Trying to update iphone 3GS. I use it only for apps and music. It will not allow me to update through itunes? What do I do?
I have a iphone I do not use as a phone anymore. I use the apps and the music on it though. I downloaded itunes and I am trying to update the phone so I can purchase music and apps for it. When I plug it to the computer it starts syncing and runs a good 20 minutes and then I get an error saying it cannot update and it takes me to a update repair page that does nothing to help. Can someone help me on what to do? I have my own itunes account, I have wi-fi, I have all the songs on my phone I purchased but I cant get it to sync with itunes at all. I can do nothing. Is this usual? Can I do something so I can still use the phone as a Ipod putting new stuff on it or am I stuck with all the old stuff and I can never add anything on it? HELP
To be exact the error says the iphone could not be restored, an unknown error occured (-1). What is that?

The iCloud storage is meant for your backup, you do not get more space on iPhone.
You can by connecting to computer iTunes for update then you will not have space problem -
HI hoping for help pls, laptop was recently repaired& cloned, now will not recognise iphone or ipad, only sees iphone as a camera. You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

I have tried to install icloud 4.0 for windows and again is does not allow syncing with outlook 2013 calendar and contact, using windows 8.1 and IOS 8.02 (get - unexpected error)?
Having same issues. had been syncing every few days with outlook 2007 contacts and calendar but since updated to 4.0.2 and latest itunes I get an error that it is unable to sync. I can't seem to find any solution.

I have an iPhone 4s, and I reset the content and setting. It turned on, I chose English, Australia, and now, I am unable to connect/activate my iPhone through Wi-Fi, and for an unknown reason, it will not allow me to use cellular data or iTunes. I'm not sure of what to do. It's quite frustrating, and all I need is advice, and help. I would much appreciate it. Thank-you.
In order to download to your phone over the air, you need to be connected to WiFi.
It's possible the Internet connection through Verizon is not stable enough for the downlaod to begin (it is a very large download).
You might want to head over to Starbucks with your laptop for the afternoon and see if you can download it over their WiFi. -

I own the iphone 4 and i was using safari and went to google something and my phone froze. My computer is not recognizing my phone when I plug it in, and my charger is not allowing my phone to charge. What can i do to get my phone unfrozen?
Try resetting it: hold the on/off and home buttons 10-20 seconds until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), then release. If it won't reset you may need to put it in recovery mode and restore it as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

Hi, It says I need Aperture 3. which i already have. 10.6.7 is my current OS. I downloaded it from the APP Store a few months ago. I am presently using Aperture 3.1.1 I have read in forums that the problem could be some leftover file from the trial version.. which I never used, so that preference file is not there. I am trying to update to 3.0.2 and eventually to 3.0.3

Use one account for apps and other for itunes match

My question today is quite simple. I use one account for apps and tv shows, but inwant to use a different itunes account for purchasing itunes match. How can I use them both on my devices? Will it be asking for my user-pass each time i play a song? What other thing should i consider?

I have played with this issue a lot. You have to remain signed into match in order for it to show up on your phone. If you sign out to purchase an app or redownload one from your appstore id you use then match will be removed from your phone and when you go into your music app the icloud will not be there. You then have to go sign back out of the store id you used for your app purchase and then sign back into match and everything will have to go though the download to your device process again. This really is not what you want to do.
Sign up to match with the apple id that you know you will use the most or has the most purchased items and use that for all purchases, i.e. books, apps, movies, and music. You don't want to go though the other process.
Plus apple will start not letting you sign into match because you signed out and back in, in to short a period of time.
all store purchases on an iphone are linked to the store id. if you sign out of your match id on the appstore and sign into another account to purchase an app then itunes match will sign out in the music app. You can't have two store id's signed into your iphone at the same time. They are all linked together. -
After I updated to iOS 7, my iCloud account is showing the incorrect email address for my Apple ID but will not allow me to change it- it's gray and I can't click on it. How do I fix this?
If you change your email, you do not need to "change" your AppleID. Just edit your email(s) on your Apple ID by logging in to your AppleID account. You should always use the same AppleID for Apple Services (iCloud, iTunes etc) and multiple ID will cause problems and confusion in the future.

Hi I've just synced my iPhone 5 to my dad's computer to get an album I downloaded on there and it wiped my phone of all of the music and now it will not allow me to get it back how do I get my songs back because every time I comes up with I have to wait 63 days to get it back

Have you tried syncing the iPhone to your computer and restoring from the backup to see if you can get your other songs back? If you purchased the new album with your Apple ID, you should be able to download it to your computer to sync. -
My iPad 2 will not allow me to update my apps. When I hit the update button I get a spinning circle but then it times out and doesn't update. In the past when I have updated successfully, the spinning circle would show me an indicator of time left on the update. I no longer have this Indicator. The circle just spins and times out and nothing happens. I've reset the iPad in the settings menu, reset the router, logged in and out of Apple id, powered ithe iPad off and on, and tried a couple other "fixes" that I've read online. So far no luck. AAny help would be greatly appreciated. Much thanks!
How much free space do you have? If it is low, installers may not be able to run properly.

OS 10.9.2 will not allow me to update my old iPhoto app. I upgraded computer from a PowerBook G4 to a MacBook Pro and migrated my data onto the new machine. I had iPhoto '09 installed running on 10.5.8.Now on 10.9.2 and I get get a message that iPhoto was registered to another user and that I will need to purchase my own copy. Not sure why since I've always used the same account and its my only account. Isn't Mavericks supposed to come pre-loaded with the latest version of iPhoto?

open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
