Trying to Update Adobe Reader v6.0.0 on Win9x

I'm trying to locate an Update Package for Adobe Reader v6.0.1. I have the Updates to get from 6.0.2 to 6.0.6, but can't get v6.0.2 or any of the subsequent update to install unless I install v6.0.1 and I can't find it on Adobe's Web Site.
I'm NOT interested in the Full Acrobat Product, just the Reader. I can work with a complete install of v6.0.6 as a Full Reader Product if available.
I've contacted Adobe numerous times to get some help, but they keep pointing me to this Forum.
Hopefully someone can provide me with an Update.
Thank you.

Is there anything else beside the number 2203?
Try removing the current Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, then install 11.0.07 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Adobe Reader won't open  Tried installing updated Adobe Reader and error came up in the process and told me to contact software manufacturer.  Could I uninstall current Adobe Reader and then try installing the current AR?  Any ideas?

My Adobe Reader wouldn't download tickets.  Tried opening Adobe Reader application but it would not open.  I saw my Adobe Reader needed to be updated, so I attempted to install new Adobe Reader.  When it came to finalizing, it said there is an error and can't do.  Any ideas?  I have no functioning Adobe reader.  Should I uninstall old Adobe Reader and then try installing the updated AR?

(Had to step away & do things) I can't even open up the Adobe Reader application to uninstall; get message it won't open. And now have more things needing to be downloaded to print.  Any ideas on how to open the app, so I can uninstall.  I have a MAC OS X 10.9.4  When the installation initially failed I received this message from Adobe, " Adobe Reader Installation Error  Package name Adobe Reader xi (11.0.07)  Installer: installing abase path/installer: The install failed  (The install encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.  Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.)  It did not specify what the error was

I guess  I am not meant to update?
I just about  had it and almost ready to give up.

Uninstall your current Reader version using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html then download and run the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • When I tried to update Adobe reader, I got an error message

When the update for Adobe Reader started automatically, the error it gave me at the end was something like " Failed to write to C:/..." something. Please tell me what to do.

I am sorry for posting the incorrect link; it should have been http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    To clarify my instructions
download the cleaner tool from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html and save it to disk (e.g. your Download folder)
    unzip the file
download the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ and save it to disk
right-click on the extracted cleaner tool AdbeArCleaner_v2.exe and select Run as Administrator
right-click on the downloaded installer and select Run as Administrator
Don't hesitate to ask if there are still things unclear.

  • Trying to update Adobe Reader, keep getting message "must quit applications" though I have nothing open on my computer.

How do resolve this to continue with the update?

    Thank you for your answer
I went to the App Store app and selected "Updates" along the bottom menu. It said 11 updates were available. I then chose "Update All." Before any updates could begin, the message popped up that "This Apple ID cannot be used to make purchases from the iTunes Store." That popped up twice, then the same message with, "Please enter another Apple ID" added. I tried 3 separate times (getting all 3 pop-up messages each time). I then tried updating apps via the App store app on my iPhone 4 and it worked fine. Then I signed into the iTunes store on my computer and bought a song (thankfully one I like ) and that worked fine. I tried on my iPod one more time before finally coming here to post a question.
A few minutes after posting my question (and the reason I came back here, not knowing I'd received an answer) I thought I'd try one more time. This time, it worked with no problem and all the apps updated. So I don't know if somehow my purchasing something in iTunes on my computer helped, or creating this community ID did, or if it was just some temporary glitch. Whatever it was, it's working now.  Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
    Thanks again!

  • Can't launch updated Adobe Reader v10.1.3 in Firefox v3.6.28 in Mac OS X 10.5.8?

    Hello.
Is it me or does the newly updated Adobe Reader v10.1.3 does not load from Firefox v3.6.28 in Mac OS X 10.5.8? This is after I click on any PDF links on a web site. Safari had no problems though!
    Thank you in advance.

It's not about that, I think, as I got the exactly same bug with Firefox 12.0 / OS X 10.7.3 after the last Adobe Reader update.
However, the release notes are interesting, see p. 6: "If you still require a 32-bit solution, this update also supports Mozilla Firefox for Macintosh when it is opened in 32-bit mode."
So, it seems that the last update is pushing the inline viewer (NPAPI?) plugin to 64-bit Firefox, even that it's known that it wouldn't work. In Mozilla forums some had tried to fix this by forcing Firefox to open in 32-bit mode (via Finder -> Applications -> right-click Firefox -> Get Info -> check Open in 32-bit mode), but I'd rather see the bug itself fixed.
Interesting. Where are you seeing this in Mozilla forums? I didn't see anyone talk about this Adobe Reader problem in Firefox newsgroups on news.mozilla.org news server even after I posted my issue.
It's in this bug report: http://support.mozilla.org/fi/questions/925055 - confirmed already by 230 people, by the way...
Sorry to hear that the 32-bit workaround didn't work for you. (I haven't even tested it yet myself, just disabled the plug-in altogether to get the pdf files even loaded to Preview...)

  • I am trying to update Adobe Extension Manager CS5 and I keep getting "There was an error downloading this update. Please quite and try again later."  I have tried again and this keeps coming up?

I am trying to update Adobe Extension Manager CS5 and I keep getting "There was an error downloading this update. Please quite and try again later."  I have tried again and this keeps coming up?

Please do a forum search.  I and others have repeatedly answered this question a whole bunch of times recently.
Bottom line:  the Adobe auto updater is utterly useless in CS5 and prior versions.  You need to download the updates and apply them manually yourself.
I and others have even supplied the links for Mac and Win, which you haven't even bothered to specify.

  • Getting an error message while trying to update Adobe AIR.

I keep getting this error message while trying to update Adobe AIR:
    Sorry, an error has occurred.
This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance.
*Please help me resolve this issue.

Sundeep, I'm getting the same message.
    I'm on OS 10.5.8
I've downloaded the Adobe AIR Installer, but the installer always indicates that it will update Adobe AIR
    Installed: 1.5.2.8870
    Update: 1.5.3.9130
A spotlight search for these two log files produces nothing.
I also followed your instructions here:
Double-click the Terminal application located at /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
    Type cd /Users/userName.
    Type echo > .airinstall.log and/or echo > .airappinstall.log "
But terminal replies with "No such file or directory"

  • Having problems updating Adobe Reader MSI from 10.1.0 to 10.1.4

    Hello,
I have read online that you can slipstream the adobe update into the original 10.1.0 installer.  Here is what I have tried.
I have downloaded the original 10.1.0 MSI file and ran msiexec /a C:\Adobe\Downloads\AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi, which during the admin install, I have installed it into C:\Adobe\AIP
I then run msiexec /a C:\Adobe\AIP\AcroRead.msi /p C:\Adobe\Downloads\AdbeRdrUpd1014.msp, and get the following error message:
This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a  valid Windows Installer package.
If I double click on the MSP file in Windows Explorer, it opens it up and wants to update adobe reader, however I can not get this to work.
Any assistance is appreciated, I don't know what I am doing wrong, tried on two different systems one 32bit and 64bit.
    Craig.

When I say deploy I mean deploy to all my PC's in my domain (350+) via AD.
    What I normally do is:
    1. Extract the Adrobe reader .msi package from the .exe by running the following command:
    E:\AdobeRdr\1014_original\AdbeRdr1014_en_US.exe -nos_o"E:\AdobeRdr\1014_original\Extraction\AdbeRdr1014_en_US" -nos_ne
    2. Emulate a Network install of the .msi package by running the following command:
    msiexec /a E:\AdobeRdr\1014_original\Extraction\AdbeRdr1014_en_US\AcroRead.msi
    3. Emulate a Network install of the .msi packing and apply the update by running the following command:
    msiexec /a E:\AdobeRdr\1014_original\1014wUpdate\AcroRead.msi /p E:\AdobeRdr\1014_original\Extraction\AdbeRdr1014_en_US\AdbeRdrUpd1014.msp
    4. Use the Adobe customisation tool to create a custom .mst file
    5. Copy the extracted folders, .msi, .mst and setup.ini to the \\SHARE
Is there a better way of doing this?
What it looks like to me is Adobe have not updated the product code on the install files, so when I install the .msi it sees the existing one matches the update and generates the error.
I look forward to you feed back reguring the above.

  • How can I stop getting demand to update Adobe Reader when Foxit is set as my default reader?

    Windows XP, Firefox 18.
Foxit is set as my default reader, but you (Firefox) keep demanding I update Adobe reader while blocking Foxit from opening. I do not want the current Adobe reader on my machine. Why won't Firefox respect my choice of default reader?

Hello again, madperson. I spent a lot of time this afternoon trying to get back to you but just couldn't find the right place in Firefox...very frustrating. Have just now found an e-mail w/ link back here.
I am just beginning to get the idea that updated Foxit software is not the same as am updated Foxit plugin for Firefox. Firefox is telling me that I have a Foxit plugin installed, v. 2.2.3.111, but I am not sure how current that is.
I took the link you suggested here (thank you!), which does offer some
Foxit plugins for Firefox. However, the latest seems to be for Foxit 5.3, and the new Foxit software I downloaded today is 5.4. So where does that leave me?
Thank you so much for your help!
