Trying to sell Verizon iPhone 4s to South Africa...

I'm trying to sell Verizon iPhone 4s to a friend in South Africa but i want to make sure that it would work for him. What would i need to do if it is possible?

It won't work unless you get Verizon to unlock the SIM slot first, and even if it works your friend could not get any sort of service, in or out of warranty, from Apple in SA. I would strongly suggest you sell the iPhone to someone in the US, and for your friend to buy an iPhone from one of the authorized resellers in SA.
Regards.

I have an IPhone 4 that i am trying to sell with Flappy Bird installed. Is there anyway i can clear everything off the phone including my apple ID without deleting the app. Please let me know!

No.  Any apps will require your AppleID.  You would have trouble selling it anyway.

  • My friend is trying to sell his iPhone 5

My friend wants to sell his iPhone 5 16GB, but he's forgotten his iTunes information and can't remove his phone from iTunes
He rushed the set up of his iTunes account because he said he wouldn't need it (ha! wrong), as a result he has forgotten:
    - the email he used
    - password
    - security questions
Pretty much everything, he wants to wipe the phone so he can re-sell it, is there away of removing his iTunes information?

  • Using iPhone 4S in South Africa

As I said in the title, I'll be going to South Africa for 3 weeks starting later this month, and need some advice on how I should use my Verizon iPhone 4S while over in the Dark Continent. I will also be in Zimbabwe for three days, if that makes any difference. I'm going to be primarily using the phone for e-mail, texting, and checking in on Foursquare. I've done a bit of searching, and it seems like I have two options -- either to suck it up and go with an international Verizon plan, or to get Verizon to unlock it and try to use a microSIM card. I'm a little iffy on trying the microSIM card, since I don't think I can buy one over here (US) that will provide a cheap plan in SA. Anyone on here have any experience with this? Advice?
    Thanks.

Call Verizon. Those guys work with this stuff all the time and would give you the correct information on how calling/data would be utilized

  • Does Iphone work in south africa

I am close to getting an Iphone - am going to South Africa for a holiday and want to know whether it is likely to work abroad?

if it's not cdma then it should work as well as any phone bought in south africa
unless it's sim locked to a carrier in another country in which case you need to contact the carrier it's locked
to as to how or if they will unlock it

Hey I got my phone stolen yesterday, but it was dead for 24 hours before i checked find my phone so it says offline. I called verizon suspended my service and they said if the person tried to sell it back, or put their number on it, it will get flagged. I was just wondering if i should reinstate my service and try and wait for it to turn back on and then go get it because you need internet for it to track and with the suspended service, it can only track if connected to wifi, but they wont get past my password.

Where exactly did you buy the "new iPhone "
A country might help as well .This is a WW forum
Are Direct Mobiles an Approved Apple iPhone reseller if not it may well be a fake

  • I tried to activate my iPhone 4 with Verizon but they said it was already under an account. The phone was brand new, what do I do?

I recently tried to activate my iPhone that I bought brand new from eBay. I set up the phone so I could do everything with wifi but the other day, I called Verizon to get the phone activated but they said the IPhone is alreadyunder an account. I only set up my iTunes and iCloud on my phone. I contacted the seller and told them what Verizon said but she said the phone was already deactivated. What do I need to do? Or is there no hope? Help please

If the eBay seller said the iPhone was already deactivated, then that is an admission that it was not a new iPhone.  It was used and activated by another user.
Take your purchase receipt and the iPhone to a Verizon store, talk with their staff, and see if there is a way to get the iPhone removed from the other account.
This may take time as they will likely want to be sure the iPhone has not been reported as stolen.

  • HT4528 Verizon iPhone 4s (South Africa)

    Hi,
I've been off my Verizon contract as I live in South Africa at the moment because of work. I own an iPhone 4s thats locked to the Verizon network. Is there anyway I can unlock it for use with a local sim here?
    Louis

No. You're fully capable of using google. Or looking at the verizon.com web site to find one.

  • I have a Verizon IPhone 4 and i can't figure out how to get my ringtones from an app to my iTunes account, it doesn't have a tab for Ringtones! I have tried unplugging it and checking if would show up but it didn't, how do you enable the ringtone folder?

I have a verizon IPhone and i can't figure out how to get my ringtones from the app to iTunes, my account doesn't have a ringtone section in the liRingtone Folder?brary, how do you enable the ringtone folder?

Edit > Preferences.  Select the check box for Ringtones, this will add them to the listing in iTunes.
Not sure that really answers your question though.

  • South Africa - iPhone 4s - Verizon

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn off push notification capabilities to avoid int'l data roaming while traveling in South Africa?  I want to leave my phone active, but do not want my e-mail or apps to automatically update data and avoid HUGE International roaming charges.  I know I have the option of putting the phone in "Airplane Mode", but I wanted to randomly gain access to my emails, voice calls and Text messages.

No. You're fully capable of using google. Or looking at the verizon.com web site to find one.

  • IPad Air 2 comes with Apple SIM.  I have a Verizon data plan for my iPhone.  Does Apple sell Verizon SIMS or do I need to buy a SIM directly from Verizon?

iPad Air comes equipped with an Apple SIM.  Apple SIMs do not recognize Verizon (only ATT, T-Mobile, and Sprint).  Does Apple sell Verizon SIMS or do I have to purchase a new SIM directly from Verizon?

I guess I'll be returning to the Apple store to ask for a Verizon SIM because they did not give it to me when I purchased the iPad Air2 (I told them I had a Verizon data plan). Thanks.

  • Verizon service in Baja South, Mexico?

I have a GSM phone and was thinking of buying the $15 Mexico calling plan but I am told there is no or extremely limited Verizon coverage in Loreto and other parts of Baja South. Has anyone tried to get Verizon coverage there?

Hi, I am typing this on my laptop.  nancy and I both have Apple iPhones (5)
that are about 3 months old and working very well.  We can use them for
email and other transmissions on the WIFI of our hotel, but we have no
phone or message service as per the Canada-Mexico plan that we signed up
for, and which is showing in our account use indication (zero minutes used).
So, the problem is our RECEPTION of Verizon phone service here... we have
ZERO BARS (dots, actually) and the words above that spot on the home screen
    say "No Service."
I do not think we have what you call a 'port in from another carrier"...
but that is professional phone company jargon and I do not know what you
mean. I just know that we can neither make nor receive phone calls on
either phone ... and we also have no message function either.
Please let me know if we need to adjust any other settings on our p hones.
We followed instructions of Verizon/Seattle and the call-in customer
service and have TURNED OFF our cell data function, as we are not
subscribed for international DATA ... we get plenty on our WIFI.
We understand from other folks here in Puero Vallarta (Mexican state of
JALISCO) that they are getting Verizon reception.  The locals all seem to
    be on TelCel.
I look forward to your help getting the service we are paying for already
so that it works. The "dead" phones are a total mystery to me.

  • No joy for moving Verizon iPhone 4S to T-Mobile

My questions on this topic have been answered but I wanted to post back for the benefit of anyone trying to follow.
It has long been known that you could not use a Verizon (CDMA) iPhone 4S on a domestic GSM network such as T-Mobile.  The hardware is capable (more or less) but the phone is software locked against using GSM domestically.  But I had hoped the recent CTIA agreement amongst the carriers might have changed this situation and allowed me to use my wife's old Verizon iPhone 4S  on my T-Mobile account.  At one point both carriers told me that it should work and was not difficult.
That was bad information.  It is NOT POSSIBLE.  Although Verizon was helpful in getting my iPhone 4S enabled for international GSM usage, this was not sufficient.  My new T-Mobile SIM is rejected as "Invalid", just as it always has been.  I spent time on the phone with all 3 entities this morning and eventually both Apple and T-Mobile confirmed that the transfer of an iPhone 4S from Verizon to T-Mobile cannot be done.  (T-Mobile's "BYOD" page certainly does not divulge this.)
This was a huge waste of time.  I wouldn't have started down this path if the simple facts were available and the various reps didn't incorrectly keep encouraging me that it would succeed.  Your mileage may vary, but trust my experience:  I spent hours only in the end to confirm the old information that the change is simply not possible.
There might be some for-fee vendor that can make it work and I would love to hear about anyone that had success that way.  For now it makes more sense to give up and move on, and sell or trade the phone to someone that can use it.

Since the prohibition for use on a domestic carrier is flashed in the phone itself there is no way to work around this. None.
If you had called AppleCare in the first place or gone by the advice here you would have saved yourself a lot of time. Apple has no stake in who you use your iPhone with. T-Mobile wants your business.
Sell your iPhone but before you do put it in DFU mode (Google it) and Restore it as a new iPhone. After that turn off Find My iPhone in iCloud then log out from there and Settings > iTunes and App Store and turn off iMessage and FaceTime.
If you buy a used iPhone 5 you will need to ensure it is an AWS capable phone to use it with T-Mobile. The model numbers are the same so the only way you can test this is to make sure you bought a late model iPhone 5 Model A1429 or to try it with your T-Mobile nanoSIM. If you go with a 5c or 5s unlocked or T-Mobile iPhone you will have no such issue.
