Trying to show macbook air to use EHD as iPhoto library but it wont accept the change?
I am trying to get more space on my macbook air by moving the default location from internal HD to EHD. I hold alt down and click on iPhoto. Select the EHD, then select the folder with all my photos and it wont allow me to click open. What am I doing wrong?

You can only open iPhoto with an iPhoto library, not with any folder with photos inside.
By default, the iPhoto library is stored in the Pictures folder, so go there and move your iPhoto library to your external drive. Then you can open iPhoto with the Alt key and choose your iPhoto library in your external drive as the default iPhoto library. After checking this, remove the iPhoto library in the Pictures folder

Being a 2009 model, it is likely the battery is worn out. Take it to a service center and have the battery replaced.

My primary computer is a macBook Air (late 2011). I have two external hard drive attached when I have it on my desk at home. I want to take it with me sometimes and not have to also lug a 3 TB external drive also. How do I get it set up similar to my music library with iTunes Match. The library is on the internal drive, but the media itself is on the external drive.
How do I get the same kind of result as seeing my library on my iOS devices?I have already turned on iCloud Photo Library and it works just fine for my iPhone. BUT, what I want is for it work on my main machine, the macBook Air. I do NOT have an iMac or other to store the "system" Photos library. I do Not have room on my internal drive for the macBook Air ("system" library is located on an external drive). I don't want to have to lug that 3 TB drive with me. It also will not let me move the library file. The library file is close to 40 Gbytes and I have less than 20 left on my internal drive (and I don't dare let it get much smaller than this)....
Any ideas as to how to do this?
For my iTunes library, I ran into a similar issue, but I simply started a new library and dragged the files (on my external drive) into iTunes. This told iTunes where they were without copying them to the internal drive.
I would think something similar should work with Photos, but I don't know how to do it. -

Hi. I need some help on the following problem. I opened iPhoto and, suddenly, it tells me " WHAT IPHOTO LIBRARY DO I WANT TO USE?" but i had a iPhoto library. When i search on my Pictures, i have the file IPHOTO LIBRARY but is was not the icon on it i previously remembered and it appears on a dim letters and it can not be opened ... How can i recover it??
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I would do a transfer of purchases from the phone and not sync. If you sync then it will want to start over and sync music that is on the MacBook Pro. If you want to transfer the music, check out the article below that will give you multiple options on how to move. I have also provided on how to sync with multiple computers.

Hi, my MacBook Air is not working anymore if it's not connected with the power cable. It's pretty new so I can't imagine that the battery is dead already. Why can't I use my MacBook Air without the power cable even though I charged it for hours?

I have a new MacBook Air 11'inch and I presume that it should come with the iLife programs. However, when I signed into the appstore with my account I have used with all of my Mac products, it now said I had to purchase each program, like iPhoto, iMovie, ect. seperate. I have already logged in and out of my account and called the "free" part of tech support. How can I reslove this issue?

If you really have a new MacBook, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand come with the Mac for free.
As you see their price at the Mac App Store, it's clear that there's a problem with your MacBook. Simply return it if you purchased it less than 14 days ago and you will receive a new MacBook -

I was so frustated from this issue that I used to use Windows iTunes for mass editing info, adding Lyrics etc and then transfering songs to Mac. This tip has alleviated my pain!!

My old ipod nano is recognised by my new MacBook Air, and even transferred purchases from it, but it won't synch?
When I linked it it used the name I had given the ipod so it seems strange that it won't synch even though it is definitely connected.See if this helps:
