Trying to update Iphone 3 using my Macbook, but I have never connected this phone to the computer before
I have an Iphone 3, I never connected it to my Macbook or ITunes on the Macbook before. Will I lose all of my info on the phone? It asks me to restore/welcome to using new Iphone. I'm assuming I will lose all of my info.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, if Apple simply allowed people to log into different accounts and download content, everyone would be using everyone could share everyone else's content and bypass the need to purchase anything. To protect against this, they limit you to logging into a new account to once every 90 days.
If two or more of you, have different accounts and use only one computer, you should each have your own user account on the computer, to avoid the need to log in and out of iTunes. -
I recently just bought a Toshiba 3TB External Hard Drive. I am trying to partition it on my macbook, but it keeps returning and error message. The only thing I have changed is renamed easy drive.
Your problem is not Boot Camp, in fact, is your optical drive. Win XP requires indeed sp2, but also the internal drive, does not work from external optical drive.
For other possible tricks, please use the appropriate Boot Camp forum, not here. Mac OS X may be installed from both external and internal optical drive and/or internal/external partition of a disk, any disk. Windows is not so generous. -
The screen on my iPhone shattered. Can I get that covered with my apple care if I have never shattered this phone before?

If yours is a 2nd Gen... then iOS 4.2.1 is as far as it goes...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and “ Check for Updates “...
If an Update Appears Install it... if not... you are up to date for your particular Device...

I have an iPhone 4s that is my primary phone that I sync with iTunes on my computer. I would like to use my old iPhone 3s like an iPod. Can I also sync this phone to the same computer and iTunes? My ultimate goal would be to have identical iTunes on both phones. Is this possible?

I have had my iphone 3gs for 3 mths., I have not connected it to my computer to creat a apple id and upload, somebody told me u have to do this right when u get your phone or you will loose everything in your phone. I don't want to loose all my #'s, pictures,texts,etc.

ThanksThey told you incorrectly, although it is not a good idea to rely on the device as a single point of storage.
You must have an Apple ID to purchase content via iTunes, simply log in with that ID in iTunes. Then connect the device and sync it. For detailed instructions, read the manual which is available online or on the device. -
tryed to update my 4s with ios7 downloaded the sofeware but when it tryed to download it to my phone its telling me to coneted my cord and it is coneted?

My iphone 4s will not update to ios 7. I'm trying to update this through my imac because the iphone will also not connect to my home wifi. I've tried several different things but nothing is working. I deleted enough pics and apps so there is enough storage. When i plug it in, it starts to bring all my photos to the imac. I cancel this because i don't want it. It then says extracting software, backing up iphone, then i get the error message. Do I need the iphone 5?
I just tried again, no code comes up on the imac. Just says cannot back up this device with my "initials" because of an error. It's weird because my iphone has been connected to othert wifi sources in the past. I've looked through these forums and have tried multiple things like resetting the phone, resetting network, shutting off modem and router, nothing works. I have an apple airport extreme router too. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Last weekend I went to the Apple store to replace my phone because the WiFi on my phone is nonfunctional. I need to back up to iCloud before I can replace my phone because I have information on there that needs to be saved. The worker at the Apple store said that, since I cannot connect to WiFi, I needed to plug my phone into my computer in order to back up. I went into iTunes and turned iCloud on, but my phone still will not back up to iCloud. So, I need to know exactly how to back up my iPhone to iCloud without WiFi?

Unfortunately, you can't restore an iCloud backup without using wifi so that isn't an option. -
