't have to open each one up individually?
I hope those questions make sense. In case anyone needs to know, I used a software instrument in the creation of the scales. Thanks to anyone who considers my problem here!

A bit late for this advice now, but hopefully you'll know what to do next time.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

You've moved stuff around so the tabs are at the top instead of my tool bar. I no longer have the means then to copy and paste, print, etc. when I pull up information I might want to keep from a web page. When I downloaded Version 4 a message came across from Firefox that the newer version is not compatible with the Yahoo toolbar. How then do I operate these functions? I'm not a techie, and was happy with my old Firefox. Not a happy camper now. Can you help???

Wow! You know, I tried a variation of that, which was a complete guess, and of course it was absolutely wrong.
I had no idea you could stack DATE_FORMAT one after the other! I researched this for a LONG time and nothing came up like what you suggested, so thank you for this! I hope that this thread helps others who are or will soon be in my shoes. This forum is the BEST!!!

Transport Studio import takes a lot of time...Please help

Using the Tranport Studio when I import the 3 .sca files into Development, it takes a lot of time from the 'Import Running' status to change to 'Import Finished' status
This period varies between 20 mins or 30 mins or 2 hrs as well.....
Question:
1. What is the ideal or acepted time for such an execution?
2. What can I do to make this process a little faster?
3. At times when I check the details one import process failes....Why is this?

1. That heavily depends on what you do, i.e. what is contained in the SCAs and what already exists in your track.
As you can see from the details importing an SCA means you import sources into DTR (if the SCA contains sources), then everything is built and finally deployed (if there is a runtime system).
Import into DTR can involve some heavy database operations. This step alone may take a few hours (e.g. SAP_ESS). Building depends on how much is changed and what was imported. If you import SAP_BUILDT usually everything is rebuild. If you import an SCA from another development track maybe only a few DCs are built. And then some DC builds only take a few seconds while others require several minutes (e.g. those tra/tre/tr* components in ESS.)
2. Optimize DTR & CBS performance. Check database for performance bottlenecks, put CBS temporary build space on a fast harddisk, make sure the threadPoolSize fits your hardware, etc.
3. You mean the import fails because you check details? I somehow doubt that, but I've seen in the past that the CMS request "fails" because of a timeout while CBS is still busy building things. I consider that a bug in CMS, but you have to restart the import to get deployment...
Can you elaborate what you mean?

Cannot install windows, starting to get really pissed off with this PLEASE HELP

ok, i'm starting to get agitated with this.
i cannot install windows XP, 2003, OR Longhorn on my machine.
right now, i have the following setup:
msi 865pe neo2 motherboard
intel p4 3.2ghz w/HT (factory HS/Fan currently)
1 dimm of PC3200 crucial DDR400
30GB maxtor HD plugged into primary IDE
pioneer dvd/cd drive as sencondary IDE

i do the following:

the farthest i can get is 'registering components/completing installation' i either get a blue screen stop error which isnt the same everytime, or it just locks up and doesnt do anything.
ran the memtest checker and get errors on test #4
i had a DIMM of kingston that gave the same errors, so i RMA'd it and got another. same errors, so i RMA'd again and got a Crucial stick. same errors.
so i RMA'd the motherboard since i figured it had to be that. and it improved from the problems i had earlier. (the problems i had before were worse before.)

thanks for the info about ram timings as well. i havnt gotten any solid answers about what to set it to.
even with new mobo and ram, i'm getting errors in memtest86 #4 test as i always have. i've tried different slots with same problems.
i only have one module because i dont want to waste anymore money on a non-working system. once i get it up and running i'll add another 512.

Installing Tiger 10.4 for the first time with 4Gb (PLEASE HELP)

Ok hey, I would like to install Tiger on my mac g5 but there is a problem I have about 4 GB of hard drive space left on my drive. Will this cause a problem? or will it actually free up space once I installed it.
I also have some files that I would not like to become altered (music songs in logic etc) when I install this system is there a possibility I could lose work or subject to structure change?

And HFS+ just hates having less than 15% free space, too. The more fragmented, the more likely you could lose the directory itself.
When you restart etc the system flushes any unsaved writes out to disk, and it could just die there.
At less than $0.50/GB for storage, buy some backup drives
And with 4GB of RAM, and swap files (files, they start at 64MB and double) it is unlikely during an install there will be ANY. Always good to restart before even running updates. RAM helps with the install to decompress files, not disk drive - because during an install, you are booted from DVD and it can't write to DVD or to hard drive for swap files. Temp files, yes, and usually it can be 3x larger than the file.
250GB drive should have more like 40GB free unfortunately. And that is based on MicroMat's in-house testing. They use to have a forum on MacFixit, unfortunately that is gone and moved to their own site and they didn't migrate their own thread discussions (wealth of info there I use to link to).

Lots of problems with safari- Please help!

My safari has not been working properly for the last few weeks. It started that when I went to open a new tab- the address I typed in tab 2 would open in tab 1 and change the page in tab 1 and tab 2 would say untitled page or something similar. Now I cannot open websites i.e. netflix.com imdb.com and other webpages are opening not formatted correctly i.e. amazon.com
I have cleared my cookies, emptied my cache and reset safari. I also updated my version of safari.
I do not know what else to do and am getting frustrated! Any help would be much appreciated!

Convert SSRS dropdown MDX query to INNER JOIN w/ NONEMPTY? Having hard time with this.

I'm having an incredibly hard time with this, mostly because I'm very new with MDX.
I created a simple report (with AdventureWorksDW) whose datasource is an SSAS cube. I select a datekey from the dropdown menu, and the report displays [Measures].[Order Quantity] for that day.
The problem is that the dropdown displays every single value from the dimdate dimension. DimDate goes from 20050101 to 20201231, so the dropdown is very long.
How can I alter the SSRS-generated MDX so that it does an INNER JOIN with Fact table and only the dates shown in the dropdown are the ones where there's data in the Fact table?
Currently, the fact table only has 2 days of data (20141015, 20141016), which means that the dropdown should only display those two dates. I'm including the generated code MDX that populates the dropdown menu:

you can get rid of blank data using nonempty function and get rid of negative values using filter function nonempty should be inside of filter so it applies first, otherwise it is too slow.

Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:

But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.

If this works you will see the normal desktop Once completely started up in Safe Mode, try to restart normally and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Click on the top hard drive icon in the left sidebar and note the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom right of the pane. What does it say?
Select the named boot volume in the left sidebar, ("Macintosh HD" unless it has been renamed). What is the hard drive capacity and how much space remains available on it? Repair permissions on it.
See if you are able to do a little hard drive maintenance to help things out.

I will try to cut my long story short : I am from Belgium and presently in Kosovo for a several months mission over there. I was really looking forward to use Apple iChat to stay in contact with my family and kids back home .... but it's not working !
I know there are other solutions eventually but anyway I'd like to understand what's the problem with iChat.
I came first with my Powerbook G4 1,5 Ghz + 1,2 Gb RAM + IceCam + OS 10.4 and "old" iChat on it : not working at all : it would keep saying "not enough bandwidth" for every sort of connection attempts (video, audio only) only text chat was working. I had read that there were lots of problems with this version, so I purchased LEOPARD to have the newest version available and upgraded my internet connection here in Kosovo to a 8 Mbps one !
Unfortunately I crashed my computer with the upgrade process ... anyway, the "advantage" is that I start now from a "clean" copy of Leopard and iChat .... but it isn't working neither ?
Now the message is slightly different though.
You see it's "trying" to get through (takes a little more time to issue the error message ....?) and it states now "connection closed because didn't get any answer for 10 seconds" (I translate the message because my system is in french in fact).
I have copied the details of the error message but can you tell me which part is important, not to paste 3 pages of unuseful text to this post maybe ?
It would be very kind of you if you could help me figure this out because I cannot think of a reason why "we" shouldn't get this to work, right ?
Furthermore, it would help a poor Mac user to stay in touch with his family "back home" !

This is a "paste" of one of the error logs : they basically all say the same thing I guess.
If needed (following a suggestion for example) I could try to come in contact with the support helpline of the company (although it's Kosovo ....) to try to "fix" or answer any technical question you should have without any other mean for an answer than "ask" ....
