Trying to sync maps on a N8 with OVI

I went to the maps 'sync' tool, and tried to do a sync but it failed. After reading the manual, I see I need to be logged in first:
Synchronise your favourite locations with Ovi Maps
The Ovi website contains the internet services that Nokia
provides. The Ovi Maps section contains services related to
Maps. You can synchronise your saved locations,
collections, and routes with Ovi Maps, if you have a Nokia
account in Ovi. To create the account, visit www.ovi.com.
Select Maps.
Synchronise saved items with Ovi Maps
Select Options > Favourites > Synchronise with Ovi.
So, I open my browser and try to log onto the maps service - but no matter what I put in the URL in the browser, I get taken to http://m.maps.nokia.com/redirect.html
What I see is:
Looking for Nokia Maps?
The native Maps application on your phone has our full range of search and chek-in services, etc., etc.
It wants me to download OVI Maps.
But I already have OVI Maps.....
How do I get logged into the server, such that the sync will work? Is there some step that I'm just not aware of?

Puzzled here in that you only need to sign-in at http://maps.nokia.com if you want to view favourites or create a route on your PC.
Admittedly have Ovi Maps v3.08 on N8 here, click on "gear wheels" > Extra > Settings > General > Nokia account > Nokia Account > Sign in and if not already amend so it is showing "Sign out"
In Ovi Maps upon device then go to Search > Favourites > Sync and if you currently use Ovi Maps in "Offline" mode it asks to go online to synchronise favourites.

To sync your iPad over Wifi:
First ensure you're running iTunes 11.0.2. And you already have your iPad up to date, good.
Plug your iPad into the Mac via USB. Click your iPad in the top toolbar (under the search bar). Click the Summary tab if it isn't already selected. Check the box to "Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi" (you may have to scroll down to see it). And now click the Apply button at the bottom right.
You should be able to unplug your iPad from the Mac and it should still remain in iTunes. (If not, try Quitting and relaunching iTunes and waiting, restarting iPad, etc).
To initiate a sync over Wifi, click your iPad in the toolbar in iTunes then click Sync. Or on your iPad, go to Settings > General > iTunes Wifi Sync and tap "Sync Now."

Both the ipad and iphone are intended to sync to a computer.

New to MAC - trying to sync iphone and Mac Pro with imac

Hi,
Just made the switch to Mac. Purchased my Mac Pro yesterday, loaded .Mac, and plugged in my iPhone to the computer. Followed the steps to Sync iCal and contacts from iPhone and although it is registering there is a phone and downloading photos, it is not syncing anything else.
The steps I took were System Preferences, .mac, and checked the relevant boxes. It indicates syncing is taking place but the calendar on iPhone and Mac Pro are not syncing.
Could anyone help with advice? SHould I be able to sync easily between the iPhone and the Mac Pro with .mac?

You use iTunes to sync an iPhone - not *.Mac Sync* or iSync.
*.Mac Sync* is for syncing between Macs, and iSync is for syncing third-party mobile phones and PDAs.

Plug them into a computer, sync the same stuff to both.
You can not connect the iPod to the iPad.

Congratulations on your new iPad! You may need to restore your iPad if the sync option is grayed out. You can find steps to restore your iPad here:

Problem trying to sync IPAD2 and IPhone 4 with windows XP Laptop

When I plug the Ipad into the USB on the laptop, Itunes starts and a sync process tries to start. It proceeds to step 2 of 7 and seems to stop its progress there.
I check the Windows task manager and I see that ITUNES.exe and AppleMobileDeviceService.exe are each using 50% of the processor resources. This continues and the SYNC never goes to step 3 of 7.
I read on line that others had a problem after the upgrade to the new Safari software. I uninstalled Safari and the problem continues.
The same thing happens when I try to SYNC my IPhone 4.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
I am happy with the performance of the IPAD and the IPhone 4 as individual products but not with the interface options with my PC environment products.
These are new purchases and they are me first experience with Apple products. So far, I am not impressed.

You can't use bluetooth to transfer files between your Macbook and tour iPhone. Use iTunes and sync the data to/from your phone. Caution: Be sure that your Macbook's calendar and address book have at least one entry (even a dummy entry) in order to generate a merge prompt. If you try to sync a bland\k address book or calendar, the blank file will replace the files in your iPhone.

I found a solution to my problem in this forum!
The solution was to reinstall the zenworks database!

I have a IPAD 3rd generation and am trying to sync my calendar and contacts with my window live contacts and calendar. It does the contacts but issues message that no supported calendar application found. Windows is 64 bit Itunes is 10.6

Any ideas on how to get the IPAD and IYUNES to sync the calendar?

Looking for some help with the following issue: When I try and sync my Z10 via Companion Link with Act 2013 I get an error message in blackberry link then the sync fails:

I have no experience with the third-party application you are referring to but I have the feeling that it is designed to sync with devices using Legacy Conduits.
Legacy Conduits used on OS4 and before (and a very few of the early OS5 devices): Date Book, Address Book, To Do List, Memo Pad.
Extended Conduits used on modern devices: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Memos.
