Trying to set up E3200 as WAP - browser connection problems

Trying to convert a spare router (Linksys E3200) into a wireless access point to
extend my wireless coverage. I thought knew how to do this but having a problem.
Steps I followed are:
1. Disable the E3200 DHCP server
2. Change E3200
ip address from 192.168.1.1 to something else
3. Disable the firewall
4.Make wireless settings
5. Connect it lan port to lan port with primary
router.
The problem I am having is that after I finish step 2 the router
reboots with the browser trying to access it at the new ip address. But the
browser will not connect.
I am doing this on a laptop that is disconnected from my network while I am working on the E3200. It is connected by
an ethernet cable to an E3200 lan port. I also tried it wireless with the same result. Browser will not connect at any ip address except 192.168.1.1 and then only after I factory reset the beast to regain the 192.168.1.1 ip address.
What am I missing?

What I ended up doing was to connect it to the main router and then log into the E3200 admin. Doing that I could see thet the main router DHCP had assigned the E3200 a new ip address (.133). Then put in "bridge mode" saved, and was able to log back into the management interface. Then I turned off the e3200 dhcp, changed to static at the ip I wanted it to be (.254), made wireless settings, saved it again, and am now able to access the device at .254. So it all good.

Encryption wouldn't matter except for Wifi.
While 10.2 might help, there's not much you can do on the Internet these days with less than 10.4.11

Suddenly after my browser was asking for save&quit for multiple tabs, it stopped this to appear again.so i tried to set it again but no browser.warnOnRestart

I am trying to set Firefox as home page-browser. Please advise?

Words in the "Question" window above pretty much say it all; earlier this afternoon 10/10/2014 a really odd thing occurred I cannot explain clearly but it caused me to try to set Firefox browser (search engine) as home page...possibly I should have typed "Mozilla," but I do not quite know...
Detail: I should likely say that I am using W8.1 which I hate but am trying to learn.
Could someone please tell me how to go about setting FM or is it just "M?" Every article supposedly explaining the process starts out with "Open Mozilla," and truly I do not know how one does that in this new OS.
Someone tried to tell me that FM or is it just plain M is NOT a search engine browser thing. Hoping that person was wrong!

Wifi / browser connection problem with IOS 6

With IOS 6 and iPad 3 or Iphone 4, I can't connect to my enterprise wifi anymore.
I connect to the network without any problem. But afterward, within Safari where I'm have to put login and password (trapeze networks btw), it blocks on "submitted" and don't proceed further.
While with IOS 5.1.1 it worked perfectly and with my Blackberry, I don't have any problem today. I suppose a IOS 6 bug...
I tried to put the proxy http on auto.
I tried to reboot the idevices.
Both without any improvement.
Any idea?

These steps/ workarounds were defined as follows for the difficulties experienced with IOS6 clients. These have been tested using Juniper / Trapeze MSS software version 7.6.x and above
1. Set web-portal ssl-mode <none/full>
Was to set the ssl mode to none or full(both work OK for the IOS6 devices)
Since there are concerns with the security, please try if the ssl-mode turned to full brings a change.
2. Set web-portal force-html-login mode disable
This command requires users to login through a Web portal page. The current implementation of Web portal on the Juniper WLC/Trapeze MX includes specific handling of Apple's iOS devices. When a request for for this URL is sent, the WLC responds with a spoofed HTTP response including the anticipated 'Success' page contents. This was implemented as a workaround to an earlier problem with older versions of iOS. In the current iOS, if the requesting device does not get the anticipated response the iOS device. automatically opens a Web browser interface and then the web-portal login page.
Juniper engineering are anticipating the fix on the next maintenance release of the MSS.

We Browsing Connectivity Problem

Every so often (maybe once / hour) web browsing will come to a complete halt on our 2010 MacBook Pro / running 10.8.2. This happens regardless of what browser is being used. During an outage I can still ping and run traceroute, and get reasonable numbers in return but things like Facebook messaging and browsing are on hold.
Our DNS settings are set at the wireless router level to the OpenDNS servers. Applying them at the computer level in Network Preferences did not resolve the issue. Nor did deleting all wireless settings and upgrading to Mountain Lion from Snow Leapoard. Both user accounts are affected, but other devices on the network (iPod touch and Android phone + desktop PC hard lined to the router) are not.
This seems to affect only browsing for some reason - I can still get mail and see outside our network when I ping various locations. Any idea what might be the problem?

Sincere apologies for the issue you hit - we feel passionately about the ability of our software to connect people to one another, and when failures like this occur, we know it's a deeply frustrating experience. It pains me personally when our user experience isn't a positive one.
For a little perspective, we've had a handfull of reports of this issue occurring on rooms that happened to be open during a window of about 20 minutes last Friday (yes, weirdly specific and yet vague, I know). PHP, RAC, OCI8 Slow trying to set up HA

I am trying to set up a php application to connect to an Oracle 11g 2 node RAC. I have set it up with PHP 5.2.8 and 5.2.10.
php 5.2 comes with the oci8 1.2.5, and when I was running that version connections were quick and responsive. My test script which forks 10 "users" and connects to the web app 10 times each would complete in less than 20 seconds, however, when ever there was a db failure, some of the connections would, presumably because they are waiting for a connection timeout before letting go. needless to say this was counter productive.
I upgraded the oci8 driver to 1.3.5, and the failovers went much smoother, the problem was when I started load testing, I realized something was not right. The same set of tests that ran in under 20 seconds now took over 6 minutes to complete. I have absolutely no idea where to start with this. This is my first project working with oracle, so I am not really familar with the connections, and failover.
Some of the details are as follows, and if there is additional info that would be helpful, please let me know, and I will post what I can.

I'm having similar problems with PHP 5.2.11/5.3.2, OCI8 1.3.5, and RAC 11.1.0.7.
Using DRCP pools with FAN enabled.
PHP OCI8 connections work but when website is idle for more than 60 minutes the initial connection (oci_connect statement) takes about 8 minutes.
BTW: Firewall is zoned and web and db server sit in different zones. Firewall terminates idle TCP connections after 60 minutes. DRCP port range 1024 65000 is open.

How do I set firefox as the default browser in Windows Server 2012 Group Policy Editor?

Hello, I am unable to set firefox as the default browser despite multiple different attempts to do so using group policy.
I have:
- Set a registry command (targeted at 32/64 via a WMI query) to reset the opening command as shown below:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\http\shell\open\command
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -osint -url "%1"
- Set a powershell logon script to run (that does run):
firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser
Despite setting the above it seems the client computers browsers are not affected by the settings above. When the script runs or if I run the command above a UAC window pops up and requests that I accept the command (for the setDefaultBrowser) but even if I click yes as an administrator it does nothing.
Since GPO in 2012 has changed perhaps there is something that I am missing? Do I need to somehow disable Windows Internet Explorer from achieving default browser status?
Please do not reply if you will suggest that I use Internet Explorer Maintenance (since this function in GPO has been disabled since IE10)
My DC is Server 2012, my client computers are Win7 32/64.

Hi everyone, I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I have been very very frustrated by this problem. [I could not create new windows, and anything that opens new windows, such as trying to see what Add-ons you have etc would not work]. I read about changing screen alignment to the top... I have one screen so the option does not exist. The above messages would not fix this problem. I searched hard and did find a solution in the end. I read stuff about removing Add-ons until the problem is fixed, but its simply not the case.
First of all open Firefox. next go to options: Help --- 'Restart with Add-ons disabled'. Tick the box for add-ons, restart firefox. Next go to Tools --- Add-ons. Next (In the Add-ons Manager' click on 'Plugins' on the left hand side pane. Look for the small blue writing that says 'Check to see if your plugins are up to date'.
Now notice it should say 'Missing Flash'. "For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version". I followed this, reinstalled Flash and it now works as it always did, no problems. For people where the above fix didn't work, try this one out. Hope it helps people!

Trying to set up my Printer for IP.

Hi, ive been trying to set up my iMac to work with my printer that has a IP set up already.
The printer is a HP OfficeJet 6110.The printer is currently set up to work with my two windows based machines. One being a desktop and wired, second being a laptop over IP. Both print to the machine perfect.
Now when I try setting up my printer on my mac I open up my Print and Fax window, then go to my Printer Browser. Right away it finds "P1", which is the name of the IP printer. It then sets it up through Apple Talk, its location being Local Zone. Then it goes to the option of "Print Using". First as Auto Select it sits and tries to find the printer. I once left it running for an hour with nothing. The i go to HP, and my printer is not listed.
Last I set it up as Generic PostScript printer, it works and I extit. I try to print something and the printer begins to run. But when it begins to print it is all symbols and random words.
If anyone could help me I'd be very happy.

Why is it set up as an AppleTalk printer? I thought you said it was an IP printer.
You need to open Printer Setup Utility and click on the Add button. Select the IP Printer icon in the toolbar. Select Line Printer Daemon - LPD from the Protocol drop down menu. Enter the printer's IP address in the Address field. Enter a short name for the Queue field (e.g., Officejet_6110.)
From the Print Using drop down menu select HP, thenlocate and select the printer driver from the list. Click on the Add button.

the scenarion maybe like this, there is a menu and each item on the menu when chosen will open a wap browser directed to a certain wap site.
so if there's is an item for Yahoo! Mail, wheh user click it. the wap browser would open the yahoo mail site.

I'm trying a similar thing (open the default mobile browser with the command line platform request). I works, but I tried it on different emulators, and they don't react the same way. For exemple with the Nokia SDK series 40 (standalone and with WTK2) the midlet is first running and I have to exit the midlet before I am asked if I want to go to the url.
What can be the reason ? Is it possible to force the browser to be openned and have the midlet running background ?

I am unable to set waterfox as my default browser

My operating system is Windows 8. I have tried all that was recommended here and nothing works. When I try to set waterfox as my default browser, nothing happens. Every time I go online it tells me waterfox is not my default browser. This has only been in the last couple of weeks, so I am guessing it has something to do with the last update, but not sure. Either way, before the update it was fine, after the update it was not.

Sorry you are having trouble signing up for an ePrint account. I would recommend trying a different browser (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, Safari) or a mobile browser (iOS, Android, etc.) to see if that helps.
