Trying to subscribe to us holiday in ical.

When i try to subscribe to ical holiday calendar i get a message saying it is already there, but I can't see any holidays in my calendar. Is there a fix?

L.S.,
Have you ever successfully subscribed to the calendar? If so, you may want to unsubscribe.
Is this the one you are trying to subscribe to.... webcal://ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics ?
How many calendars do you have?
Have you attempted to subscribe to any other calendars?
The first item that you should try to "dump" is the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You can locate that file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library Preferences Folder. Drag it to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check if you are able to subscribe to the U.S Holiday calendar.

I found this link (trash Calendar Cache and iCal.plist), and it solved my problem. https://discussions.apple.com/message/11084987?searchText=ical%20us%20holidays%2 0not%20showing%20on%20imac#11084987

  • Subscribing to web calendar in iCal

I'm trying to subscribe to the web/wiki calendar in iCal. I understand this will be only (that's fine). I've found the page in the manual showing how to subscribe using port 8008 (I'm actually using 8443 because of SSL). However I constantly get an access denied for this login and password message, even though I'm using the correct information. I've been able to subscribe to the Blog and Wiki feeds, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. Any ideas?

Did you forward port "8008" (or better 8443) on your firewall? If you did not do that then you do not get through the firewall and you will not be able to reach your remote calender. It did happen to me!
Be sure to use the following format in the calendar URL:
    http://servernameor_ipnumber:8008/calendars/groups/groupname/calendar/

What is the safest way to get 2012 US Holidays on iCal?

Besides being out of date, I found errors in the US holiday calendar published by Apple here:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/calendars/
Instead, I've subscribed to the US calendar at this site:
    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/holidays.html
Copy the URL weblink (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/caldata/USHolidays.ics) for the US holidays, and use it to "subscribe" to this calendar.  Once you've subscribed, each holiday will populate your local calendar.
This US Holiday calendar is pretty good.  It includes many Christian religious holidays, as well as patriotic holidays.  There are also separate entries for Federal holidays (designated as OPM).  I find this useful since I deal with the Feds on a regular basis.
Edit:  Just found more subsciption Holiday calendars here:   http://www.calendarlabs.com/ical-calendar-holidays.php

Don't use this calendar.... Apple has not updated it since 2010.
I subscribe to the US Holidays calendar published by Marcus Yoo and Rob Craver here:
    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/holidays.html
Best part is that it contains both patriotic and religious holidays, and they keep it up to date!  Subscribing means that as they update it, the new entries are pushed to your calendar -- very cool!  I've subscribed to it on all my devices (Mac, iPhone and iPad)

  • Subscribe to Jewish Holidays

I successfully subscribed to US holidays as guided by iCal help. Now I would like to add Jewish Holidays, but when I go to
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/ical/library/holidays.html
and select Jewish Holidays it shows up in the calendars pane of iCal, but no holidays appear in my calendar. What am I doing wrong? I'm not sure what other information to provide to help you help me. But please help anyway.
    Anybody?
    Martin

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, I just think whoever maintains this calendar hasn't updated it for 2007. If you scroll back to 2006 you see dates, but nothing for 2007.
If you do a Google search for iCal or .ics you may find another source.

    Mike

  • View holidays in iCal 5.0.3

    sorry may be a dup...
how do I view holidays in iCal 5.0.3???

Apple does not comment on their design decisions, and certainly won't do so here. If you want to comment to Apple, you can do so via their feedback page:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html
The only way to "resolve" the issue as of right now is to use some other calendar application. But even BusyCal, the most common iCal alternative, doesn't display more than one month at a time in the sidebar.
    Regards.

    Heather,
Can you help me figure out why all of your Holiday's are different from your other events?
When/how were these Holiday events entered?
Have you checked iCal>Preferences...>Advanced>Turn on time zone support?

About the only thing you can try is using the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstall Lion on your Mac over the top of the current install. that will reset all system files and should not touch your personal files or the apps you have installed.
Or iof you have a recent Time Machine backup use that to restore your Mac to that point in time.

  • HT5085 Can any tell me if iMatch is available in the US and if there is something weird about trying to subscribe to it?

Can any tell me if iMatch is available in the US and if so why I cannot connect it throught itunes on my PC, running the latest version of iTunes?
I have reinstalled iTunes after uninstall all of it and uninstalled my anti virus software. My firewall allows iTunes. I found in trying to subscribe to iMatch that iTunes crashes every time I try and also when I attempt to view my account. My PC is authorized and trying to do so gets me a message that it is already. I can purchase music from iTunes Store and it downloads to my PC's iTunes library the nex time I open it. My iDevices are detected and they sync.
A chart of the support section list all the countries that iMatch is either available in or not. You cannot tell from the page if the X means it is or is not available. The US does have an 'X' for whatever that really means. In fact all the countries listed have an 'X'.
I just do not undersntad what the problem may be.
I am fit to pack up all my devices and PC and go to a Genius Bar because the support site just does not have anything passed to simple positive statement help as if nothing ever goes wrong in the dark and does not reflect the expereince of real people's problems either solved or still hanging in limbo.
Thanks for whatever help someone can provide.

I am having the same problems.  Firstly found out that I had a duplicate email address on two apple ids so I fixed that but now it wont let me verify the email address.  When I click on "verify email address" nothing happens.  So frustrating cos cant set up Facetime or iMessage on my iPad.
