Trying to sort by song that cant be found anymore

I want to sort by the first column (which has no header) but it displays an exclamation mark on the far left.
All the files that have this can not be found anymore by itunes and are mostly duplicates anyway.
SO basically need to sort by this column and then delete all of this at once. Otherwise I will be sifting through thousands of songs for hours to finish this task.

Click on view > View options and tick off the "Date Added" box.
then click on the date added column - the bad files should have the earlier date, and you can select them all at once and press delete.

Congratulations on your new Mac! It sounds like your purchased songs are not playing completely after you downloaded them. I recommend to following steps for an issue like this:
Symptoms
Occasionally, if a song purchased from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC was not downloaded completely, the song may not play back fully. The song may abruptly stop during playback, and iTunes may start playing the next song in your library or playlist.
Resolution
If iTunes in the Cloud is available in your country, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Delete the purchased song that is exhibiting the problem from your iTunes library.
Click on the Purchased link in the iTunes Store to view your previously purchased music.
Download your previously purchased song from this list.

My ipod was working fine, I downloaded some new songs and the sync would not come up. Eventually it did but all the songs did not download. I was trying to do the song that were on my computer but not the ipod. no I have no content in my ipod.

When I try and download the itunes files, a message appears telling me that 7 songs purchased under the old apple id cannot be added to itunes on my macbook( the rest are added ok). I know the previous apple id, but have forgotten the password. When I try and retrieve the password using the security questions, I am asked for my birthdate. When I enter my birthdate, I am told this information is incorrect! Thats as far as i can go!
How can I update my apple id( and remove any old ones) if I can't retrieve the old password?

Copy everything form your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

TS1389 I had an hotmail account many years ago, and since then got a yahoo account. I tried to play a song that was purchased on hotmail, however I don't think that account exists any more and I can't play those songs?

I had a hotmail account many years ago and purchased several ITunes. I found some of those old songs and tried to play them but needed authorization to do so. It keeps putting up this old account, and the passwords keeps coming up wrong? Since I don't use that old account, it is no longer in use. I do have a new Yahoo account with I Tunes, but won't let me use it for the old songs.

Is there a way to sort by songs that require a password or marked with !

I am trying to restore iphone but iphone cant be found

I have tried multiple times but it just shows the same screen on my phone, with itunes, the arrow, and the usb cord. My computer when I try to restore the iphone says the iphone cannot be restored. the iphone was not found.

You need to be in a country to use its store, so unless you are in the US with a US billing address on your account then you can't buy from the US store - you can only use the South African store. You can try requesting that the song be added to the South African store, but unless the rights-holder agrees to it then Appl won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

How? I don't understand why I am having so much difficulty not only trying to find the songs that I purchased through itunes but the music I already had that is only stored on my iphone at the moment. If you put them on your computer, then they will be in your "Library" in itunes.
You sync them to your iphone as you did before.
Open itunes, plug in iphone, select what you want to sync and sync.

If you have music that was purchased on different iTunes accounts than the one you use, then you must provide the password, otherwise the tunes are not considered yours. You can turn off iCloud and just use the usual USB sync method. But I wonder whether you'll have the same problem?
