Trying to transfer songs from ipod classic to new ipod touch. Itunes wont allow device library to load into itunes library?

My daughter received an ipod classic and loade4d some songs onto it from another itunes acct/computer. She also now has a new ipod touch and wants to transfer the songs, but I can't get it to share or add to iyunes librabry?

You need a 3rd party software to copy the iPod data to your PC, iTunes, then sync iTunes to the Touch.

Trying to transfer songs from MacBook Pro to iMac

I'm trying to transfer songs from my MacBook Pro to my new iMac. I want to just copy and transfer the songs to the iMac. What is the easiest and fastest way to do this process? The thing is I still want to be able to play the songs still in my MBP and is it possible to sync to both iMac and MBP?

If you have a 6-pin male-to-male Firewire cable the easiest way is target disk mode.
Start up your MBP holding down the "T" key until you see the firewire logo.
Connect the Firewire cable to the MBP and then the iMac.
The MBP will show up as a external hard drive on the iMac. Go to MBP's Drive/Users/Your username/Music/
Copy the iTunes Library to the same place on your iMac's drive.

I cant synch or transfer songs from ipod to computer - and the instructions are very confusion..."authorized computer" "library menu" ..i cant follow any of the instructions...and whn i try to synch I get a warning that all songs on my ipod wil be erased!

Transfer all the songs from iphone to your iTunes first then sync to your ipod direclty. You can use an ipod to computer transfer program to help. The best way to share music between iphone and ipod is to use your iTunes.

I need to transfer Apps from my iPhone3 to the computer, so I can then get them from the computer to my new iPhone4, however when I try to "transfer purchases from phone to computer" I get a message saying they couldn't be transferred to my library because I am not authorised for them on this computer, even though I purchased all the Apps directly to my iPhone3. This has nothing to do with purchasing/downloading apps direct with the iPhone. This has everything to do with your computer not being authorized with the same iTunes account with iTunes that was used to purchase/download the apps with your iPhone, or there is a problem with this on your computer if already authorized with the same iTunes account with iTunes along with iTunes on your computer being logged in with the same account before doing the transfer.

I had iTunes with lots of songs and all of the songs are on my iPhone. Last week my computer crashed and I had to replace my hard-drive and memory, so I lost all of my music. I am trying to get all of my music back onto my computer and into iTunes. Some of the music was directly purchased from the iTunes store and I was able to transfer those into my iTunes library. But most of my music was burnt onto a CD and transferred to iTunes. When I try to sync my iPhone it says that is only able to sync with one iTunes at a time (i wasn't able to deauthorize my last iTunes due to computer failure) and that if I sync with this new iTunes I just downloaded it would erase everything on my iPhone and replace it with my new iTunes library. All of the music is on my iPhone and not in my iTunes and if I did this it would erase everything. Is there a way to get the songs that I did not purchase from the iTunes store onto my computer from my iPhone without losing any music??

Trying to transfer songs from PC to Mac using home sharing.

I just bought a new Mac and am trying to get my songs from the PC to the Mac. I managed to transfer the songs using Home Sharing, but, when I tried to add the songs to my Library in iTunes, any songs that were not purchased on iTunes (burned from a CD, etc) are greyed out, will not play, will not delete. What gives? Is Apple trying to make me buy my entire library on iTunes?
I'm trying to get these songs to my Mac so I can wipe the music on my iPhone (which was linked to my PC) and manage the music on my Mac. It doesn't seem I'm able to do that either. Does this have something to do with the PC.

When using home sharing you must use the same Apple ID on both machines. It does not mattter what apple id the machine uses to login to iTunes with.
Then you can click on the orange house icon in Shared in the left sidebar of itunes. Select what to import and click import at the bottom right

Yea just like the topic says, my ipod's screen broke but the harddrive is still good and i have another ipod video 30 GB, is it possible for me to transfer the old ipod's files into the new ipod? I had iTunes installed on one computer but the program was removed so I reinstalled it on another computer and thought that the songs on my iPod would automatically be uploaded into iTunes. There was a screen that popped up that asked if I wanted to replace the existing playlist from the old computer with the new libray. I mistakenly selected yes and now all of the songs I had on my iPod are now gone. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get those back somehow? Help me please!

Pressing "Yes" when iTunes brings up the dialogue window asking whether you want to replace the songs on your iPod with the songs in iTunes unfortunately does exactly what it says. If you linked to an empty iTunes it will have erased your iPod as there were no songs to replace yours with. There are some data recovery programs on the market but I don't know how technically or cost effective they are. Here's an example I found using Google : iPod Data Recovery
