If rhe apps and photos are that important you made sure that you took the steps in order to keep them safe in an event like this didn't you?
You did backup the iPad before you decided to update the iPad correct?
And you did transfer all of your apps and other purchases into iTunes before you decided to update correct?
If you did, just restore the iPad and then restore from the backup at the end of fhe process and follow that with a sync with iTunes and you will lose nothing,
Now if you didn't do any of the precautionary steps ....

Well, we can't as we don't know what you consider as "more than enough". The built is quite heavy (like it can be 800mb) then it needs to be extracted to be installed before everything unneeded gets deleted...

Open the Settings app & select General. How much Available space do you have?
You may have to delete some files (videos) to obtain more space.

All of your content should be on your computer in itunes. If it is not, then transfer it there, so you can sync it back.

Hi,
You need to sign in when using Photoshop Elements 12 as it is the method of activation. If you sign out it deactivates that installation.

Can you check that your Wi-Fi connection is working correctly?
Do you get that error right away at the beginning of the download or much later?
Have a look whether there is plenty of free space (several gigabytes) on your iPad to receive the new iOS 7 upgrade. Remember that the upgrade is downloaded in a compressed form.
It's difficult for me to give precise advice without knowing what caused the error.
If all fails, try to do the upgrade via iTunes with your iPad connected to your computer.

I turned it on again, and tried updating it again, but it still did the same thing. Then, the next time, I switched it on and it said plug into iTunes. I plugged it into iTunes and all it says is 'Recovery mode' and it just gave me the option "Restore iPad..."
Is this is a known error? What ought I to do?
