Trying to start up the manager process in a fresh installation

Version 11.2.1.0.3
Platform : RHEL 5.4
To configure manager process in a machine (which is going to be a target server ), I downloaded GG installer from edelivery.
Unzipped the installable in the desired location. Then I created a basic parameter file for the manager and tried to start up the manager process. But the manager process is not coming up.
This is what I've done till now after the installation of GG (By installation , I mean Unzipping and Untarring)
1. set the env variables for the database
2. Created the parameter file for manager as shown below.
$ ./ggsci

GGSCI (stryker179) 1> info mgr
Manager is DOWN!
GGSCI (stryker179) 4> view param mgr
port 7809
purgeoldextracts /u04/ggData/dirdat/MS/*, usecheckpoints
dynamicportlist 7840-7849
GGSCI (stryker179) 2> start mgr
Manager started.
GGSCI (stryker179) 3> info mgr
Manager is DOWN!I haven't created any gguser at DB level. But that is not a pre-requisite for manager process. Right ?
-- Regarding the logging of GG's errors
Wish I could check some logs to see what is causing this issue ?
Where are the logs (.rpt files) stored ? I believe we have to manually create a directory called dirrpt.
For , the fresh installation, the dirrpt directory was not created. Only the following directories were found after the installation (Untar)
$ ls -alrdFt * | grep /
drwxr-x--- 7 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:06 UserExitExamples/
drwxr-x--- 2 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:33 cfg/
drwxr-x--- 2 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:33 dirprm/
drwxr-x--- 2 oracle oinstall      4096 Aug 24 07:33 dirjar/

Hi ,
1. Did you execute CREATE SUBDIRS in GGSCI prompt?
It will create all the required folders like dirprm,dirrpt,dirdef,dirsql,dirdat...etc
Db level user is not required for starting the manager process, But you have to create mgr parameter file under dirprm folder , for that you have to execute ,
GGSCI > EDIT PARAMS MGR
in that file mention the PORT number , usually it will be 7809 ex, PORT 7809,
then start the mgr in GGSCI
GGSCI > START MGR
again if you are getting MANAGER DOWN message then check the details in ggserr.log file which is available in GG home directory where you have unzipped the binaries .
Hopefully this will help you

When I started my iMac today, it started beeping like an alarm horn.  I shut it down, and held the startup button a little longer to get it to start.  Shortly after starting up, a dark 'film' slowly comes down over the screen and I get a message saying I have to shut down the computer.  I've tried to start from the disk, and before I can even run a repair off utilities, it happens again.  What's up?  Am I screwed?  HELP!!

What you are seeing is a kernel panic, often but not always connected with a hardware or peripheral issue, so, unplug everything except mouse and  keyboard, reboot and hold the shift key as soon as your hear the chime, continue holding it until you see the Apple Icon and spinning progress indicator, then post back.
It will take noticeably longer than normal to start.

  • Versions now available in the Manage Process Option in Planning

    Hi All,
I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.1.0 and have a planning application.
While creating the app i selected 12 months as my year distribution.
I have a version "V1" standard target .. and others "V2" "V3" as Standard Bottom up.
Now when i try to start the budget cycle by going to File --> Workflow -->Manage Process on the Version Selection I can see V2 and V3 which are standard bottom up but dont see V1 which is Standard Target.
Is there a way i can get it on the versions drop down..
If somebody could please suggest ..
    Looking forward to soem advice.
    Alicia

Target version enables data entry even at the parent level which you would typically do to set targets (..I assume the numbers would already have been approved) and the users will plan their data at the bottom levels accordingly.

Try resetting the SMC 2-3 times, if that does not work then the DVD may need cleaning. Get a dry cleaning kit from your local office supply store.

  • HT202159 How to resume interrupted downloads when it stops and starts during the download process?

I have a 2011 25inch iMac desktop and it when I download a game app from the App store, it keeps on stoping and starting at certian points (these are random and do not stop in the same spot if I restart the download) Ive only gotten as far as 6.22GB out of 8:55GB before the download progress stops and goes back to the begining all by itself. I have plenty of space on my hard drive to install it so why is it constently doing this. Its taken me a week and a half to get to about 6.22GB and its still not letting me finished the instalation. Also why is the Calulating times keeps going up and down some times it says like 1 hour and 55 minutes when its progressing but then when it stops it goes all the way up to like 15 days, 14 hours and 60 minutes until it starts up again and then it goes back down to 1 hour and 54 minutes when it starts up the instalation progress again. The Game app is Trainz Railroad Simulator 2.

    Hi Mattew ..
Disable anti virus softwrare if installed
Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
    Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected. If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.
    OS X: About Gatekeeper
If nothing above helped, try contacting the Trainz Railroad Sim 2 app developer >  Trainz Portal - Powered by Kayako Fusion Help Desk Software
If you do not hear back within three business days, contact Apple > Apple - Mac App Store - Contact Support

  • SmartSleep Daemon trying to start in the background after uninstall.

Sorry I am a noob to the forum so excuse any formating requirements. I have a 17" MBP 2.4 running 10.5.3 and I am having trouble with the sleep control Smart Sleep. It is posting about 200 records an hour in Console. I have removed the SmartSleep icon in System Preferences as well as tried deleting it with AppDelete. I have restarted after each uninstall to no avail. Here is a copy of one of the entries in Console:
    7/5/08 8:02:13 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (de.jinx.SmartSleepDaemon) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
    7/5/08 8:02:23 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (de.jinx.SmartSleepDaemon[1378]) posix_spawn("/Library/PreferencePanes/SmartSleep.prefPane/Contents/Resources/de .jinx.SmartSleepDaemon", ...): No such file or directory
    7/5/08 8:02:23 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (de.jinx.SmartSleepDaemon[1378]) Exited with exit code: 1
If anyone has any idea how to turn this off I would really appreciate it. I think it is causing OS X to freeze. Thank you very much.

something didn't get deleted. you need to look in several places.
    1. your login items in system preferences->accounts
    2. /Library/LaunchAgents and /Library/LaunchDaemons
3 ~/Library/LaunchAgents and ~/Library/Launchdaemons ~ means your home directory. dlete anything related to SmartSleep that you find.

  • When trying to start SAP download manager issue is coming

    Dear Experts
We have installed SAP download basket on windows 7 32 bit machine, Also we have installed java latest version.
While starting the download basket we are facing the " Windows error 2 occurred while loading the java VM"
    Java version installed :- jre-8u20-windows-i586
    Regards
    Ravi Kaushik

You can run the Java file directly here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP Download Manager\DLManager.jar
But if you want to fix it permanently you have to edit the file: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP Download Manager\SAP Download Manager.lax
Open it with a text editor and change:
    lax.nl.current.vm=C:\\ProgramData\\Oracle\\Java\\javapath\\java.exe
You have to change it to something like:
    lax.nl.current.vm=C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Java\\jre1.8.0_45\\bin\\java.exe
Where the exact folder depends on your version.  I happen to have this version of java.  If you remove the double backslash and paste it into a file explorer you will see if the java.exe file is actually there.  Once you find the java.exe program and path you have to add the double backslashes back for the .lax file before you save it.
Once I saved this it worked fine using the .exe launcher.

  • Getting started with the editing process

Recently (about a year ago) took a hammer to all my PCs and purchased a PowerBook.  Since then I have purchased two iMACs for home use.  Also recently purchased (within the past 30 days) Final Cut Pro X, Logic Studio, Motion, Compressor and a few other rather complicated applications; complicated for me at least.  I've purchased a couple of tutorial books, but will admit they appear to be written for a reader who already has a working knowledge of this editing process using terms I am not familiar with.
What teachinig aids can any of you recommend for someone who is lterally starting at "below" ground level for video and audio editing and manipulation?

usually within less than 8-10 years you should understand this bunch of professional tools.
to get a first glimpse of the new interface paradigm of FCPX, spend an hour on the video tutorials for its Lil' Brother iMovie
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/index.html#button-1
it's a dumbed-down FCPX, but teaches you the differences to older NLEs (such as 'no tracks')
after accepting the principles of Events and Projects, skimming and key shortcuts, plus the different nomenclatura (lately some guy asked here, what is skimming - obviously he never touched any of the apps, nor a Mac), switch to the manual of FCPX
    http://help.apple.com/finalcutpro/mac/10.0.6/
which only touches the possibilities of this tool.
if you're a more hands-on guy, book some courses ....
if you never did any video-editing, stay with iMovie for a few dozen Projects to understand 'editing', then dare the plunge to FCPX.-

  • Downloaded Firefox 6.0.2 , extracts, everything works. Hit the finish page and when trying to start from the desktop I get the following dialog box: "Eror Platform - Ver "6.0.1" is not compatible with minVersion =6.0.2; maxVersion =6.0.2.

Everything is stated in the question above. Please provide further advice.

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then try to disable Virtualization.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder.

  • Update of software for iPad was interrupted and the iPad is now locked up.  Any ideas for how to re-start the update process?

    Hi all,
I was updating the software on my iPad2 and while trying to multitask stopped the update process.  My iPad is now locked up and unresponsive.  Does anyone have ideas about how to re-load the update?

You will need to hold down the power + sleep button, wait for restart, then hold home.  iTunes should then be in DFU mode.  Once in DFU mode connect to iTunes and click "Restore".  PRESTO!

try using flag -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true within the startManagedWeblogic.cmd file to start the managed server with the command prompt.

  • VM Server trying to talk to old manager IP after manager virtualization.

    Hi All,
I have been trying to virtualize the VM manager and have got myself stuck.
    Steps I have performed
    1. Installed VM Manager in VirtualBox on Windows 7
    2. Create iSCSI targets
    3. Installed VM Server on physical machine
    4. Configured storage
    5. Created repositories
    6. Created VMs
Now everything works perfectly so the next step is to virtualize the manager.
    I followed the instructions here
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26996_01/E18548/html/CHDGIAIH.html
    and
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26996_01/E18548/html/CHDGDFJJ.html
I got the manager up and running on a new IP address but couldn't start any of the VMs as it thought the VM server was not started.... even though the manager was actually running on the VM server it said was not started.
So I went back to try and use the old manager (virtualbox) and rebooted the VM server now I am in the same situation and cannot start any VMs as the old manager cannot see the VM Server as started.
This is the logs I see on the VM Server in /var/log/ovs-agent.log
[2012-08-28 14:19:11 4197] INFO (xmlrpc:285) Oracle VM Agent XMLRPC Server started.
    [2012-08-28 14:19:11 4197] INFO (xmlrpc:294) Oracle VM Server version: {'release': '3.1.1', 'date': '201205011215', 'build': '308'}, hostname: ovs-c9-d8-4c, ip: 192.168.64.125

[2012-08-28 14:19:16 4192] DEBUG (monitor:40) Error sending notification: (2, 'No such file or directory')
Note it appears to still be trying to talk to the 'new' virtualised manager (which is off) at 192.168.64.204 when the 'old' virtualbox manager is 192.168.64.120
Where is the manager IP stored on VM Server?
I have tried deleting the VM Server from the 'old' manager but it wont let me due to a bunch of other errors.
I have tried rediscovering the server but it whinges about the IP of the VM Server changing which it has not.
Any ideas how to get out of the hole I am stuck in?

    Hi ,
