Trying to separate headphone jacks to seperate outputs

Hello i got a dv7 laptop with beats audio, i bought it to dj with cause of the 2 headphone jacks and superior sound card.. anyways i use ultra mixer 3, i plug my pa system into one jack and my head phones to sample and cue tracks.. the problem im having is i can seperate the outputs, but instead of going to headphones it goes to the internal speakers instead.. how do i fix this, Oh its not my dj program either...

The WLC SFP port will negotiate to only 1Gb and nothing less.  You'll need a GLC-TX module to enable to connect an ethernet cable from the Linksys to WLC.

    Michael,
Thanks. I haven't mixed down the audio or checked the number of tracks in Prefs. Good points.
As far as a mixdown goes, I'll definitely give it a try, though I wonder whether or not the tracks will be recognized during mix down recording - given that you can't hear either of those segments in playback. Just have to try.
Re the preferred number of allowed tracks - I'll go check as soon as I send this off, but I'm not sure that applies in this case, since the two Channels containing the segments that are pinked out are not in additional tracks. I should have mentioned that other audio clips and segments on the same Channels in the SAME tracks ARE heard in playback. As are two additional track in the 2nd Sequence. It's only when the two sequences are joined that the pink tinted segments can't be heard. Within the sequence the same audio cuts playback as they should. Thanks again &
    Best regards,

  • HP Headphone jack with digital output

OK, so HP customer service is officially garbage. Everyone knows that, i just had to get it out of the way before anybody responds "Just ask customer service".  I have a HP Pavillion dv6724ca notebook with 2 headphone jacks.  I heard that one of them is a digital output jack for 5.1 surround and my sound card specs say that i have digital output capabilites (go DXDIAG.exe - Realtek Digital Output), but I cant get it working.  I have a 3.5mm mini TOSLINK to TOSLINK connected, i have enabled my digital output in Realtek HD Audio Manager, i have checked the supported formats in my Realtek Digital Output properties.....but still nothing.  Am i missing something?
    thanx

I don't think your model HAS the headphone/mini-toslink SPDIF jack, RE: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01443331&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_US... .  The HDMI port is SUPPOSE to support BOTH digital Video AND Audio... however I BELIEVE that there was/is some problems with the Audio side on some HP models.   BUT to be sure however, use the search facility to search on HDMI.  If everything is working according to spec (on the PC AND on your  >>>TV<<< ), you should ONLY need a single HDMI cable to do what you want ... but I fear you are going to run into problems.  Report back your findings.
    Good Luck.

  • Snd-hda-intel, no headphone jack sense on hp dv6704nr

I recently installed archlinux on my hp dv6704nr laptop, and everything works except for suspend2disk and my headphone jack sense.
I've pretty much given up on suspend2disk (suspend2disk haet nvidia), but I'm still trying to get headphone jack sense to work as it is a rather important feature.
I've done a fair amount of googling on the topic, and I've tried the modprobe.conf edit (options snd-hda-intel model=asus) with many different entries for model) and that doesn't help at all. It's a Conexant ID 5051, if that means anything.
I found something that appears to be a fix, but it involves recompiling alsa, and when I did that, it left me with no soundcard detected (cat proc/asound/cards shows no soundcards).
If anyone knows of a workaround, that doesn't involve recompiling alsa, that'd be great. If not...any tips on compiling alsa?/

I recently had a similar problem with snd-hda-intel with my dell vostro I bought recently. The problem was the opposite of what you had, ie the laptop always thought that my headphones were in and wouldn't work through the speakers. I found a very ugly workaround in the form of unloading the driver, reloading it incorrectly, then reloading it again. To automate it, I have the following in my rc.local file
    modprobe -r snd-hda-intel
    echo "options snd-hda-intel model=3stack" > /etc/modprobe.conf
    modprobe snd-hda-intel
    modprobe -r snd-hda-intel
    echo "" > /etc/modprobe.conf
    modprobe snd-hda-intel
WARNING: this'll overwrite (read: destroy) your modprobe.conf every time you boot. I'm ok with that since I normally don't have anything in there but if you do you should be aware. It's a really ugly workaround but it's the only thing I found that would get my sound card working.
Oh, one more thing. Since rc.local is read after all your other deamons, the alsa deamon won't set your levels right and all your channels will be muted when your system starts up. To do this manually, I added some amixer lines after all that modprobe hijinks to get everything sounding ok.

  • No sound from headphone jack -- here's what I've tried -- now Genius bar?

    Hi all,
Some time ago the headphone jack on my MacBook decided to stop putting out sound. I've searched a bunch of forums looking for clues but no dice yet. I've looked into a bunch of things trying to diagnose and fix this problem, which I'll summarize below:
In System Preferences > Sound the Output toggles between Headphones and Internal Speakers when I plug in and unplug the headphones, so I know the jack is responding. The mute button is not selected and volumes are up.
In Audio MIDI Setup > Properties for Built-in Output > Source: Headphones, volume sliders for 1 and 2 are up and not muted. (M is greyed and all the way down but I understand this is for mono.)
I deleted these files and rebooted:
    com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist
    com.apple.audio.AudioMIDISetup.plist
Now here's the crazy part -- my girlfriend has reported the headphones have worked recently with DVD Player. Earlier today it was working with DVD Player only to go out after hitting pause. I quit and relaunched DVD Player and they started working again. Hit pause and they died again; now after several relaunches nothing's happening.
So my next step is probably to visit the "Genius Bar" at the Apple Store. Is there anything else I can try that I've not thought of? I've seen a number of forum posts on this problem, so it sounds like I'm not the only one this has happened to.
    Thanks for your help.

Took this in to a repair shop and they ended up having to replace the logic board. Thankfully it was still under Apple Care.

  • No Audio Out Of Headphone Or External Audio Output Jacks

We have a Rev. B Bondi iMac that I recently put in my wife's 4th grade classroom for her to use. When trying to hook up external speakers I discovered there is no audio output from the side audio output jack or the front two headphone jacks when listening to the CD player. (I also checked using headphones)
The internal speakers sound fine and normal. I do hear something very distorted and weak from the external audio output jacks but it is so distorted the only way I can tell it is coming from the CD player is by pausing its playing. I have been into OS X now for about 15 months and am starting to forget everything I knew of OS 8.6 which is in the Bondi.
I checked the sound portion of the Monitors and Sound Control panel and all seems set correctly. Is there some other setting that I have forgotten? Any ideas/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    TIA

    Herb Mesler...
Other than exercising the jack-ports with a plug from a headphone, it may need some expensive repair. However I do have a trick for you to try first.
    Here is my trick;
Computer must be off! Because there is some light voltage applied to the ports they can slightly arch, spoiling the trick. Arching is the root cause of electrical resistance thus not allowing for proper contact and sound will not pass through to the device.
Next take a plug "softly and full travel" through each port in the side and on the front. I repeat them about 5 times. (any proper spec/type of plug, like from a headphone can work. If it from something that is powered, like from speakers, do not use it)
Boot up the computer and test by avoiding the side ports, using only the front ports. Quite frankly I found the use of the side ports to be somewhat the cause of the problem. Mine has been taped off for about 6 years now and I never have had to repeat my trick to date.
Give it a try and post back if there is any questions. Also, I would like to hear your results.

  • Dual use audio output HDMI and Headphone Jack on MacMini 2010

I am trying to use both the digital HDMI and analog headphone jack at the same time. My indoor home theater system use the HDMI and my outdoor amp and speakers are linked to the analog headphone jack.
Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to get both to work simultaneously like I had on my AppleTV. I was actually using the toslink and the HDMI on the ATV.
Anyone have any luck getting both outputs to feed at the same time, maybe by 3rd party software, on the Mac Mini 2010

  • No audio output from headphone jack?

I have no audio coming out of headphone jack on my 60 GB 'pod. Its songs will play normally through itunes but output from stereo jack is kaput. What gives?

Now this is an area that I am not familiar with.  I do not know what your audio source is (microphone, DVD player?) and exactly what you are trying to achieve.  You may have to use the Audio MIDI application so look at that to see what it entails.
I suggest that you start a new discussion listing your specific objectives.  There are fellow users well versed in this area, I am not.
    Ciao.

  • Audio output through speakers but not headphone jack

I have an HP Envy 15-J178ca. I am unable to play audio from my headphone jack, but audio plays on my speakers. When I plug in my headphones, the speakers stop outputting audio but no audio plays through the headphone output. I have tried multiple headphones which all work on different devices and was unsuccessful at outputting audio. I have updated my audio driver to the latest version using the HP drivers site. The following is a screenshot of the sound devices on my computer.

  • No sound, stuck on digital audio output, red LED only sometimes, headphone jack doesn't "grab" male end

Borrowing my boyfriend's computer after my own Macbook died, he had given up on the audio on his Macbook Pro as a logic board issue but I think it might be fixable.
System prefs for audio is stuck on digital output. The red LED from the headphone jack only shines sometimes (rarely, actually, but the digital output/no sound persists). No appearance of dust in the jack. What concerns me most is that the headphone male end doesn't "sit right" in the jack: rather than plugging in securely, it pops right back out.
I have a hunch this is similar to that little switch problem a lot of people deal with in the headphone jack, but the fact that the headphones won't plug in seems different. I've tried pulling the jack in and out and wiggling--no sound change, but the LED turns off and on sometimes. Any other ideas? Thank you all.

Possibly create a new user profile to test if it is a software issue. If it still has problems once tested on another profile it is most likely a hardware fault, and the only option is to take it to Apple. Honestly though it sounds more hardware related due to the power outage impacting it's performance instead of a program. Good luck buddy.
