Trying to update iphone to 5.0 and after going through the entire download, I get the message that "the Network Connection timed out". Check my network settings. Help!

I have been having this problem for many many months. I switched off my firewall and windows firewall and i am still having the same problems.
Apple store were not helpful in anyway and im at my wits end :-(

Well, first, why are you running such ancient versions of Firefox as 3.6? i would immediately update to Firefox 15.0.1 as Firefox 3.6.28 is no longer supported and is critically insecure.
As for the dreamweaver thing, I'm not sure this is a Firefox issue, so I'd check again after updating Firefox.

Doublechecking before proceeding. Is it saying the older version of Apple Software Update cannot be removed, or some other program? (Several different program names can be mentioned in this context.)

Hi, are you doing it through Settings or via iTunes? If doing it through Settings, try plugging it in via USB and updating with iTunes. Hope this helps.

institution in that country with a verified billing address in that country.
It is the developer's choice which AppStores he makes his app available

If you get an error message that you do not have sufficient permissions to update then easiest is to trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

I own a website and my customers download zipped files. Until yesterday everything worked great. All of the sudden they are getting a message that the file is invalid or corrupt. This does not happen in Chrome.

You can get a "Corrupted Content Error" error if there are multiple location redirects send via the HTTP response headers.

Check for any anti-virus or anti-spyware software you might have. Temporarily disable that to continue. Normally this is what will cause a timeout. I assume you have a good Internet connection?

I keep getting a message stating my internet connection timed out when trying to sign in to the iTunes store.

Any update will cause problems for a few users. And those users will rush here and post "the sky is falling" stories about their experience. The 99.99% of people who have no problems after an update won't bother to post here; indeed, most of them don't even know ASC exists. FWIW, I had no problems with iOS 7 on my 4S. Your problem is most likely not related to iOS 6, but you should probably update anyway. It has the error range of 3000's which states

If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again. Error 3194 most likely indicates you do not have the latest version of iTunes installed Update to the latest version of iTunes.

If you did the update through iTunes, try going into the Settings App on your iPhone and doing the Software Update in there. The same thing happened to me, and the wireless update worked.

Hi christeag,
The only thing I can identify as an issue is that your Windows Firewall is running and iTunes is not enabled in it, so this may be the source of your issue. Here is an article for you that will help you rectify this situation:
