Trying to set up a joomla test website - can't get beyond database set up.
Hi. I am new to Mac OSX server, and I purchased a mini with 10.6.3 server so that I could build and test some websites locally.
I am trying to install Joomla, and i can not get past the database configuration page.
I am new to Apache / MySQL / PHP / Unix etc... I used Navicat to "create" (I am also new to navicat) a database named Joomla. I also created a user in Navicat called testuser, and gave the user a password. I also THINK I gave that user all privledges. But when I select Next, the page does not give any warnings, it doesn't even seem to refresh, but I can't get anywhere beyond this. I am not even sure what logs to check for errors, or how to get beyond this point. Any advice? Did I not set something up that needs to be set up?

Joomla is easy to set up (install) once Mysql and PHP is properly set up. CMS (Content Management
System) websites are the way to go. I am migrating all my sites to CMS, either full CMS or Partial
CMS. The Server Guys (and Girls) can help you get it set up properly. If you don't want the hassle
of configuring MySql and PHP on your Mac, use the preconfigured MAMP setup:

I am only interested in the final product (the website), so I chose MAMP to handle the database and
scripting language (PHP) chores. MAMP can be Installed, configured and up and running in minutes,
leaving me free to develop and make ready my sites for uploading to their eventual home on my
hosting provider's server.

After you download '''Firefox Setup 3.6.3.exe''', you must double click on this file. Usually, you can find this either on your desktop or in your Downloads folder.
Your Downloads folder is located inside Documents. -

I have an iPhone 4 and my lock button is jammed and I also can not touch anything on the left side of my screen well as any pop ups from the phone itself, so i can not get past the set up stage in reset process...how can i fix it/can it be fixed?
Make an appointment at the genius bar and get the phone replaced.

I am trying to setup my ipad 2 but I can't get back to the wi-fi connections section. How do I get there, nothing is working.
The Wi-Fi connections section is in Settings > Wi-Fi
If the home screen is not visible tap the Home button, the button on the front of your iPad that has the rounded square in it. Once you reach the Home screen swipe through the screen of apps until you find the Settings app. Tap Settings and go to Wi-Fi.
If your iPad is completely non responsive, try a restart.
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep button simultaneously ignoring the red slider. Keep holding until the Aple logo appears and your iPad will restart.
The sleep button is on the side of your iPad on the side opposite from the Home button. -
When I try using Airplay to stream from Amazon Prime it tries to use Apple TV music. How can I get it it stream movies from Amazon Prime?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore) -
Just got a new computer and none of the music from my old computer's itunes transfered when I transfered the contents of the old hard drive. Now I'm trying to transfer music from my ipod and can't get all the files....help please?
The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You may be able to purchase a third partyn program to get the rest ( not supported by Apple) -
Im trying to install the CC installer on my new MacPro. When the installer loads it says there's a "Download Error" and can't get beyond that. Everything work fine on my old Mac. Any Ideas?

My newly updated iPad 2 wants an email for the apple ID. My apple ID is not an email address. How can I get past the set-up screen?
I can't change my Apple ID. It would mess all my stuff up.To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone (if you're using iOS 7), then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I just want to use the phone as a web browser using wireless, I don't have verizon, I can't get past the set-up screen. Can I use the phone without a verizon account?
I took it to Verizon and a counter person got it to work. she said one has to be persistent and eventually the screen goes away that was demanding the phone number I didn't have, it works now I'm happy

And, you are sure you have provided the correct username and password for you email account? I'm not familiar with Virgin media, so you might contact their tech support to find out why you are having a problem sending mail but none receiving mail. I assume your mail account has always been POP3 and not IMAP. Typically, the outgoing mail servers are not the same for the different types of account service.

I took my mac to an iStore in South Africa however my country does not have an iStore. Macbook upgraded from 10.5.8 to mountain lion. I lost the update when I tried to restore my old information. How can I get my update back without paying again?
Ok, that sounds like a valid approach...but now the question is, when you say you lost the upgrade when you tried to restore, exactly what do you mean? Restore from a Time Machine backup, or another kind of backup? What happened to the operating system when you did that?
If it damaged the operating system, you should be able to recover it by restarting your computer holding either the Option key (should result in a grey screen that shows the macintosh hard drive and a recovery hard drive), or by holding the Command and R keys while starting.
You can use the recovery hard drive to reinstall Mac OS X either way. If the Option key restart, click on the recovery hard drive to boot from that.
Then with either approach you will have a screen with a drop-down that gives you choices, such as install Mac OS X, Disk Utility, Terminal. You will want to use Install (or Reinstall) Mac OS X...note, you must be connected to the internet from this point on. -
Trying to start developing but can't get the compiter set up correctly
Hey guys, I'm following the starling tutorial step by step (http://tv.adobe.com/watch/starting-with-starling/starting-with-starling-introduction-and-s etup/" but I always keep getting errors no matter what, seems like I just can't get the sources/new libs to work correctly...honestly I don't even know how to get the standard libs working but I have programming experience so I'm familiar with functions and arrays etc.
