Trying to upgrade to Photoshop CC from Elements 9!

I keep getting a message to turn off elementsAutoAnalyzer.exe and dynamiclinkmanager.exe.  How do I do that or should I just delete elements 9?

Terminate the processes in task manager.

  • I have upgraded to Photoshop CC from Elements but I am completely lost with without my organiser...

How do I import my Elememts catalogue and where is the organiser in Photoshop CC?

You don't. Photoshop CC don't use catalogs. Bridge accesses the files directly on your hard drive.
If you would a catalog, Lightroom uses one.

It's important to keep in mind that the picture files are NOT stored in the Organizer. They are not stored in Lightroom or Bridge either...
The organizer is based on a catalog which stores the pictures properties, mainly the location of the pictures on your drive(s). It's the same idea of catalogs in Lightroom, and the nice thing is that Lightroom can convert organizer catalogs to its own format. The most obvious way for you will be to use Lightroom.
Bridge is a file browser which is a different way than to use catalogs.

Are you referencing your Photoshop image files, or Photoshop application files?
If the latter, cease and desist at once!
Always install Photoshop from scratch, from the original media: CD/DVD or download.
If the former, please provide details:

    Hi Werner,
Since you were able to successfully install PS13, can you please suggest what is happening when you are trying to open the Product? Are you getting a splash screen or is it not even giving that? Try to disable the graphics card & Switching back to the On board graphics and try again.

  • HELP !!!! Can you upgrade to photoshop sc5 from creative suite 3?

I bought adobe creative suite 3 like 2 years ago. I just bought a new mac and want to upgrade my photoshop that came in the creative suite from cs3 to cs5. I tried to do it but it would not let me and gave me an error. I started doing some research and am wondering if I need to upgrade my whole creative suite from 3 to 5, Or can I just up grade my photoshop cs3 with photoshop cs5?

Or, it looks like now you can rent Photoshop month-to-month:

  • Free Upgrade to Photoshop CS6 from CS5.5 upon release

I Purchased Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 production Premium (Student License) a month ago understanding that a free upgrade to Photoshop CS6 MAC. when available. How do I upgrade to CS6 now that it is released.

    I’m in the same boat.
I knew this would happen so I sent in a support ticket and got a case number on the 22nd. I was told that I do qualify for the cs6 upgrade but I would have to wait. So I did and guess what – nothing came.
I spent the better part of an hour in chat and while they have agreed there is an issue and have “escalated” my problem to the “offline team”, they are now away for Memorial Day and I won’t hear back until at least Tuesday.
All I wanted was a link to my promo code or an explanation – I didn’t get either and now the studio I've booked out sits vacant all weekend.
I cannot imagine letting a client twist in the wind without delivering their project or an explanation as to why an extension is needed – It’s unfathomable. If Adobe cannot stick to their deadline they need to change it or explain why BEFORE the deadline passes. A simple email would suffice and any adult with any business experience would agree that this just is common sense.
What will Adobe do now? I predict I’ll get a form letter apology ( that’s not worth near the $300 I lost this weekend )  and finally a link to my promo code. No mentions of compensations or added value for my trouble.
Enjoy your extended weekend kids – status quo starts back on Tuesday...

  • Trying to upgrade to Indesign 4 from PM6.5

Have finally found the courage to upgrade to a new computer and open my Indesign CS4 box. I know I bought it a couple of years ago but have never got round to running anyhting but PM 6.5 under Windows xp.
However it won't let me install and upgrade as it wantsmy  Pagemake serial number. I haven't installed PM6.5 on this new machine as it now runs windows 7 but have got the old serial number which I have entered ( correctly!) several times, with and without hyphens but CS4 just won't recongnise the number and having trawled the Adobe website for a contact number for uk or even an email contact I am about to give up!
Can anyone help please? Even a contact number for Adobe would be great.
    Janet

If you're the owner of the PM-product, and if you've registered it, Adobe can look that up and give you a serial number which works. I know that at some point in the past they changed the way the serial numbers were written on the box. As I said, I had the same problem, I called customer service and after having given the pm serial number they mailed me a working number for the installation.
Normally, when ID asks for the original PM disk, you can remove the ID disk and replace it with the PM disk, wait untill the installers starts, then remove again and it should continue with the ID installation (this is the theory, in practice it's a nightmare to get it running).
The "non valid" messages can indeed mean that you've upgraded to pm6.5 from an older version, try locating that disk or better, the serial number of it.

  • Trying to upgrade iPod Touch 4G from 4.2.1 to 5.0.1...

I have been having problems with my home button since late Dec 2011 (about a week before the warranty ran out). This week the button decided to completely die on me (I tried fixing it with rubbing alcohol and compressed air, nothing made a difference). I have been trying for 2 days now to upgrade to iOS5 so I can use the assistive touch on screen home button. I have a 64 bit Windows 7 system that is new and clean. I upgraded to iTunes 10.5.3 through iTunes itself (that was a fight). I did all my syncs and back ups. Then I tried to update my iOS through iTunes. I keep getting a 'connection timed out' error after anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes into the download. I've tried disabling my anti-virus and firewall, nothing changed. I tried running iTunes diagnostics and its telling me that the connecting to the firmware server was unsuccessful (connection timed out). So I tried to do a fresh install on a Windows XP machine that I use only for internet (not bogged down with tons of files and programs). This machine never had iTunes on it. That took half the morning to even get that to work, but I had the same outcome as on my other machine. I've tried downloading the IPSW file from many different sites. When I go to load that file on through iTunes (shift+click on upgrade or restore), it tells me that it cannot upgrade because the firmware is not compatible. I double and triple checked that I had the firmware for iPod Touch 4G (and yes, I have a 4G). I started iTunes in safe mode and am trying the download only now...so far its been downloading, but as I type this it is probably doing the connection timed out thing (yep, before I even hit Post Message). The computer is wired to the router, I could try a direct wire to the modem, but I don't know if that'll help. So I do not know what else to do. Anyone have any suggestions? I just want to get my iPod up and running with the on screen home button...

    Prita wrote:
I want to update my current iOS from 4.2.1 to 5.0.1 for the Assistive Touch feature that allows you to have an on screen home button
I tried downloading the file myself (not through iTunes), making sure I got the iPod 4G file. Go into iTunes and install it and it says it cannot upgrade because the firmware is not compatible
iOS 4.2.1 - there's a clue. It begs the question about which model of iPod you have. Yes, I know you said:  (and yes, I have a 4G) by which I assume you're saying that you have a 4th generation Touch, but are you sure? This has been claimed before by people who then discover that they do not have a 4th gen Touch. Which size Touch do you have and what is the model number on the back of your iPod? If it says model A1288, that's a 2nd generation iPod Touch. Check this page  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353 for help in identifying your model of iPod.
The second clue - and the reason I've mentioned all this, is that you then say you have downloaded the file yourself but "it cannot upgrade because the firmware is not compatible." In other words, iOS 5.0 cannot be used with your iPod. That also suggests that you have 2nd gen Touch.
Persumbaly, you have tried connecting the Touch to iTunes and selecting "check for updates?" What does it say?

  • Upgrade to Photoshop CS5 from CS3/CS2/6.0

I purchased Adobe Photoshop 6.0, then upgraded to CS2, then CS3.
    Can I upgrade to CS5?
If so, can I install the trial and later activate it once I have the key?
Since the key is an upgrade key, what is it going to ask for to verify the fact that the CS3 version (which was an upgrade) was based on a full retail version?
The reason for all these questions is that I'm going to be upgrading from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. I'd like to just install Photoshop CS5 and try it out, then order the upgrade to complete the install later. I'm concerned about an upgrade not being appropriate (1) and a need to install Photoshop CS3 completely and then run the update to CS5. If I have to do that, I may just install CS3 after my Windows upgrade.
Thanks in advance for your responses. While I did see some questions about upgrading, I missed this exact scenario if it was previously posted.

The upgrade process is really quite straightforward these days - even on a new box which has never previously had Adobe software installed.
Upgrades are as good as full versions once installed. When installing upgrades, all that matters is that you have a serial number to an earlier qualifying version handy - Adobe has given up tracing this all the way back to your full version which could be up to 20 years ago. Upgrade serial numbers can only be verified by serial numbers up to 3 versions back anyway so Photoshop CS does not qualify for a CS5 upgrade.
There's no need to install older versions on a new computer before installing the CS5 upgrade version. It's actually the full code on the disk regardless of whether you purchased a full version or an upgrade - the serial number tells the installer if you've bought an upgrade or full version license.
When you enter your upgrade serial number for CS5, the installer will ask you to enter an earlier qualifying serial number (full or upgrade does not matter). I've successfully completed this exact scenario myself several times.
The only caveat to the above is that there is a world of difference in licensing terms (and serial numbers) between a suite and a standalone version. If you install a CS5 suite trial then want to keep just the Photoshop component (and enter its serial number), you'll have to uninstall the entire suite first then install the upgrade version of standalone Photoshop CS5. Then enter your CS5 serial number then verify by entering your CS3 serial number.

  • Upgrade to Photoshop CS6 from CS3

Hi, I had bought Photoshop CS3 sevaral years ago and used it for little bit and did not used it since and upgraded my computer, so no longer have the Photoshop on my computer. I lost the serial # during the move to another state.(not the only thing I lost as mover's truck had accident en route) I still have the original disks and jacket.
Can I still get an upgrade to CS6 or I am screwed and have to get full version?

Did you register the software with Adobe?  If so, Adobe Customer Service may be able to help verify you have a license.  You should call them.
People here on this forum, even though a number of the technical folks from Adobe are out and about, may not be able to help you much with licensing issues.

  • Up date to Photoshop CS4 from Elements 6

When I look at my photos in CS4 BRIDGE I see at least one duplicate version for every photo even if I had never edited the photo in elements.
I do not see duplicates in ELEMENTS when they have not been edited, stacked or made into Version Sets.
    How do I correct this?

I'm even copy/pasting from the "System Info" in Elements 6.0.
For starters, you'll be short the last four digits if you are copy/pasting directly from "System Info."
You might look over on the Elements forum for a solution. Having said that, it's usually caused by trying to insert a purchased version serial number into a trial version. In that case, uninstall the trial; install the purchased version; then insert serial.

  • I am trying to upgrade to 10.5 from 10.0 ,i download upgrade ok but when i install i get error  F/  invalid . i have all my media on G/ how do i change where to install to as cannot find it anywhere

Just need a little help to change destination for itunes upgrade, have downloaded 10.5 but when i go to install i get F/ invalid . my F/ drive is my camera memory card drive and all my media is on G/ drive how do i change this as not getting any help from apple other than generic message saying this is not my department and look at links
    Any help would be appreciated

I don't use Windows (Thankfully!) but there should be an option in the installer to change the installation destination and I'm pretty certain the default would be on the drive Windows is installed on.
