Trying to setup a network printer adapter on my router
How do I get the necessary info to utilize a network printer adapter on the verizon router? I am using a mac and need to find the router's ip address assigned to the network adapter?
#1 First follow the hardware install directions for your printer

#2 On your Mac, Click the Apple icon in the upper left hand corner of your screen. Then click the System Prefreneces.. option.
#3 In the Internet & Network section click the Network icon.
#4 Select the network connection you use to connect to the internet. It will be the one that has a green dot in front of it. The green dot means the connection is active. Then click the Configure button which is close to the bottom of the screen.
#5 With your web browser go to the Router IP Address, and log-in as need be.
#6 In there, there should be the LAN IP Address of the printer.
#7 Follow the Software Installion - Mac, from the printer's manual / user guide.

How to setup a network printer via http

As mentioned by bdaqua, open Print & Fax and click the IP icon and then select IPP from the top drop menu. Then in the Address field just enter the IP address; don't enter the leading 'http://' and don't enter the :631 (the mere fact that you have selected the IPP protocol means that it will communicate on port 631)
Then in the queue field you can enter printers/My_Printer, although some router perform a translation for the shared printer so you only need to enter the shared printer name in the queue field.
As for the name and location fields, these are just free text for the local user and have no bearing on the queue details.
And as for 10.4 I have no idea or way to test this at home. But if you use a mix of mine and bdaqua's information you should be okay. -
How To Setup a Network Printer
I have a network printer server which connected a Canon PIXMA iP2200 linkjet. The printer works well under windows with http protocol. When I try to setup this printer under Arch, I installed CUPS, ghostscript and gsfonts via pacman and I installed iP2200 filter from aur. I managed to added the printer from the CUPS local web interface and printed a test page successfully, but I can't print any other documents, What's wrong with it?

Tried to setup ePrint on printer and received Register Error, Please Upgrade Product
I was trying to setup the ePrint web service on a HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One B210a and whenever i tried to set it up on the printer I would receive "Register Error - Please upgrade product". I would also try to get the printer to update through the web interface and I wasn't having any luck. I'm wondering what I can do to get the printer to either update itself and get the ePrint enabled or if I can do it from the HP website?

Operating System (including service pack revision)
Connection Method - USB, Hardwired LAN, Wireless?
Error messages - on printer screen and/or computer, any blinking light patterns.

Trying to setup new HP printer but says invalid password; when type in email address get error
I have a HP 410c using Mac OS 10.7.3 and am trying to setup eprint. Evidently I had eprint on my previous model but seems I forgot password. When I input my password I get an error stating must be a valid email address. I have only had 2 email accounts and have tried them both. I have using the mac account for over 3 yrs.

Do you have a Snapfish account? If so, (or even if you’re not sure) try logging in with the Snapfish icon below the Sign in Button. If you do not know your Snapfish password, you can select “forgot password” and an email will be sent to you to reset your password. Once you reset your password, go back in to the ePrint Center and try to sign in with this new information.

How to configure network printer with Linksys WRT54GL router network
I just bought a Linksys WRT54GL router and I am planning to build the following home-network around it:
1. A desktop computer connected to router via ethernet cable (hard-wired).
2. An HP Network Printer (Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP) connected to router via ethernet cable (hard-wired).
3. A notebook connected to router via Wi-Fi.
I want both computers (desktop and notebook) to be able to share files, and also to share the same network printer.
a. How do I do this?
b. Do I need to install the printer drivers in both computers as if the printer was local for each one?
c. What settings do I need to include in the Linksys router settings (and also the printer settings) to allow all this? I've read on the internet about DHCP configs, IP address, etc. but I hardly understand anything.
A step-by-step ("for dummies") explanation will be extremely appreciated.You will need to install the printer driver on each computer that will be using the printer. You will need to have a printer driver that is designed to be used on a network. Many of HP's drivers (but not all of them) can be used for either a USB or a network connection.
Usually, when you use HP's printer installation software, it will walk you through the printer installation procedure, and install the printer drivers. This software is normally located on a CD that came with the printer. Some installation software demands that you setup a USB connection first, then switch to a network connection. Other installation software might install a network connection directly. Just follow the HP directions.
There are no special settings in the router. Simply wire (using an ethernet cable) your printer to a LAN port on the router, when the installation software (or instructions) tells you to do so.
Your printer will likely get a different LAN IP address (192.168.1.x ) from time to time. Some printer drivers can handle this and still work properly. Other printer drivers get confused, and cannot find your printer when it changes addresses. If your driver has this problem, then you will need to assign your printer a fixed LAN IP address. This will force the printer to have the same LAN IP address each time you boot up your network. If you need to do this, you will need to enter the LAN IP address directly into your printer (Sometimes this is done using the printer's buttons and display panel, and sometimes this is done using HP printer software). Note that any fixed LAN IP address must be outside your DHCP server range (defaults are 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149 ) , and it cannot end in 0, 1, or 255. If you need to use a fixed LAN IP address, I would suggest you use 192.168.1.13 , which should be easy to remember by looking at the model number of your printer. If you need to use a fixed LAN IP address, you will also need to enter the Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 , and DNS Server 192.168.1.1 , into your printer. If you use a fixed LAN IP address in the printer, you do not need to change any settings in the router. The router will automatically find your printer when you turn your printer on. Even if your printer is using a fixed LAN IP address, your computers can continue to get their address automatically from the router's DHCP server. -

Windows wants this format

I've tried any number of permutations, and can't get the printer to show up in the printer wizard. I installed the software/drivers in the PC for the specific printer.
I'm just not a PC user, and can't figure this out!Find the IP address of the mac in Network Prefs.
Find the Mac's queue name for that printer in Print & Fax > highlight printer > Get Info (Show Info).
On the PC, add new printer, and add the printer exactly as you were trying, filling in IP address for "printserver_name" and queue name for "share_name." Don't need the "/.printer" part. For driver, you'll need to choose a postscript printer model driver, even if that printer isn't a postscript one. The Mac will translate the postscript to the printer's language. Apple Color Laserwriter xx/xx worked well for me. -
I just bought a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router. I have never setup wireless before. Here is my current wired setup. I have a cable modem connected to a netscreen firewall. Off that netscreen firewall I have two laptops that currently plug directly into the netscreens ethernet ports. Both the laptops have their own docking station and I usually have the ethernet go into the back of the docking station. I have the Netscreen do DHCP and give me an address within the 192.168.100.0/24 subnet. I want to setup these two laptops to do wireless and wired. Is it possible to do this and keep them on the same subnet? For instance, if I want to "undock" and move about my office, can I simply connect wirelessly or will it need to be on a different subnet?
If it needs to be on a different subnet, how do I setup my wireless router? I want to physically plug the WAN interface of the wireless router to an dmz port on the firewall, and have that interface on the firewall be the routers default gateway. I'm very confused as to how all this routing will work. I don't want to remove the firewall from the picture, so I need to find a solution that will let me work wired and wireless.
suggestions?ok, lets forget about the firewall for a moment. I can take the two wired laptops that are currently connected into the firewall and plug them direct into the wireless router. I can then setup the router to hand out dhcp to my laptops. So how do I setup the router settings under the "advanced routing" section of the web gui? Do I put it in router or gateway mode? I would like the firewall to be the default gateway, so how do I get the router to hand out dhcp and forward all packets destined outside the local subnet? and do I create a single dhcp scope that will cover both laptops when they are wired or wireless?
I also don't quite understand how the laptop can have its physical ethernet port be on the same subnet as its wireless adapter? Say I am working on my laptop and have it docked so its hard wired into the router. Wouldn't my wireless card inside the laptop also be trying to connect at the same time? How do they both get an address from the same subnet, or is it not simultaneous?

Help needed to setup to Network Print Server

I am trying to configure the following to print from my Mac:
D-Link DP-301U USB print server
HP Color LaserJet 3500
MacBook Core Duo OS X 10.4.8
Very little information is available on both D-Link and HP website.
The D-Link installation guide says to install via AppleTalk.
AppleTalk has been activated on my AirPort as well as on the Web configuration of Print Server. However I cannot see any printer on adding a printer.
In the Add Printer Browser, I can see my print server on Bonjour. When selected, I am supposed to choose my HP printer, but it is no on the HP printer list.
Only Generic PostScript can be selected, however when printing, it prints our garbage.A long time ago, I worked on a print spooler and was lent a JetDirect
box from HP to test with. A JetDirect card is in your LaserJet, I believe.
(One of the protocols it supported was localtalk, BTW). I think the
d-link isn't forwarding your localtalk packets. Anyway, one of the
things I remember is that the JetDirect spoke PCL, so that's another
consideration a driver has to deal with. The garbage you're seeing
is raw postscript. It needs to be rasterized and translated to PCL.
Please bear with me, my experience is very old, and there are gaps
in my knowledge. But I think this is do-able. I think the first step is
to add the printer directly by clicking here,
The location of the printer should be the address of the print server
(or canonical name if you're ever going to change addresses). The
device should be appsocket/jetdirect. The device uri should be
socket://nameoripaddressofdevice. The make should be HP and
the model/driver should be one of the Laserjet series, gimp-print.
I don't know which one, my experience ended around Laserjet 5, and
so do the drivers! But fundamentally they have to do the same thing.
They use the gimp-print package to rasterize the postscript and
encapsulate it into PCL. So I would bet the LaserJet 6 driver will work.
I'm sure everything posted here is correct, and that my experience
is too old and I don't know enough to know why this won't work,
but it's not a lot of effort, and if I were you I'd give it a try.

Getting spool error when trying to use a network printer from a remote computer.
I have 2 HP deskjet printers attached to my computer. One is a D4260 and the 2nd is an F4280 all in one. I would like both of these printers to be available on our wireless network so that my girlfriend can use the printers from her laptop. The D4260 is working just fine but when I try to print to the all in one it looks as if it printed on her computer but I get a spooling error on mine and no printing.
Go to hp.com.au, top right corner select support & drivers
select software & driver download type in your printer name HP Deskjet F4280
then select your operating system-step 1
on step 2 select utility diagnostic tools,select HP Print Diagnostic Utility
run the software, select your printer, then diagnose...then select fix all
this software automatically detects spooler errors & fix them
just follow the instructions from the HP Print Diagnostic Utility

Problem with Network Print Adapter (Q6275A)
Good afternoon, I hope you can help me.
A few days ago I acquired a hp print server HP (Q6275A) network to connect an HP LaserJet 1600 with USB connector.
It's a simple device according to the manual only requires a small application that serves as liaison between the PC and print server. So far so perfect, the problem comes when I install this same application on a second computer, and a third and even fourth, thereby achieving not print any of them, except .. the last installed and it seems that the application takes over the port, and the last to install the software locks the device preventing others can print. When this happens the application gives the message "Connection Manager" in the "State" is "occupied" pcname '(0.0.0.0)

I need to install a printer on my Macbook Pro. I downloaded and installed the driver from the manufacturer, Brother MFC 7820N. Then clicked the plus on add printer from System Preferences. I selected the printer I want to add as a nearby printer and the name and location populated.
The printer widget tells me it is looking for software to install. I already installed the software. Then I get an error saying it can't find software on the apple support server. When I try to select software to install, the dialog box is empty, so I can't select the software I downloaded.

Networked Printer Lanier LD 140 not working, how to setup correctly?
Trying to setup a networked printer in OS X 10.9.5. I am setting up the printer by knowing the IP address of the printer on the network. What are the correct options to setup this printer correctly on the network? I have tried various options. The printer either prints a lot of pages, or the document is never sent to the printer. I checked Lanier's website, and installed the printer package with no luck. The website does not have a lot of information regarding setting up the printer to work with OS X.
The "printing lots of pages" symptom nearly always means the printer doesn't have the postscript module installed, and it only recognizes HP-compatible PCL 5e/6. However, Lanier only provides Mac users with a Postscript driver. In other words, you can't use the Lanier-provided driver with your printer.
You can use the OS X built-in generic PCL driver.
When you set it up, use IP > HP Jetdirect protocol, then find the generic PCL driver. -
HP Deskjet 3050a cannot find network printer
I need to find out what my IP address is for my printer. I may have changed it accidently when I was trying to set up my printer to a new router. I have reset the default settings. I have tried to go to HP file where it says I can change my IP address and I get the error "cannot find network printer". I have done all of the obvious deinstall, reinstall, added MAC address to router. Nothing will recognize my printer. Please help. Thank you

Changing wireless settings
If you decide to change the wireless network settings for your wireless home network, you will need to configure your wireless printer with the new settings.
To configure the new wireless settings on a printer that features a Wireless Setup Wizard:
From the printer’s control panel, open the Wireless Settings menu. Many products provide access to the Wireless Settings by pressing the Wireless Button or touching the Wireless icon on the printer’s control panel. Consult the printer’s help documentation if you do not know how to access the Wireless Settings menu.
From the Wireless Settings menu select Wireless Setup Wizard. The Wireless Setup Wizard will guide you through the process of configuring your printer with the new wireless settings. Input your Wireless Network Name and Wireless Password when prompted.
You can print a Wireless Network Test report from the Wireless settings menu to confirm the printer was successfully connected to your network.
To configure your wireless settings on a printer that does not feature a Wireless Setup Wizard:
First, make sure your computer is connected to your network. You will also need a USB cable, which is temporarily used during the configuration. Be sure NOT to connect the USB cable between the computer and printer until instructed to do so by the software.
If your HP printer software is already installed on your computer Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:
Use Start -> Programs -> HP -> <your printer model> -> Printer Setup & Software. Windows 8:
Launch the Printer Software from the Start screen (icon for the printer model name) or from the tile named for your printer.
Select (click or touch) Utilities on the top of the Printer Software screen
Select Printer Setup & Software
