Trying to update my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 with iTunes, I get a pop up saying I need to update iTunes, but it is the latest version.
I'm trying to update my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 through iTunes. I get a pop out saying that I need to update to the latest version of iTunes. The problem is that I already have the latest version of iTunes. Is this a sign of overwhelmed servers or is this something different?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Go to iTunes.com, then click on Download iTunes on the top right area, then on the next screen make sure it states iTunes 11.1 on the left side and email is not necessary then click on download now in the blue button. Issue should be resolved

I had the same problem. My phone wasn't finding it so I tried plugging it into my laptop and it said I needed the latest iTunes which I already had.... I unplugged my phone from my laptop and did a soft reset to my phone (hold down the lock button and home button at the same time until your phone turns off) once it turns back on you should find the update... Click general... Software update. Worked for me!

I have an iPhone 4 that I just updated today to ios 6, now when I go to back up the phone to my PC, it says it can't because I don't have the latest version of iTunes. But i have iTunes 10. Please advise.
There is an updated version number 10.7.0.21 that is available if you go to the iTunes link here on Apple.com. It won't show up under Apple Software Update and if you check for updates via iTunes it likely won't show either.

I currently am running 3.1 but would like to update it to the 4.1 version (not the latest 4.3 version). How do I do this? I have already gone online and downloaded the 4.1 firmware for iPhone 3G but not sure how to install it. I unzipped the file then tried to do the Shift>Update trick but none of the downloaded files could be selected. Am I doing something wrong?There is no official way to do what you want, that's why the files can't be selected. iOS 4.2.1 is the last officially signed firmware available for your phone. If you want to install any other firmware you'll have to go elsewhere for instructions as such cannot be discussed here, per this forum's terms of use, sorry.

Are you sending from your iCloud Mail address? And do you have two-step verification enabled?
If you had two-step verification enabled, you have to set up an app-specific password for iPhoto, if you want to use iPhoto as a Mail client.

This solution is for those of you using 2-step verification for your Apple ID and are using iCloud as the mail server that you are trying to mail photos with.
I too had this issue. The problem in my case occurred because I had setup 2-step authentication for my Apple ID. If you have done this then you will get the error message "the mail server did not recognize your email/password...". To solve the problem go to:
https://appleid.apple.com
Click "Manage Your Apple ID"
Verify your identity with the device you selected (if this step does not show up then you have not likely set up 2-step authentication and this is not your solution)
Click Password and Security in the left column
Click Generate an app-specific password
Enter iPhoto as the name of the app
Copy the password and paste this into the password box in iPhoto where you would normally enter your apple ID (in the mail account section in iPhoto preferences).

After updates to Pages and several other applications I received an update to Mavericks 10.9, all of which were downloaded and uploaded to my MacBook Pro. After the uploads I created a document in Pages which I saved to my folder. Now when I try to open it I get a message that says I need the latest version of Pages to open this document. What do I need to do to reload the last update to Pages so I can open my document?
In both cases you have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Judging from sterling r's response Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

If you are running iWork '09 (iWork 09 9.0.1) on your Mac with Numbers 2.3, you must at least have MacOS X 10.5.6 installed.

Yahoo mail tells me to upgrade Safari but I already have the lastest version of Safari. Is there a compatability problem with the Safari 6.0.1 and the latest version of Yahoo mail?
Since Yahoo is web based email, the compatbility issue is on the Yahoo side, not Apple.
You can access your Yahoo account without having to use Safari.
Open the Mac Mail app. From the menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.

You don't. the ipad is not a backup/storage device. it simply mirrors the selected content of your computer. The sync is one way - computer to ipad. The only exception is itunes purchases.
Did you fail to maintain a backup copy of your computer?
If so, not good.
You may be able to purchase a third party program, not supported by Apple, to get the other music. -

I keep getting an alert on tge App Store icon that I have an update available. But, when I get to iTunes to update, I get a message that "the item I chose is no longer available." The item/app shows up on the updates page but I can't seem to update it or even delete it! Suggestions?
If you hold your finger on the Craiglist App, until all Apps Jiggle, do you get an X on the upper right hand corner of the app and if you touch the X, does the app not delete? If you can delete it, you can redownload it and you'd get the current version.

The computer I had been previously using simply would not recognise that iOS5 was available (it was a Windows PC; this is my first apple computer.)
