Trying to update camera raw in CS5. I'm using a PC with Windows 7. Its not working. Please Help!
I open photoshop->Help->Updates, then I proceed to download. It reaches the end and then pulls up message "There was an error downloading this update. Pleas quit and try again later." Each time it is the same story. I clicked on the Customer Support link and it brings up

So that was no help. What do I do?

An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it. I just
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -

Make sure you select the correct encryption before you put the password in.

I could not open my camera raw files from canon mark iii with my photoshop CS5. Tried to update Camera raw 6.7 but failed to install. Message said 'There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later'. How could I open Raw files ?

I would imagine your iPhone was hacked to make it work on your local carrier.
Updating the iOs to 5.xx will lock it back to the original carrier .The carrier holding the lock are the only
entity able to authorise the unlock .You will have to contact them and see if they unlock and the terms the apply -

Unfortunately on these days I'm in a country that Apple don't have any retail store here and for sake of time I prefer to fix it myself to DHL it to the nearest country to use its warranty. Do you have any idea how can I fix it? Do you think it's a software issue?

In principle, I agree re: the manufacturer's warranty. However, I am pretty upset that this is now my second iPod to develop a critical fault within weeks of the warranty expiring, and frankly, it is not unreasonable to expect a state-of-the-art $500 electronic device to last well beyond one year of life.
I agree talking to Apple is not likely to do me any good (the clue is in how impossible they make it to talk to them in the first place) - but that is not necessarily OK. I expect I will have to pay money to get the battery replaced - again, not OK (full stop - but especially given the cost of the device and the money I have spent with Apple). Yes, the batteries have a limited lifespan, but it should last longer than this (and surely, I should notice a gradual decline in its functionality, not an instant stop).
I will try Deggie's suggestion (see my reply post), but probably won't hold my breath (think I have already done this). I probably will have to get the new battery - and probably under my own steam. It is a principle at stake and I feel I should be able to let Apple know how I'm feeling - and am frustrated that they make this virtually impossible. It sends the very clear message that they are not interested in listening to their customers. -

Else the only option you have is to fight with the Apple Store "geniuses" to get a free replacement for out of warranty 4S devices. Or try a third party repair like iFixit. The wifi chip might cost you 60-80$ but it is better than paying Apple 200$.
Overheating is the culprit in 4S devices. And its been getting worse with ever successive iOS 7 update. I think 7.0.4 was the final nail in the coffin.
They are not getting my money anymore.. I've had iPhones every since they launched... but no more. Feels like a dead investment after facing this issue. I can never sell my iPhone 4S even if I want to. There have been cases where users just sold their 4S devices, the new owner updated to 7.0.4, wifi stopped working and the seller had to give a refund.
I'm basically sitting on a 650$ white brick. Hmm... I wonder if white bricks sell higher than the standard red bricks

TBH, I can't get a replacement because I am in India where 4S was never launched as an unlocked device and there are no Apple retail stores. Only resellers here like Vodafone/Reliance/Airtel.
