Trying to set up new Apple ID - email verification NOT working

Hi all,
Just a quick query:
I've purchased a new iPhone 4s today and am having trouble setting up an Apple ID.
After following the email verification link sent to my GMAIL account, I entered my Apple ID and p/w, and it returned the following message:
This email address is already in use or you may already have an Apple ID associated with this email address. Please try again or sign in using your existing Apple ID.
Thinking perhaps I'd set one up previously and had just forgotten the details I then set up and entirely new email account - this time with yahoo. And after following the same steps I was again faced with the above message!
In another twist, I've set up yet another entirely new account - this time with hotmail - and now, I'm not even receiving the email verification to my inbox.
Would appreciate any and all feedback as this is extremely frustrating! Cannot download any apps/music/anything without an Apple ID!!

I have been attempting this since November 17 in the evening.  I've been trying to get help on the support line but no one is helping.  I get the same message not matter what e-mail address I try to use to set up an Apple Id.  We tried in my name with my e-mail address and my husband's name with his e-mail address.  When the e-mail comes to verifty, my results are:   "This e-mail address is already in use or you may already have........"  Same problem.  Has anyone been able to get some acknowledgement from support that there is a problem?

    Hi everyone!  I am trying to set up my new Apple ID in itunes to be able to make purchases.  When itunes gives me the message that "This Aplle ID has not yet been used with the iTunes Store", I am clicking "Review" to try to get to the screen where I can add payment info.  When I click on "Review", nothing happens and it does not sign me in - the dialogue box just dissapears.  What am I doing wrong, and how can I fix it?

    Did that, but when wanting access to the iCloud to store and sync etc.. it defaults to the old account which I can not delete befor I verify it ---- cant verify it cos I dont have access to the email!!! Catch 22

  • When trying to set up my Apple TV it will not accept my apple Id

    We are trying to set up our Apple TV and when we are setting it up it will not accept our Apple ID and Password.  Any ideas?

    I don't understand what you are setting up using numbers - or letters.  If it's a passcode, then you can translate the letters into numbers as you would on a telephone keyboard - for example, an "S" would be a 7.
    But that may not matter, as the process for setting up voicemail is strongly tied to your cellular carrier.  If the above doesn't answer your issue, contact your cellular carrier for setup assistance.

  • Apple ID email authentication not working

    Hi - My husband has been down a rabbit hole of nonsense ever since restoring his iPhone. He's been locked out of iTunes on his phone b/c it says it's associated with another device. Suggested by Apple to create a new apple ID and change on devices. Now he can't get in, PW reset questions say he has wrong answers, and email authentication emails never reach his inbox. Trying old and new IDs. I tried to have email auth sent to my email using my acct ID and it doesn't come. Checked spam. Checked Apple and Apple ID service is not shown as being down. Btw - he paid $20 for phone support and was disconnected after being on hold waiting for a supervisor for 30 minutes. Ready to go to Android. Both of us. His contract is up and mine is up in Nov.

  • New apple keyboard Fn keys not working

    Posting this in PowerMac G5 and OSX Tiger as I am not sure if it is a hardware or software issue.
    I just recently bought a new aluminium apple keyboard and am very very happy. EXCEPT:
    When I first plugged it in, all the hotkeys/fn keys (the default ones such as play/pause/skip track/volume/brightness) all worked fine... but I had 3rd party SizzlingKeys installed... that sprang into life, and suddenly all the Apple default key functions stopped working.
    I uninstalled Sizzling keys, trashed all relevent files, restarted... nothing.
    Tried to reset them via SystemPreferences... didn't work.
    How can I make these come back to life?

  • IMac G5 & new apple keyboard - some keys not working

    I have an iMac G5 (2GHz, 20 inch), running OS X Tiger (10.4.11) and I recently purchased the new apple keyboard (the wired version without the numpad, to save desk space). I am finding that the function keys at the top don't work - specifically, the keys that control sound. I've googled this, and installed the Keyboard Software Update 1.2 that most people said fixed their problem - but it hasn't fixed mine.
    Instead, the f10-f12 keys don't control the sound functions, but the f12 key ejects discs (it sits next to the eject button, so perhaps this is a wiring error?), and the caps lock key does not always work when hitting it - it needs a large amount of pressure. I would think that my keyboard was defective, but I just exchanged it yesterday, and the new one has the same problems. I'm getting close to just giving up and getting a refund.

    Hello - thank you for the quick responses! To answer your question, yes, I have repaired my permissions and restarted, to no avail.
    I have looked through the keyboard prefs quite a bit, and cannot find anything that allows me to choose where to map the sound keys. I have checked "Use All F1 F2 etc keys as standard function keys". In the small aluminum keyboards, the f keys are dual-function - in this case, the f10-f12 keys also control dashboard, etc, which I have turned off (but I have tested the keys with these options both off & on, with the fn key, without the fn key, etc - tried lots of combinations). I've tried quite a few things to get these keys to work. Honestly, the f1-f4 keys don't seem to work at all either.
    I might try and take a video later today to show you what I mean. The caps lock key is the biggest thing that's bothering me - I use it instead of shift to type, and 75% of the type it does not activate when pressed...I would think this was just one bogus keyboard if it weren't for the fact that I already exchanged it once...

    If you are editing/testing in the Flash editor, the html end of things is nothing to be concerned about at this stage, and will likely take care of itself when it comes time.
    So you run the file in Flash and do not get any error messages?  Then place a trace command inside the button's event handler function to see if the button is communicating with it....

    Also, I'm just noticing you don't have an actual file named in the url, so in case the "not working" is that you can't get the desired page to show, that may be the cause.  Normally I would suggest testing url links online rather than in Flash because it's iffy to try to get the web involved with the editor at times.

    As described, I just want to reset everything and start over so she can face time from her iPod to my iPad.   • Secure Zone password set (send log in details email) link not working for everyone

    Hi Guys,
    I have a site with three secure zones for different online programs. We're beginning to sell some programs and, because we aren't using a seemless gateway, we are manually subscribing them to the secure zones then clicking the 'Send log in details email' button. The email seems to be going out which is good. But, some clients can't click on the link to set their password. Nothing happens. Even if they copy and paste the link text into a browser window, still nothing.
    Anybody know why this would be working for some people and not others. Could it be to do with cookies or email clients etc. We are at a loss and therefore have lost two sales so far (they asked for refunds) because they couldn't access their programs in the secure zone.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    The thing is, most of the time the link text appears as a link, but not for everyone. Do you think this will fix it?

  • After I installed the new Apple OS Firefox does not work.

    After installing latest version of Apple OS when trying to launch firefox it gives me a security message and then won't load anything. I opened a test account and loaded firefox and it worked perfectly.

    I also have a problematic Stickies application 7.0.  I am using Mac OS 10.6.8, and there is no updated version on my Mac anywhere.  I went to the Applications Folder as you suggested, but the same version 7.0 is there.  How can I get an updated Stickies program, or is this the highest available version for my OS 10.6.8?

    I too have this problem. But use gmail on firefox.
    The link keeps saying expired when I click it immediately after receiving it, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.
    And now it says attempt limit exceeded, so I cannot try any more to receive confirmation links to verify my email for sync :/

    The app store on my iPad keeps telling me my email address has not been verified. First of all, I verified it immediately after updating and then each time it requests I receive a verification email, no email arrives therefore I cannot verify it Again! Help!

    Are you using the ID that you use with iTunes?  It is probably, but not necessarilty the same as the iCloud ID.

    this does not help. I have forgotten ALL of the answers to my security questions. I can NOT reset the answers to my security questions without answering two of the three security questions. The other way to reset the answers to these questions is for apple to send me an email on my rescue email addres which I DO NOT HAVE.

    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
