While trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOs6 it froze on the connect to itunes screen and i needed to do a restore. But it restored my phone to january 2011 even though i just backed my phone to my laptop up 2 weeks ago. I still have all my contacts but i lost a lot of apps and text messages. Is there any way to make it restore to my most recent back up?
I tried powering down and re-starting the iPhone (as suggested at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275). This seems to have cleared the "...not connected to the Internet" problem, and iOS 6.1 is now in the process of downloading.
Thanks very much for your feedback.

I tried to restore my Apple TV. It froze on a connect to iTunes screen and showed an image of a USB cord. Now it is frozen there. Any ideas?
Did you try restore from teh AppleTV menu connecetd to TV.
If so sounds as though something went wrong.
Hook up to a computer using a micro USB cable alone, run iTunes and select the AppleTV to restore:

What do i do now? i tried everything, when i plug my iphone cable into my com, it shows me the connect to itunes screen, when i unplug it it turns off and when i turn it back on it stays the same. help pls
You should not need DFU mode - you phone is already in recovery mode - you just need to restore it in itunes. If you unable to restore you need to try another computer - preferably other network as well. If it is still not restored - it is a hardware problem.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

My Ipad is stuck on the connect to iTunes screen, I have tried plugging into iTunes but it makes the necessary noise but the computer does not recognise it and nothing alters on the Ipad screen. Have tried various computers and leads and it still does not work. Have also tried the switching off, plugging in to computer and turning on again using the on button and then the home button but nothing works. This happened while I was downloading software update. Please help me.
I suggested several things to GeekyNerdGirl in her first post here. Take a look.
My iPad is in what seems like permanent restore mode after iOS 7.2 update?
It can take more than a few attempts before Recovery Mode will work and you have to follow the steps exactly. DFU mode is even harder to perform correctly beside of the 10 second hold. Don't stop trying. Eventually one of these methods could work for you. -
My phone is stuck on the connect to itunes screen when i started to update it and when i connect it to itunes nothing happens. What do i do to fix it ?
Hold down the Home and Power button to shut off the iPhone. Keep it disconnected from the computer. Then, hold down the Home for 20 seconds. Connect it to the computer while continuing to hold down the Home button. Wait for iTunes to say your iPhone is in Recovery mode. Then, restore.

Just after updating Draw with Friends, my iPhone got the "Panic, just haning here" message. I tried to reset it and it got stuck on the screen with the usb connect to iTunes. When I connected to iTunes on my Mac, it kept giving an error message that the phone connected could not be restored because it was in recovery mode, recover then connect. The phone wouldn't recover... I finally got it to connect to iTunes by holding down the home and power buttons, connecting to computer and then let the power button off as soon as the apple appeared. It took all night to download the restore for the phone, then when I hit the restore iPhone button, it gets half way done and gives the message" The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (14).

My iPhone 4 stuck in the "connect to iTunes" screen after trying to update to iOS 7
Hey guys.
So i have a pretty big problem here. Today after a little bit of work I updated my iPhone 4 to the new iOS 7. I went to bathroom at some point, while my phone was updating, and when i returned the screen of iPhone showed the "connect to iTunes screen" and no matter what I did, it just stayed there. iTunes doesn't recognize my phone anymore, doesn't matter how many time I plug it in and out. I tried this thing: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 ,but it did not worked. I tried reinstalling my iTunes, but it did not work either. If the little things matter I left "lauch iTunes" box unchecked after reinstallation. Any help apriciated guys, im desperet here.YESSSSSSS HUGE PROBLEM!
Iphone 4 downloaded ios 7 i hit the install button and the phone entered recovery mode and hasnt woke up since, tried tiny umberella and it wont kick it out of recovery mode. Itunes recognizes it in recovery mode, hit update restore, after the update nothing pops up or happens, and right back to square one like i never even updated or restored.
Help pleaseeee -
So after updating iTunes and attempting to update my iPod Touch, a message came up telling me the update for my iPod had failed. I checked my iPod to see that it was now showing the "Connect to iTunes screen", and was no longer showing up on iTunes.
I then:
Restarted my computer
Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
Attempted to put my iPod into recovery mode.
None of these made any difference. Any help on what to do?Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
