Trying to update tp Internet Explorer 11

I am trying to update to Internet Explorer 10 or 11.  I keep getting the message that I need to install Windows7SP! or Server 2008R2SP!.  I have tried to download from the downloads in Windows. I download what it tells me to do but it still isn't
working and I keep getting the same error message.  What do I need to do?

Hi,
As your description, you should first check whether the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is successfully installed:
Right click at the computer icon then click properties you will see the Windows Service pack 1 information shown.
Then restart the computer and manually download the Internet Explorer and install it:

  • The new flash player update crashes internet explorer and firefox

The new flash player update crashes internet explorer and firefox, please send a new release to fix the problem ASAP!

ok   here's more mystery.  i just uninstalled and reinstalled flash player using the adobe uninstaller and rebooting after each step.  aqlso installed latest java.  i started looking at videos and here are the ones that worked: you tube
                                                                                           imdb
                                                                                           hulu
                                                                                           ebaumsworld
here are the ones that didn't work:    yahoo
                                                                                           msn
                                                                                           reuters
here are the ones that partially worked: the blaze (works on videos that originate from you tube, but not from news stories)
bing (work on videos from their video section - entertainment type, but not from news videos)
the common thing here seems to be that news type videos crash and entertainment type don't.  also videos seem more likely to crash on internet portals like yahoo

  • Win 7 Pro updates to Internet Explorer 11 every web page has blank frames and radio buttons. Updates show only IE11.

This entry frame on your page has radio buttons, giving me some editing functions - Bold, Italic, Underline, Insert unordered List, Insert Ordered List, Insert Hyperlink, Remove Hyperlink, Insert HTML, etc... but
I cannot see them.  Ever since updating Internet Explorer to ver 11, there is no going back to IE8.  Your Tech forum monitors keep rehashing the same links that do not answer this snafu.  Your Monitors suggest that the web sites are not running
because they are not compatible with the newer versions of Internet Explorer - well, even Microsoft's websites?  When you create a new web interface, why would your coding team make it incompatible with your own company's sites?
The Monitors suggest our cards can't handle GPU and we should turn to software rendering.  My card is a GeForce GTX 50 TI and has, according to the manufacturer web site: "Microsoft®  DirectX® 11 Support
DirectX 11 GPU with  Shader Model 5.0 support designed for ultra high performance in the new API’s  key graphics feature, GPU-accelerated tessellation."
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE and Microsoft must realize no customer wants to have the technical side string them along with pointless and futile misdirection to a garble of automatic chat responses that offer incomplete and unrelated fixes
and then expect to gain points in the voting buttons that "this fixed my problem".
Microsoft: you are ignoring compatibility problems with your coding and pretending it is arises from hardware incompatibility or user stupidity.  Your code should be running seamlessly, should accommodate existing technologies, and be flexible enough
to accept limitations of older hardware, older websites, and your monitors should march into Microsoft's development offices and demand answers ---- and fixes.  Has Microsoft gone into hiding when the latest technology show-piece isn't working for the
rest of the world?  We do not exist in a research bubble.  We are here in the real world, with aging equipment and tight budgets, and we expect better from Microsoft.

    Hi ohernova,
Sorry for the annoying issue you encountered and our develop team are trying our best to improve the performance of MS products, As I know, IE 11 was published after many technical tests, thus I suspect that it might be an individual case. I used to run
IE 11 in my win7, and it works perfectly,
Here’re some test you may take into consideration:
Make sure that you’ve installed all latest updates.
Since your Monitors keeps suggesting that the web sites are not running because it’s a compatibility issue, I suggest you add one site to the compatibility view list for a test, (if you can find the settings in Tools>Compatibility view settings)
Or click Win+F12, launch the F12 developer tool, click the last option, change the user agent string and document string to “10”, check whether the page can revert to normal.

  • How can I update the Internet Explorer on a Powermac G3?

It's running Mac OS 8.5.1. and I recently took this beautiful machine out of the closet and tried getting it up and running again just to mess around with. But when I try to use Internet Explorer (4.01) I get a message saying "A script error occured. Some scripts on the affected page may not work correctly. Do you want to continue running scripts on the affected page?" Can this maching handle Safari? If not, how can I update IE as the furthest it can handle?
And on a sidenote, I want to update the software as far as possible as well as clear the hard drive of all that old unecessary junk, does anyone know what to do or how to handle that? I don't have any of the old disks to use.

    OK, thanks for the info.
I still have this model ( not active) still laying around.
How far do you want to go?
I'll suggest the max upgrades you can do to this Mac.
If you want to get the absolute most out of this Mac, these Macs had removable, upgradeable CPU ZIF cards.
Search eBay to see if there are any of these available for the old G3.
A company called Sonnet Technologies offered ZIF upgrades for the G3 such as G3 500 MHz ZIF cards, 1 Ghz ZIF card as well as a G4 1 Ghz ZIF card upgrade.
If you want to ry and install OS X, on these old machines, OS X had to fit on the first 8 GBs of the main drive.
A 6 GB drive won't leave a lot of left over room aftef installing OS X.
I believe your Mac can take up to any internal EIDE drive size under 128 GBs in size.
You can still by this size of drive new. You would need to create an OS X partition that is slightly under 8 GBs in size as a boot partition for OS X. The other partition/s can be what you want them to be.
You can also improve the Macs video card.
If you want to improve this Mac's video, again turn to eBay. Look for the Original ATI Radeon Mac Edition card.
No ATI number. This was considered the best and fastest card for that series Mac.
There was another card, The ATI Radeon 7200 Mac Edition card. This card while have more VRAM, was considered a slower video card. It does work, though in this model Mac.
Another thing you can add to the PCI slots, USB 2.0 and FireWire 400 cards.
I used cards from a company called Adaptec.
Adaptec made combo USB 2.0/FireWire Combo PCI card or seperate PCI cards for both USB 2.0 and FW.
    Again, eBay is your friend.
Another PCI card that would be handy. You can have faster Ethernet by installing a PCI 10/100 Ethernet card into this ole' gem.
If you can find full retail versions of OS X 10.2 Jaguar and/or OS X 10.3 Panther, you can have OS X up and running on this Mac and have a capable Mac up and running with the Internet with some success.
Here's a link to OS X 10.3 Panther on CD

    http://store.fastmac.com/product_info.php?cPath=10_5_7&products_id=202
Here is a link for OS X 10.2 Jaguar on CD
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00006F7S2/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condit ion=used
Here's another link to the ATI video card you can upgrade to
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00005QVMC/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condit ion=used
This will give you an idea of just how far upgrading this Mac you could go.
Amazon and eBay are your friend.

  • Internet Explorer 9 not showing as not installed when using Windows Update - Error: Code 9C48 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.

I built a few new Windows Server 2008 R2 with SP1 VMs today and ran into a problem where Windows Update is not detecting the fact that Internet Explorer 9 is already installed. Internet Explorer 9 keeps showing up as an available update when
using Windows Update. When I try to install it as a test I get the error message: Code 9C48 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
My normal build procedures include applying all the patches for the OS prior to any other work on the servers. The way I like to do the patching is to do every update other then IE9 in the begininng and once all the other updates have been
completed, install IE9 and then patch it if there are updates available. I followed this procedure on every build for the last year and I have not run into any issues until today. The only difference today is the latest patches that were released yesterday
April 10th, 2012. To test the theory that it may be one of the latest patches, I reinstalled Windows from scratch making sure to format the disks and then I installed IE9 right after the OS install without any other updates. Once the
server was rebooted, I checked Windows Update and Internet Explorer 9 still showed up as update (Not the Cumulative Update which normally shows up after an IE9 install) and yes, I did make sure to click the 'Check for Updates' link before I looked just
in case. My next test was to patch a couple of the servers I had built prior to April 10th, 2012. Those servers did not have any issues with the latest updates and they are not experiencing the same behavior as the newly built servers.
I ended up comparing the IE9 Version on the cleanly install OS (No updates were installed except IE9) and the servers I built last week which were patched. The versions are exactly the same.
My findings above lead me to believe that there is a problem with the latest IE9 install package (which includes the latest cumulative update) and the Windows Update detection component.
I guess I am looking for someone to report this up the chain to get this fixed so no one else runs into this problem. I know in some cases we may not be able to see additional IE9 updates until this is resolved.

I just started having the same problem.
I was creating a new VM in Vsphere from our 2008 R2 SP1 image and it hasn't been updated and repacked in a while, so i have to install about 60 updates, including IE9.
I went through my normal setup as i had just created 2 VMs and updated them on Monday with no problem.
I got the same error code as you. The install looks like it installed IE9, but the update is still showing up as available in Windows Update.
I deleted the VM, created a new one, chose all updates except IE, then did that and it still shows up again.
Then i deleted the VM, installed just IE 9 and it still shows up as available on reboot.
I have a script that i can use to reset/clear WSUS cache on the computer, (Software distribution folder, and the windows update log, and recreates a certificate), so i tried that and then rebooted and it still showed up.
I then decide ok, maybe the Image got messed up somehow, so i started creating a new 2008 R2 install from scratch last night and chose to update just IE9 as the first install. I did that, rebooted and it didn't show up in Windows Updates, so i though GREAT.
I proceed to kick off the 100+ downloads needed before i left and left the console up.
When i got in to work this morning, the updater seemed stuck on 31 of 102 updates, this one in particular: KB288516. I rebooted the computer, because it wouldn't stop and just seemed stuck since last night, which these updates should only have taken about
an hour to install at most. I log back in and sure enough, it now shows Internet Explorer 9 at the bottom of the update list as being needed for install.
I believe this is Patch Tuesday week, so maybe they screwed up something with the Windows Update detection engine, because it worked fine on Monday when i had to update IE9 on 2 VMs that i created.

  • Internet Explorer issues after installing Update KB2955163 on Windows 8

    Dear,
Since we've installed Windows update KB2955163 on Windows 8, we've been experiencing the following issues:
    - After using Internet Explorer for a long while (one hour or longer), some websites won't work properly anymore. For example: list boxes and pop-ups don't appear.
    - After using Internet Explorer for a long while (one hour or longer), employees can't access any external webpages. They receive a message saying the webpage isn't available. Reconfiguring the Proxy-settings will temporarily fix this problem.
*The above problems don't appear on all of our computers running Windows 8.
We've found the only fix for these problems, is to uninstall Windows update KB2955163.
All of our affected systems are running Windows 8 Enterprise x64, and come from various manufacturers (Dell / HP etc.).
Is anyone of you guys familiar with these specific issues regarding Windows update KB2955163?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Thom

    Hi,
Did this issue occur on all computers which installed that update?
In generally, it's not most likely be Windows update cause.
    Let's narrow down the issue:
Have you tried to reset the Internet Explorer to check the result:
1.Close all Internet Explorer windows that are currently open.
2.Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar. Changing your settings will affect both Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer for the desktop.
3.Tap or click the Tools button, and then tap or click
    Internet options.
4.Tap or Click the Advanced tab, and then tap or click
    Reset.
5.In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, tap or click Reset.
6.When Internet Explorer finishes applying default settings, tap or click
Close, and then tap or click OK. You'll need to restart your PC for these changes to take effect.
If it persists, perform a clean boot to see if it caused by some third-party software:

  • Adobe 8.1 stops after Internet Explorer 10 update

Adobe Pro 8.1 stopped functioning today.  Oddly this happened immediately after an automatic update of Internet Explorer 10 (that happened during the night without permission). Can this be fixed without deleting Explorer or returning my system to a prior date?
Is it time to move on to an Adobe Pro upgrade or new product?  Or could this still be a problem with the upgrade?

It would be useful to know if you are talking about Acrobat or Reader, there is no Adobe. Since you said Pro, I assume you mean Acrobat. What OS are you using? What do you mean it stopped functioning -- that can mean a lot of different things and it helps to tell us what you were trying to do to say it does not function? It may be that you only need to repair Acrobat and do any updates that are available.
As for IE10, expect to have to print to the Adobe PDF printer or use the MS plugin (I think it works with IE) to create PDFs.

  • Internet Explorer 11 not opening iframes after KB3032359 update

Basically: Internet Explorer 11 not opening iframes(src is same program folder) after KB3032359 update. (Chrome or Firefox opens all iframes)
We have web solution on Windows 2008 .NET 4 version, wroten C# (Visual Studio 10). Program has left side menu (Panels, menu items have link button, link buttons onclick methods in .cs file. Onclick methods change center iframe source location. ( frm_center.Attributes.Add("src",
    "page2.aspx")  )
Microsoft publish some updates 11.03.2015 date. One update is (MS15-018 - Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (3032359) - Critical - Remote Code Execution) for IE11 security fixes. Including one fix for iframe freaks.
After installed this update (Windows 7 Professional 64 bit) IE11 opening our web solution site, after login everything is ok (head section, left menu, center iframe are correct), but when clicking some item in left menu, iframe is not changing source location.
(1 day ago IE is ok, no problem).
Have idea for this iframe problem ?

We have noticed similar change in behavior with KB3032359.
Here is one such scenario where it is broken starting with this patch. It looks like plugins are no longer able to access various javascript objects when in compatibility mode.
    Two things to start with:
    1. The site is in compatibility mode
    2. The Adobe SVG plugin is installed and being used.
The actual issue is in an much more complicated application that must be run in compatability mode with the Adobe SVG Plugin.
But here is the issue boiled down:
    =================== test.html

  • Do I need Internet Explorer security updates if I use Firefox?

    Hello!
I cannot find an answer to this question through a Google search so I'm asking it here please. I'm using Windows 7 and see lots of regular updates for Internet Explorer being installed. But I never use Internet Explorer, I only use Firefox. So I wanted to know, will I be putting my Firefox security at risk by not installing Internet Explorer updates released through Windows Upate? Does a flaw in one browser affect another?
    Thank you!
    Alice.

Thank you for your quick reply jscher2000. Your advice makes sense, I'll keep updates for Internet Explorer going. It was just something I was curious about. For example, if someone used both Firefox and Chrome, would a flaw in one affect another? And whilst Googling earlier for an answer for my question before posting (didn't want to waste anyone's time with a repetitive question), I noticed some people have completely uninstalled Internet Explorer, so presumably they won't even be offered any IE updates.
    Thanks again!
    Alice.

Do you know how can I solve my issue ?
Can I provide you some debug log to help you ? (And how can I get these debug log ?)
Please found a list of all the update which have been done last night. Hope this will help you.

  • Internet Explorer 9 Update

    Hi,
We have 80 Clients with Windows 7 and IE8. I want to update the IE on IE9, but i cant find the Update in WSUS unter All Updates. I find only Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 für Windows 7, but the Clients dont need this updates cause IE8
is installed on it. Maybe is the WSUS configuration faulty, i dont know.. or does i need another update first to have the IE9 update?
    Best regards

    Hi Miro,
Steps to deploy IE9 using WSUS are listed in the article below
