Trying to share music on home network and the advanced tab does not have home sharing on it what to do?
I was setting up sharing & was trying to click on home sharing under the advanced tab and that item was not there. What can I do?

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the issue is reolved. If there's no resolution after Step 3, post your results.

Sign out of iMessage in the Accounts tab of the preferences dialog, then sign back in.

Log out of your user account and log back in.

Boot in safe mode and test, then reboot as usual and test again.
Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. -
on my iPad 2, when I go into the iTunes store to look at apps, the categories tab will not pull up the categories list and therefore stays on my previous choice everytime and the Genius tab does not pull up anything. Please advise on how to fix. Thanks.

I am trying to set up iCloud on my iMac and the iCloud icon does not appear in system preferences under "internet & wireless". How do I proceed. I have already set it up on my iPad & iPhone.
You have to upgrade to Lion for the iCloud preferences to be available.

My screen refuses to rotate (the home screen). I already double clicked home button and scrolled over, the circle arrow does NOT have the lock inside it. I went thru all the settings and can find nothing to try and fix this. Do I need to send the phone back? Is it broken? I just got it yesterday. It has not been damaged in any way. Please help.

The Option Window in Firefox is incomplete. It only shows

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

I'm in Lightroom 4 and trying to type text into individual slides and the text box does not let me
In help Lightroom 4 tells me to go custom text pop-up in the slideshow module and choose a metadata option. All I want to do is add some text to some of the slides in my slide show. Since text and or caption options are not avaliabe I tried using the title option which brought up a text box that I could place on the screen but NOT type into, why not? what am I missing here? Also after editing the 490 photos I want to put them onto a DVD as an OTHG 2011 file to give to my backpacking group but Lightfoom does not explain how to create these DVDs. Thanks for your help. When you set that popup to 'Title', say, the slides will get a label that is filled in from the 'title' metadata, which you set for each photo in the Library Module.

Patricl, please answer Russ's question; and fear not, deleting or installing a version of FCP X does not delete or move any of your media or projects.
If the trial was from an older version (10.0.x), there is a necessary update procedure. 10.1.x uses libraries to organize your content, and the older stuff must be converted to the new organizational scheme, but it is well worth it. -
I upgraded to Lion X and have been having problems with FaceTime my version is 2.0 and the Apple store does not have this version, what happened to the changes, I used to use IChat and it was great, this is no longer available. Any hints for video conferencing or for what is going on.
You can video conference with the iChat component of Messages. Not sure if that's possible with Facetime. I have been using Facetime for video chat without any problems. Quality is no different than with iChat.

My Ipad has a message on the screenthat indicates that the unit has not been backed up for two weeks. When I press the OK icon nothing happens. I tried to shut the unit down and the red slider does not function.
A reset should help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo reappears, release both buttons and await restart.

Hello,
I'm trying to run Bootcamp on my 15" Macbook Pro (Maverick). I have 60 gig available on my computer's hard drive and have 250 gig on a separate hard drive that I have attached, which is single partitioned (MS-DOS FAT). It keeps saying "The startup disk does not have enough space, you must have 28 gig of free space available" Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.Thanks for the advice Bob The Fisherman. I'm just reading what turbostar has kindly written and it appears that perhaps, if I take advice from you both, I need to free more space up on the computer's hard drive?
With the external hard drive; would it be advisable to defragment? Know of any defrag freeware for Mac OSX?

I just bought my MacBookPro and IMovie keeps quitting automatically when I try to finalize or share a project. It keeps telling me I do not have enough "heap room/." What should I do so I can share and burn my project ASAP?

How much free space is there on Your Mac main Start-Up hard disk ? for
• SD-video - I never go under 25Gb
• HD-material used - I guess that x5 more would do.
Even as DVD is as standard SD-Video it needs space to scale down HD and Mac OS needs lot's for it's temp. files.
I do not "Finalize" or use "Share to iDVD" - but I do "Share to Media Browser" and as Large (not HD or other resolution as this will degrade the final result)

Command + R keys are for Macbooks running Lion and Mountian Lion only. ( i could be wrong on this)
you have a couple of options:
Do a clean install of Snow Leopard via Install DVD.
Clone your old hard drive to your new hard drive via Carbon Copy Cloner

Having issues with ATV optical audio through receiver..
