i am wire to my ps3 and im trying to set up manually because when i do easy set up i loses speed and signal to much on the game and when i test my speed im not getting my 150/75 i get 8.7/15 or some time even worse but when i go manually i can't log in to multiplayer games so im looking for ip adress and mtu dhc so i can never loses my speed again. i want to enjoy my full fios speed on the games i chat with tech support the can help me i call sonny network the can't help the blame everything internet provider call the company the make the game the blame both. i need help or i will call this internet quick and go to the evil empire

Just use the "Easy" or Automatic setting on the PS3. The settings supplied by the router are fine and should allow you to hit the speeds you want. Just be sure you at doing a wired setup, and not a wireless setup. For speed testing, download a file using the PS3 web browser or from the PlayStation Store. The network test in the PS3 isn't always reliable, and I doubt it will deal with a 150M connection... unless you live in Japan.

If it's 'going to regular programming' then you are not navigating to the right input. You need to use your Samsung remote to switch the input to whichever HDMI port the Apple TV is connected to, refer to your manual if unsure.
To make sure it's secure means the cable has to be completely plugged in on both ends, if you can pull it out easily then that means it's loose.

Trying to set up 2 Airport Extremes to replace my old 802.11g pair.

I am trying to set up my extended Airport Extreme network with new Extremes to replace my older 802.11g pair.
Here is the situation: I have Cable 'net access that comes into my studio. It is then wired to the "Studio Extreme" into the WAN port. Then there is an Ethernet wire from the Ethernet port to a hub, which is wired through the wall to hub 2, that goes apx 500ft via CAT6 to my house. Then there is another hub that wires all the Ethernet ports in the walls of the house. Out of one port is AirPort Extreme # 2.
The Problem:
My old AirportExtreme #2 works fine. The new one won't play nice.
The Studio Airport is set to: Create A Wireless Network with WPA2 Personal security. It is happy with a green light.
The New AirportExtreme 802.11n is set to: Extend a wireless network with WPA2 Personal Security. It says Connect using: Wireless network.
I have tried to set it up with the Ethernet cable going into the WAN port, and the Ethernet port. When it is in the WAN port, it says "nothing is in the WAN port". When it is in the Ethernet port, it says It can't find the network. I have tried unplugging everything and turning it back on, in reverse order etc. When I bring the New Extreme #2 to the studio, it plays nice, but I suspect it is working wirelessly with the Studio Extreme. (?).
I have tried to set it to "Create a wireless network" as I have seen suggested in some forums. Still doesn't make it happy.
I also tried to let the software " replace the old Airport with the new Airport" . that didn't work either.
The Old Extreme 802.11g still works and is happy also. Its cable is plugged into the Ethernet port and it transmits throughout the house.
I am going nuts trying to get this to work! Why does the old one work and not the new one?

You got ahead of things here (and chose the wrong settings), but we can correct things.
Reset the AirPort Extreme again, please.
Then open AirPort Utility, select the AirPort Extreme, and click Manual Setup.
Click the Base Station tab under the row if icons to name the AirPort Extreme, assign a device password and adjust Time Zone settings.
Now, click the Wireless tab next to the Base Station tab and adjust settings as follows:
Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network (Extend is used only if you connect using wireless...and you are connecting using Ethernet)
Wireless Network = Same name as your "main" AirPort Extreme
Enter a check mark next to Allow this network to be extended
Radio Mode = Automatic
Radio Channel = Automatic
Wireless Security = Same setting as the "main" AirPort Extreme
Wireless Password = Same password as the "main" AirPort Extreme
Confirm Password
Click the Internet icon, then click the Internet Connection tab
Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
Click Update and wait 25-30 seconds for a green light
Very Important......Power off the entire network and wait a minute or two
Power up the modem first and let it run a minute by itself
Power up the "main" AirPort Extreme the same way
Power up the "remote" AirPort Extreme the same way
Continue powering up devices one at a time until everything is powered up
The network should now be functioning correctly.

Thanks for the advice King, but my newly bought iPad2 still isn't showing what the manual (downloaded from the iPad site) says. Also, when you say that there should be a "More" button in the music app (I assume you mean the item under Settings) I am afraid there isn't anything like that either. The page has iTunes Match, Sound Check,EQ,Volume Limit, Group by Album Artist and then the Home Sharing section with my Apple ID and Password. That is all. Maybe I need to find a better User Guide for 5.0.1? Your further input will be much appreciated.

WRE54G v3 - I manage to set it up manually but it crashes when I add security

I have attempted to set up the WRE54G via the cd but kept getting the "can not associate AP in repeater mode". I googled it and tried all the solutions suggested with no joy. It doesn't want to use the cd, I did it time after time changing things and nothing worked.
So I decided to set it up manually. I used this link http://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to,review-308.html to help me. It worked up to stage 9, when I attempted to set up WPA security like my router has. Once I set up the WPA security, I pressed ok on the window that popped up, and everything crashed. The window went to "can not find this page" - I had no confirmation that it had worked. I checked the wireless networks and no security came up on the network for the expander. Also the link LED stayed red on the actual wre54g.
I am a bit of a novice at this kind of thing, but I managed it before with my linksys router, but now I've had to change it nothing works! It is causing me a lot of stress.
My router is 192.168.0.1, its a sky sagem wireless router f@st 2420.
I changed my WAN to 192.168.1.239 in order to see my expander. I then changed my expander to 192.168.0.40 so that my router and computers and expander can talk to each other!!
Please help.

You could have followed that too closely. If your router is 192.168.0.1, you should make the RE 192.168.0.240 (not 192.168.1.240 like in the instructions). You don't need to change the WAN to XXX.XXX.1.XXX.
Edit: OK, I read a little closer and RE IP addy should be OK. Doesn't have to be 240 but make sure it is unique. Also, since you have been changing your router settings, please try a power cycle of the whole network. Bring the router up first, wait for lights to stabilize, RE next, wait for steady blue link and flashing activity, then clients.

Unable to set the apn manually about the hotspot iphone4 with ios7.1

Hello, I am writing in a forum and all the people who have updated their iphone4 ios7.1 to have the same problem, that it is impossible to set the apn manually.
Here in Italy with the carrier (wind), we have tried all kinds of recovery, and also to contact the carrier says that of course is not at fault, because his apn is always the same.
The solution is what? The only one I found is to use my old nokia and abandon my iphone4 with the hope that apple proceed to fix the problem ...............

When I insert the data apn and go back the data are not saved and therefore I can not use it as a hotspot, but if I insert the data to the cellular data network apn and mms, they remain saved and then I have no problem.
Only apn hotspots have this bug.
From what I understand happens with iphone4.

If you are using LELA delete it from your computer. It is not needed. Connect viw your wired computer to 192.168.1.1 username blank password admin (or whatever you made it) and configure your router manually.

I backed up my phone on i cloud and now I am trying to set up my new Iphone 5 from the i cloud. I have got all my data and some very important numbers in the last back up.
Now when I try to back up from the i cloud it is saying back up incomplete. PLease guys I need some help in order to restore the data back on to my phone.

If you get the error "Backup not successful" and you've tried deleting the last backup and trying to back up manually without luck, try the following test: Go to...
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options. Turn off all apps from backup and then do a manual backup. If that doesn't work, then this post will not help. If the backup works, then go back to the app list and turn some on and try another backup. If successful, keep repeating these steps. If it fails at some point, then try to zero in on the one app that seems to make the backup fail. (I had this problem and found one app failing, probably due to a corrupt data file.)
This process will take time, but if a backup works with no app data being used but clearly fails with the original settings, then somewhere in the mix of apps is a "bad" one.

I hope someone can help.
Bought an Apple Airport Express mainly because I want to stream my iTunes music from my laptop to my amp & stereo system which is situated in same room as PC but too far away for wires etc.
I DO NOT need to have wifi internet thru my Express just music.
Laptop: Compaq Presario CQ70
OS: Windows Vista
Location: Greece
When I "simply plug in the express (as per Apple's instructions) I just cant get it to do anything, I cant find it on my wireless connections on PC, it doesnt reboot.
Sometimes it can be found on a scan, but mostly not, I have tried to set it up with the software & with an ethernet lead connected, this seems to work but then it kills my wireless internet connection??????????? Does anyone know why it does this. Then when I try to reconnect to that wireless connection with my PC it tells me that the settings are incorrect & do not match those of my PC & I have to delete that connection & make a new one & then I get my wireless internet back.
I have tried resetting the Express with a paper clip & still not successful.
I have seen some pictures on the net with a "extreme Base station" too do I need one of these too just to stream music??
I do hope someone can help as I have bought & installed a great new speaker set up on top of this room & so desperately want to try out my iTunes music on them.

If I understand it right, you already have a wireless network set up and now you want to add the Airport Extreme. I have a normal wireless router (Conn-x Thomson) & I want to add the Airport Express to stream music (NB I dont have an Extreme base station; refer to my initial post r.e do I also need an extreme or am I just ok with the Express, I ONLY WANT TO STREAM MUSIC)
In a nutshell:
With the Airport Configuration utility, you should be able to find the Express. The airport config utility only shows me a "rescan" button, all other dropdowns are pale grey & not selectable, I guess this happens until you "find" the base station. Then you can configure your Express by letting it join the existing network. I can only do this is if I hook up my PC - Express by ethernet & then do manual set up, but I did select "join an existing network" & it still cuts out my wireless internet. The Express is plugged in my wall & still flashing Amber even after 3hrs
What I think is happening:
I think what you are doing is kind of creating a separate wireless network. If you do so, you constantly have to switch between two networks. That's why your wireless internet connection looks to be disappeared. See above paragraph I dont think I am.

When you see the Introduction screen, click Continue.

Trying to Set up Shaker Table

Hi Everyone, I am a beginner trying to set up Labview to remote control a Troemner Orbital Shaker table. I am trying to use the basic serial write and read. I think I have selected the correct port because when I read the *IDN?\r\n it reads 22 bytes and says the Product is in Standby. Which it currently is. However if I take it out of Standby manually. And try to write again I get "Serial Prot Error, Input again please" with 41 bytes read. The manufacture supplied a Interface guide however I am not to sure how to use it properly.
I try and input 'I=*' and I get the same Port Error. I have attached the manual. If anyone can help that would be appreciated.

The manual doesn't tell what "Standby" does or doesn't do, as far as the interface is concerned.

Can you do that repeatedly?
I mean, without taking the machine out of standby, does the message work again and again?
If so, then your comm link settings are likely OK.
If not, then perhaps there's something it doesn't like - maybe it wants \r instead of \r\n, maybe it needs some other delimiter.
If you have a terminal program, that might be a better place to start, just so you can establish the exact commands you need to send.
It's not difficult to write one in LabVIEW, or use a packaged one.
Just send whatever you type out the port, and whatever you receive, display it.

Trying to set up RAID on GNBMAX-FISR

Am building machine - P4 2.8Ghz, 2x512Mb Corsair CMX-512-2700C2 RAM, CD and CD/DVD.
Trying to set up RAID using the Promise built in RAID controller with EIDE drives. According to the manual, you attach a single drive to the RAID connector (IDE3) and I assume the other drive to one of the other two IDE connectors, boot machine and do the CTRL+F to enter the RAID setup. It only see's the one drive, never the second one. I tried to install from scratch, using the "F6" option in the XP install to install RAID drivers, but didn't work. I am going to try installing XP on both drives individually, then conect to the RAID and see if it was just a driver install issue. Anyone out there set up a RAID n this board? The only other RAID I set up was on a PCI card RAID controller.

Thanks for the reply. So if I am understanding you correctly, I HAVE to use the SATA connector(s) regardless of if I use the IDE3 for one of the drives? Or like you say, just get the adaptors for both drives and run them on the SATA to get my RAID 1 array set up?

I have a Comcast router plugged into the WAN port of my AEB; the LAN port is plugged into a small Netgear switch. An IP phone with a built in switch is plugged into the Netgear, and the G4 is plugged into the phone.
I am trying to get the AEB to use DHCP instead of sharing a single address, but it tells me I must assign the IP address manually. Am I assigning an address from the router's subnet or the AEB? I am trying to set up my IP phone and the AEB sharing creates a conflict that will not allow the phone to initialize.

If your Comcast box really is a router and not just a modem, the proper setting for your AEB is to "bridge". The Comcast box should already be providing the DHCP function. All your AEB needs to do is to connect the Comcast DHCP server to the rest of your network.

NOOB trying to set up file sharing on Mac Pro. How do I do it???

I've just unboxed a new Mac Pro that has OS X Server installed on it and I'm trying to figure out how to set it up as a file server. It has 2 TB (4x 500 GB) of hard disc storage that I want to make available to two other work stations.
The three macines are already networked via an Airport and are sharing internet, etc. I've been able to set up AppleTalk, but that only shares public folders. I'm trying to set up the more advanced sharing features offered by Server.
I've been scouring the help section of OS X and here on apple.com and so far haven't been able to figure it out. Can anyone out there be so kind as to give me some tips or at least point me in the right direction? Thanks.

In summary, you use the Sharing panel of Workgroup Manager to create a sharepoint, and to set the permissions for your users. You can read all about it in the File Services Administration manual, which is part of Apple's documentation:
