Trying to transfer Apps from old phone to new.

I need to transfer Apps from my iPhone3 to the computer, so I can then get them from the computer to my new iPhone4, however when I try to "transfer purchases from phone to computer" I get a message saying they couldn't be transferred to my library because I am not authorised for them on this computer, even though I purchased all the Apps directly to my iPhone3. Can someone help? Cheers.

This has nothing to do with purchasing/downloading apps direct with the iPhone. This has everything to do with your computer not being authorized with the same iTunes account with iTunes that was used to purchase/download the apps with your iPhone, or there is a problem with this on your computer if already authorized with the same iTunes account with iTunes along with iTunes on your computer being logged in with the same account before doing the transfer.

  • How do I transfer apps from old iPhone to new???

When installing my new iPhone last night I realised that the apps I downloaded direct from my old iPhone were not going to be on my new iPhone. All the apps I downloaded from iTunes were re-installed. I wouldn't mind so much but I paid for some of them!
Does this mean I have to buy them again. And maybe in the future it might be an idea to just download paid apps from iTunes so you will always have them in the future!!!

That's interesting. I had the same problem. The only apps on iTunes were the ones I downloading with iTunes. It never asked me if I wanted to transfer apps from my phone.
Now I've downloaded the apps again on my new phone, and again I'm not getting the option to sync them onto iTunes. I'm beginning to think that the only safe thing to do is to download on iTunes as much as possible.
I wish there were some way to force this type of sync.

  • How do I retrieve my apps from old phone to new phone

How can I retrieve my apps and stuff from old phone to new phone

Restore the backup of your old phone to your new one, as explained here: https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521.

In most countries, music and apps can be downloaded for free in the iTunes/App stores if you log into the new iPad using the Apple ID with which you used to purchase them. The same goes for most films. You can also sync the old iPad with a computer and then sync the new one with the same computer, and restore it from the backup you made of the old iPad.
If you have notes and emails on the old iPad, go into 'System Preferences' and make sure they are saved into the iCloud. You can then retrieve them from the cloud by logging in to the same email/iTunes accounts on the new iPad.

  • HT201272 Problem with app from old phone to new phone

I had to get a new iPhone 5 and downloaded my existing apps through iCloud. However, one of the apps from my old phone was upgraded and I paid a yearly subscription fee. When I received my new phone and downloaded this upgraded app, my new phone did not recognize my paid subscription and now is prompting me for another upgrade. How do I get this phone to recognize my upgraded app?

back up your old phone using that
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
erase your new phone, by going to settings general reset -erase content and reset all settings
connect to your mac and restore from your back up.
Do not sync contacts, since your mountain lion has contacts of your husband.
Verify, that you use separate icloud accounts. Do not sync anything with itunes (including your apps and music) until you sign in to your own icloud account, after you verify that you have your own contacts on the phone.

  • How to transfer apps from old pc to new mac

I now have a brand new MacBook Pro laptop and have transferred everything except my apps from my old iTunes on PC to my new one using the home share function because there seems to be no option for the apps.  I've made sure the box is ticked in the General Tab of my Preferences on both computers but the apps still don't show up.  Am I missing something?  I have both firewire and USB cables for both computers.  Thanks for any input.

Your answer would be useful is you could help this novice just a little bit more.  I'm only able to view the iTunes sidebar when I've selected Music under Library and there is no Quick Link option.  It seems that every option I find pertains to music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, etc, but never the apps where I paid for them or they were free downlods!  How might I do what you offered?  Thanks for your patience!

  • Just got an iphone 5s, I'm trying to transfer info from old phone but it's for a password to unlock iphone backup, I;ve never had a password for this before. How do I get the password?

    Hi,
I've just bought an Iphone 5s, I'm trying to sync it to transfer all my info from my iphone 4 but when I click on continue to restore from this back up, it's asking for a password. I didn't have a password for the previous phone. Can anyone help?

If the backup you're trying to restore from is encrypted, & you don't know the encrypted passcode, the backup will be unusable & you will not be able to recover any data from it. Encrypting an iPhone backup is not done automatically. You, or someone, had to elect to encrypt it to begin with, and no, there is no default passcode.
Did you have an Exchange account on your iPhone 4? It is common for Corp. Exchange accounts to require an iPhone backup be encrypted. If you did, you might try your Exchange password.

  • Manually Transfer Apps From Old iPad to New iPad?

I bought a new iPad Air 2 to replace my old iPad 3.  I backed up the old iPad to iTunes and restored it to the new iPad.  Everything worked out fine, except that about ten apps did not transfer over.  Even though the apps are still on the old iPad and are still functional, they will not transfer to the new iPad.
It turns out that none of these apps are available in the iTunes Store any more.  I have tried everything I can think of, including calling Apple Support (no help) and downloading a program called CopyTrans (doesn't work on my machine), but I am coming up empty so far.
Does anyone have any idea how I can manually port these apps onto my new iPad?

Unfortunately, this did not work, and it's even worse than that.  Because Apple Support had me me restore the new iPad, and just as when I first applied the other iPad's backup, 22 apps did not load.  I found the other 12 in the app store but not the missing ten.  So not only did following the document here fail to load the ten no longer in the app store into my Mobile Applications folder, it did not even load the 12 I can find in the app store, so now i have to go to the app store and find them again, one by one.
Why does Apple do this?  Do they hate us?

  • Trying to transfer soungs from old ipod to new ipod, received error from

iTunes saying that "Some of the purchase items on ipod couldn't be transfer to itunes library because you're not authorized to play them on this computer" . That being said the computer is authorized already. When I go to authorize the computer I get "This computer is already authorized". Any suggestions?

This is referring to songs purchased from the iTunes Store. It's saying that some of the songs were purchased using a different account than your account. That's why you are not authorized to play those songs.

Your apps are all connected to your Gmail account.  Once you sign in they are supposed to re-install automatically on the new phone (though that doesn't always happen).  If it doesn't happen, you have two options, you can either access the Play Store on your computer here: https://play.google.com/store and click on My Android Apps (top right), then go through them and click install on each one (make sure your new phone is signed into your Gmail account, and open the Play Store on your phone at least once) and they will be pushed to your phone.  Or, you can open the Play Store, then press menu>my apps, then swipe to the right.  This will give you a list of every app you have ever installed, and you can pick which ones to re-install.  I find the computer method to be easier, but hopefully they get pushed to your phone automagically.

  • How can i transfer everything from old iphone4s to new iphone5?

just bought new iphone5, how do i transfer all the apps/contacts/etc from olf iphone4s?

The easiest way is to back up old phone to icloud and then restore new phone from that old phone backup. Any purchased content such as apps and songs from the itunes and apps stores can be downloaded again.
These directions are for an ipad, but the method is the same.

You are trying to use home sharing, you are logged into the same account for sharing on both computers (and they are connected to the same wifi network), and what happens when you try to copy your library ? Can you update your iTunes so that they are the same on both ?
