Trying to support Apple, but it's hard when...

I spent the last 3 hours with the "PC-Guy" peering over my shoulder while trying to get an Airport Extreme to function with their company's Canon ImageRunner C3220 printer/scanner/fax.
Basically, any time the printer is plugged into the Airport, there is no link light and the printer cannot ping the router at 192.168.1.1 and a direct-connected Mac laptop cannot ping the printer. Substitute the Airport for a Linksys with the exact same cables and it works fine. Another hub hooked to the Airport lights up and computers plugged into the Airport or the hub work fine.
I had to listen to continuous snipes about how "Macintosh is crap and non-standard", and so on and so forth. Didn't have anything to defend it with. It was pretty clear, the Linksys worked and the Airport didn't.
I personally think the Canon interface card is flaky, but I've never run into anything that would NOT light a link on an Airport. Anyone else have a similar experience? With anything? Or Canon in particular?
Any speculation on why this might be happening? I mean, ethernet is ethernet pretty much these days, isn't it?

Starion, all PC people fear Apple since they'd be out of a job if all you had was Apple equipment.
The problem with Airport is that it's extremely versatile and can do anything that would otherwise require multiple boxes from Linksys. Linksys makes fine equipment but will you need a WAP54G and a BEFSR81 with a WRH54G or ... get the picture?
You can absolutely, positively connect your Airport Extreme and make your Canon printer wireless. I have done it with a Canon all-in-one, unfortunately that office is about a thousand miles away from Galt's Gulch at the moment. Start with a hard reset. Read the knowledge base article to make sure you did that correctly. Using Airport Utility, configure it to receive an IP address from whatever router you're using. Connect the Canon to the Airport's LAN port. You should then be able to ping the Airport and the Canon.
These instructions are far from complete but if I can do it, so can you. Then you can go tell your PC guy to eradicate a virus, invoke a wizard, install a driver, and repair his registry. They feel so useful doing that stuff.

If MacKeeper corrupted the Recovery partition then even I underestimated its potential for damage. Garbage "cleaning" apps will cause misery but I have not found that the Recovery partition to have been affected by using MacKeeper or anything like it. I doubt that it did so, but I have learned not to underestimate the potential for such things to result in system corruption.
Before concluding your Mac has a hardware failure, try booting OS X Internet Recovery by holding command option r on startup (three fingers). That will force your iMac to bypass the Recovery partition altogether, and convey the ability to create a new one.
An Internet connection will be required (wired or wireless).
At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select Disk Utility. Select your startup volume (usually named "Macintosh HD") and click the Repair Disk button. Describe any errors it reports in red. If Disk Utility reports "The volume Macintosh HD appears to be OK" in green then you can be reasonably (though not completely) assured your hard disk is in good working order.
Assuming the HD remains usable you can then use Disk Utility to erase it. Reinstall OS X, restore your essential software and other files, and don't reinstall the junk.

Did you purchase them on your iPad with the same Apple ID that you are using for iTunes on your iPhone and that iTunes on your Mac is sign into?

Trying to uninstall iTunes but it's missing from programs list

I have iTunes on a laptop with Windows 7 and tried to update but kept getting an error message. I was advised to try uninstalling and then reinstalling iTunes using these steps...

However when I go to the list of currently installed programs iTunes isn't there! I can see Apple Device Software and Bonjour etc. but iTunes just isn't there in the list and doesn't come up if I search. It is there when I go to all programs from the start menu and it also runs fine... just wouldn't update!

How are you getting this itunes update? Through the Apple Software Update program? Or the apple itunes download page?
My advice is to go to the apple itunes download page, choose SAVE to save the entire file to your PC's hard drive, and click the iTunesSetup.exe file after it has entirely downloaded. You don't say your version of WIndows, but it's also a good idea to right-click and choose "Run as Adminstrator" with that setup file.
If you still have trouble with QuickTime, there is also an apple download page for a QuickTime standalone installer.
I always back up my itunes Library.itl database file before upgrading itunes, by the way. I put a copy of it on my little USB stick or one of my exHDs.

Then I could finally log in App store also.
But still I feel something is wrong with my connection.

thank you for your prompt reply. After I sent the email, I left the wheel spinning to see if it would eventually stop. It didn't, but after a while the screen turned blue, so I decided to switch everything off with a forced shut-down. I could not restart with the OS DVDs because I am currently away from home, but fortunately everything was more or less fine after restarting. It then got stuck again, I forced it shut again, restarted again, and now it seem to work but I won't overdo it and will switch off smoothly after writing this (unless it gets stuck again). Last April I have replaced the HD, so it's now just under 6 months old. And, of course, since the crash occurred when I was abroad and had backed up just before I left, I have lost only a few days' work. Still, and I know this will make me hugely unpopular here, with my 5 previous laptops running on MS Windows I never had a problem. Which does not mean I loved the OS, or I would not have switched to Mac.
Anyway, and this is the main reason for this message, thank you very much again for your speedy intervention.

Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache. If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
You can also download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

I'm having this problem now with my 2 weeks old iPhone 6+. in the beginning everything going great and managed to connect every wifi around me. Then suddenly 1 week ago, All the wifi from my office, home, hotel and coffee house saying either incorrect password or can't join the wifi. But when i switch on my hotspot from my iPhone 5 it can be connect. i also try with my friend iPhone hotspot. So is it because of hardware problem or software problem. And i just restore my iPhone6+ and still can't connect to wifi and manage to join hotspot (also wifi right?) regret as all my downloaded stuff vanish and now can't download back using wifi.....
