tried to update the os and the ipod will not turn on. shows the itune logo and usb cable. every time i have tried to up date the ipod i have problems. how can i get ipod to reset

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

It sometimes has the apple on the screen, or says it needs to be charged, or is all white, black, or yellow. I have tried charging it, leaving it alone for a while and turning it off and back on. Nothing has worked. What should I try to do??? Help please!!!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

See if your Mac will boot from the install DVD.
Then uninstall Internet Cleanup.

Sammyhunter lets get you back in action! Has there been any physical/water damage to the device? Try pressing and holding the home and power button together. Once the Apple symbol appears release both buttons. Keep us posted!

You must have screen rotation locked. Double click the home button then swipe with your finger on the button of the screen all the way to the right. Then you will see a square with a circular arrow or a padlock in it. Tap on that to unlock t he screen.

Now that i turned it off, it will not let me turn my phone back on until i plug it into iTunes. But i have and now its saying that until my iPhone is restored i can not plug it into iTunes. Basic Troubleshooting Steps when all else fails
- Quit the App by opening multi-tasking bar, and swiping the App upward to make it disappear. (For iOS 6, holding down the icon for the App for about 3-5 seconds, and then tap the red circle with the white minus sign.)
- Relaunch the App and try again.
- Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
- Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
- Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
- Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
- Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
- Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

I keep getting an error code of 8803 when trying to empty trash--specifically uninstalled mackeeper and now it will not let me empty the trash of it.

This what happened. I accidentally dropped my iPhone and it blacked out. This same situation happened before, but when I rebooted it then, it worked perfectly fine afterwards. Now that this situation has happened again it is not working at all. I've looked on apple support, but it does not have this type of problem on it the page.
So how can I fix this problem?
