Trying to set up Firefox Sync and it says my email address is already in use, but won't let me sign in.

I'm trying to Sync Firefox between my new Android phone with my Macbook Air. It tells me I need to create an account, but says my email address is already in use. So I try to put in the codes in the three boxes, and it leads me back to set up a new account. How can I reset this? How do I proceed?

    Are you trying to call yourself to test FaceTime?  If so, you must have a second E-Mail address registered with your Apple ID.  In other words, there must be a different E-Mail address on each unit.

    I hope you are having a great day and sorry to learn that you are having this issue.
    Let's try this -
    To help you better I will need to know the following;  What printer do you have? Please include complete printel model.
    It may help later if you let me know what (OS) Operating system you are using.
    For a very complete list of troubleshooting steps in regards Eprint go to this article Click here.
    Before you try any troubleshooting steps do the following;  
    - Erase all cookies and browsing history.
    - Do not include signatures in your email.
    - Restart the computer.
    I will also take the following general steps to ensure that this is not creating an issue.
    - Set an Static IP address to the printer. Depending on your printer model will be the procedure to do this.
    - Use Google public DNS servers which are 8.8.8.8 and alternate Server is 8.8.4.4 the way you set this is
    Also this is what I heard from other members of the forum.
    I heard here (other members of the community) that there is an issue that engineer are working on diligently that may be affecting this particular process. At the same time I know that other members have some success using this steps aforementioned.

  • After finally getting my imac from fedex,  cannot get past the Update Apple ID and to use ICloud I have to change my app  id.  okay, but the red keeps saying that email address is already being used.  is it because I am on the apple site on a netbook pc?

    On the Update Apple ID screen to use ICloud, I get a red message that email address is already being used.  It does not accept my email address?  I do not understand what the screen is asking me.  Is this because I am using the apple ID on a netbook for this note or what. 
    Is there a way to bypass this screen if I don't want to use ICloud?  I don't want to screw up the original setup of my imac.  If I could get to the desktop, then I would know what OS and programs are in my machine.

    hello aaronmcl4, go to ''firefox > sync > setup sync > i have an account > i don't have the device with me'', fill in your account name and password and click on "i have lost my other device" in order to initiate a reset of the recovery key.

    Ipod needed to be replaced because of a bad display.  Now I can't get into Facetime.  At the Apple store no one said I should sign out before I handed the old iPod over to them...

I also can't call the helpline because it won't let me leave this screen on the phone that says "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable.     I've created 3 alternate e-mail addresses and tried creating new accounts.

  • Unknown error when trying to set up Firefox Sync

    I try to set up Firefox Sync but as I fill in my e-mail address on the first line i first get the message "invalide e-mail account" (or similar) but then when I continue to complete it with [email protected] it just says "unknown error". I have tried several different e-mail addresses on two different computers but the same annoying unknown error message keeps coming up.
    What am I supposed to do about that?

    To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  • I set up Firefox Sync and then imaged the computer, am I boned?

    I was under the impression that I could use this as a back up tool and didn't save any of the bookmarks manually.
    It wasn't clear that I would need anything other than an account and password when I set the service up. Really hoping that I am not ephed as I had meticulously built these bookmarks up over time including numerous search shortcuts. Please, please, please say that I have some chance here.

    Having a backup copy of the sync key is essential.<br />
    For the name you can use the email address and a new password can be requested, but without the correct sync key your data on the sync server is lost.

  • I'm trying to set up firefox sync but the "set up sync" option under Tools doesn't exist.

    I saw this question was posted previously but no answer was given. Under Tools, I only have the option to click Sync now, but nothing happens when I do. I'm also not aware of having set up a sync about previously.

    Enabling HomeSharing on a computer doesn't make anything to appear on the left bar.
    You need to setup at least two computers and have both running iTunes, then the iTunes side bar will show you the shared libraries.
