Only original photo is uploaded not edited version. what am I doing wrong?

Yes, you need to export or publish the files in order to get the edited versions.
You may want to consider the SmugMug Lightroom plugin. How do I install or update the Lightroom plugin? | SmugMug

  • Automatic upload photostream, editing photos

Do I need to turn off automatic upload to photostream while I import and edit photos in iphoto, then turn it back on to avoid getting unedited versions of these photos in the photostream?

Yes, with automatic upload enabled, the photos will be uploaded to the photo stream as soon as you import them. If you want more control, add them manually to the photo stream.

  • JUST TRIED TO UPLOAD FROM I PHOTO TO TESCO'S WEB SITE AS I HAVE DONE BEFORE, WON'T LET ME, ANY IDEA WHY ??

I  have a macbook pro, in the UK, i have just tried to upload some photos to Tesco web site to get some cushions printed, won't let me, i have been able to do this before today, any ideas why , thanks

Try again and not if you can view the report before it is sent to Apple. That might have some information to help.
Also open the Console app (in Utilities folder) and loog for log entries at the time of problem. Copy any and post here
Additionally, have yo went to Tesco's support site to see if other are having this problem.
It might be due to a problem with Yosemite interacting with the sites.

  • How do I upload an edited photo on my iPhone to photostream?

New photos that I have taken with my iOS 5 devices (iPhone and iPad) upload to Photostream without any issues.  My question is about photos that I've edited in my Camera Roll.  When I edit a photo in Camera Roll, the updated photo is not uploaded to Photostream.
Is there a way to force an updated photo to get uploaded to Photostream?
    Thanks!
    -Phil

You can take a screenshot, new screenshots are added to photostream.

  • I tried to upload a jpeg photo as an attachment to an email and received the message that icloud could not upload it. What can I do to attach a jpeg to an email?

When I try to attach a jpeg to an email, I get a message that icloud will not upload and to compress the image, but when I compress the image and try to attach, I get the same refusal to upload the image. How do I fix this problem?

Are you trying to email from inside iPhoto? If so what version of iPhoto are you using and do you have iPhoto set as the email client in the General preference pane?
If you're runnaing a version of iPhoto that has iPhoto as a email client option and it's set go into the Accounts pane and delete the iCloud account, close iPhoto, reboot, relaunch iPhoto and add it back.
The other option is to set Mail as the email client. This will give you more mailing options than you had  with iPhoto as the client.
If you're using Mail from outside of iPhoto try removing the accout from Mail's Accounts prelference pane and then add it back.

  • What is "error 11" when trying to upload photos to Flickr

I'm trying to upload about 50 photos from photoshop elements 7 to flickr.
I select the pictures, define a set, and say upload.  It indicates that it is preparing the images and then uploads the first one.
Then I get an error message that says:
error 11: File not large enough to contain file fragment
    And the upload process terminates.
This is a new flickr account and my first attempt to upload from PE7 to Flickr so pilot error is likely.  I am a very frequent users of PE7 but new to Flickr.

It is a hard error.  It happens every time I try to do an upload.
    I am loading jpg files.

  • When I import and edit photos on my ipad, the changes are only reflected on that ipad.  If I upload the edited pictures to facebook, my ipad uploads dont reflect the edits?

I've recently started using my ipad to upload and edit photos.  When I import the photos I then crop, enhance, etc and save the edited version.  If I upload the edited photos to facebook, or even download to my home computer, the edits do not appear.  On my ipad, only the edited versions appear, even when looking at the pictures uploaded to facebook, but from any other device (computer, iphone, or another ipad) the pictures are the original unedited versions?  What gives- i'm saving the edits, and deleting any unedited versions?

This is the iPhoto forum. Iphoto does not work on the iPad, only on Mac OS X, so you need to post on the forum for whatever you are using on the iPad.

  • Importing edited photos from iphotos to typepad

    Hi
I'm a complete Mac newbie, currently with growing pains as I move from Linux & Windows to Mac...
Using an ipod to take pics for my web site. Before getting my mac, I used to update them in photoshop, edit them for size & quality, and import the saved edited file from my PC to the typepad-hosted web site.
Now, I plug my ipod into my new mac, import the photos into iphoto and crop, touch-up colors for the photos etc using iphoto. When trying to import the edited photo into typepad, I select my photo from a list of files under Media -> Photos. The thumbnail photo shows up as the edited version - ok, that's what i want. So I import it into typepad, but what gets imported is the original version of the photo, not the edited one that's been cropped, enhanced, renamed etc.
I understand that iphoto is "non-destructive" but how do I get the edited files into my web site. I am looking to create a streamlined process as I'll be doing this a whole lot.
    Thank you for your help.
    GA

My web browser is Chrome version 36.0.1985.125.
From within Typepad, I try to upload a photo into my web page. Insert Images -> Choose file which pops up a dialog that lets me pick files from my computer.
    I've gone two ways here.
    1. When I go to Media -> Photos and select the edited photo I want, the photo shows up as a thumbnail, with the edits I made and the changed name. However, when I then select it and load it into the Typepad post, the original un-edited photo gets imported up with its original name. Not what i want.
    2. When I instead select Favorite -> Documents and select the edited photo which I previously exported out of iPhoto into this Doc folder, the edited photo gets imported with its changed name. So now I have a workaround or maybe it is by design: export the pics if you want them loaded in Typepad.
Now iPhoto has tighter integration with Flickr, so I can simply Share the photo from iPhoto to my Flickr account and the edited version of the file gets uploaded to Flickr. No need to do an export. That's nice, but what I'm looking for is better integration with Typepad/Wordpress.
By the way, the same applies to Google Drive. If I select Upload from within Google Drive and go to Media -> Photos, the edited photo shows up as a tumbnail with the new name I gave it during my edits. When I select it to upload, the original un-edited photo gets uploaded.
Your earlier explanation made me better understand why this is. The iPhoto Previewer tricks us into thinking the edited file is there for us/apps to upload, but it's a virtual update. There's no file behind it to serve up to the app, be-it to Typepad or Google or whatever. iPhoto integrated with Flickr b/c I imagine the demand was there - it's a pain to have to export edits in order to use them. That's why I was asking if a "plug-in" exists that would essentially export the file I selected.  But I can't find them anywhere so I'll have to use a workaround for now.
I'm having another issue with exporting a group of edited pics... not all the changes get exported. But I'll wrestle it on my own for now and post if I get stuck.

  • Edited photos in LR 4 not moving over to CS5

I just upgraded to Lightroom 4 this week and am haing trouble getting CS5 to open the Lightroom-edited photos.  For example, if I adjust the exposure, clarity, etc. in LR 4 and then hit command E to take the file over to Photoshop for further editing, CS5 isn't opening that edited file.  It is opening the original file that was imported into LR 4 but not the edited version.  These are RAW files.
Interestingly, all of the older files that I originally edited in LR 3 (they have now been moved into the LR4 catalog) will still move over from LR4 to CS5 when I hit command E.  Only the files that were imported  from my camera card directly into LR 4 aren't cooperating.
    Any ideas?
    Jason

When you hit Cmd + E - or right-click the photo and select Edit in CS5 you should get a dialog box that gives you two options:
    1) <Open anyway>, and
    2) <Render using Lightroom>.
If you select (1) CS5 will open the original without Lr adjustments,
if you select (2) Lr will send a PSD to CS5 with all your Lr adjustments.
If you don't get this dialog because you have suppressed it, go >Edit >Preferences >General tab, and under the section "prompts" click on <Reset all warning dialogs>.

  • Why doesn't iPhoto '11 upload the correct photo to flickr?

Issue 1: I'm experience a very bizarre behavior in iPhoto '11 where when I try to upload my photos that I have edited using the iPhoto tools (enhancements, levels, effects, etc), it won't upload the edited photo (or the preview version using their terminology) to Flickr.
This is not a universally occuring issue either. For example, if I use the effect 'antique' it will upload the correctly edited 'preview' version of the image. Alternatively, if I upload one with the effect 'boost', it will not upload the correctly edited preview version of the image. Sometimes the opposite will happen as well, its incredibly frustrating.
I'm uploading to Flickr the actual size images.
Issue 2: If I try to upload a single image to Flickr after batch uploading items (as a way to troubleshoot the issue above), it will upload an image that is in the same album, but five photos earlier! What is this? Is there any way to get some clarity on the bugs occuring with iPhoto's uploading procedures? It's quite useless for all their talk about integrated photo sharing options...

In testing this out further, it appears the the primary issue is that the edits (effects, enhancements, etc) are not persisting in this image. For example, in the album view, it looks edited; if I click 'edit', I see the changes that were made to the photo and the edited image. However, if I click 'info', all the changes are undone and it does not look enhanced whatsoever.
Furthermore, if I 'export' the photo it doesn't include the changes that I have made on this photo. In essence, it seems that if I add more than one effect (in this particular case, it has 3 effects on the image), it is unable to process these for exporting/uplading/sharing purposes.
This is primarily something I've found in response to Issue 1 above.
    See the screen shots here:
    In the Album viewer:
    When 'edit' is clicked:
    When 'info' is chosen:

  • What upload speed do I need to upload the XL photo books with over 25 pages?

I have just recently gotten a new Internet provider and the max upload speed I can get is 1mbps but I am only getting .4 mbps at the most.  When trying to upload an XL photo book with over 26 pages it keeps failing to transfer/upload and the error message says to check the internet connection.  I'm wondering what upload speed I need to upload?  I need to cancel this internet provider before my free month runs out if 1mbps is not going to be fast enough.

Well I have my first order coming in tomorrow (according to Fedex) and I have my fingers crossed.
So far I haven't been able to find any local printers that will print and bind the books at a reasonable cost - best I've found so far is $200 (or more) per book.
Hardly cost effective for my relatively meager budget.
I've explored Asuka a littoe more, and their quality does appear to be superior at first glance, but it seems I am not able to take advantage of submitting my aperture-generated book directly. According to their templates I have to put everything together manually in Photohop. Great for end-control, but one thing that made me pursue this was the ability to generate a book inside Aperture using versions direct from collection (any changes I made to an original image were automatically incorporated in my book. Had I done it all manually, teh time/effort I'd be putting into the book with be well over 5x greater!
I've also looked at shutterfly.com so far - and they seem promising, and am wiating for my colleagues order to go through before I get too excited.
Either way, I hope to have my first printing this week - I'll keep ya posted!

  • Uploading edited photos from Lightroom to Picasa

Hi I have recently purchased Lightroom 4. I have edited my photos and saved them as JPEG. I exported them to my computer and wanted to select some for my Picasa web album. I have never resized previously and uploaded full size as I thought they are my back up if I lost everything here. Anyway when I tried to upload to Picasa it said the image was too large. Some were around 3-4MB which i thought was ok?
    Help please!!
    Thanks in advance =)

Actually, I just took a quick look on some Google help pages, and I may have got the size thing slightly wrong - it seems that the 2048 long edge is specifically for Google+, not Picasa:
    "Automatic resizing
All photos uploaded in Google+ will be automatically resized to 2048 pixels (on their longest edge) and won't count towards your free storage quota.
All photos uploaded from the Picasa software or in Picasa Web Albums over the free size limit will count towards your 1 GB of free storage. When you reach your storage limit, any new photos you upload larger than the free size limit will be automatically resized to 2048 pixels (on their longest edge)."
As I tend to use Google+, I just went for the 2048 size as I prefer to do my own re-sizing prior to upload rather than rely on someone else to do it. Therefore, the implication is that you an upload full-size files to Picasa Web, but that there's a finite limit on how many such images you could store on there. Perhaps you're hitting that limit if you already have a lot on there?
In the export dialogue, you'll see a section on image size, and you can choose the "long edge" option and then enter the max size in pixels (make sure you pick pixels, not inches, cm, etc). Sorry I can't be more specific, but I don;t have LR available right now so can't check for the exact terminology used in the interface, but I'm sure you can find it.

  • I made a Photo Book in Lightroom 5.5 converted to jpg and tried to upload to Shutterfly. The only page that I had text added in will not show up in the online Book!!  Thanks For Your Help,  Scott

I Made a Photo Book in Lightroom 5.5 converted to jpg and tried to upload to Shutterfly. The only page that had text added in will not show up in the online Book!!!  Help,  Scott

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.

  • My Lightroom CC always crash when it is trying to upload the preview of big images

My Lightroom CC always crash when it is trying to upload the preview of big images like photo merge images from 3 or 4 RAW images together. Thank You. Marco

When Lightroom first displays the image, it shows the JPG preview which includes your camera custom white balance settings. (This is probably also what you see in Finder)Then a few seconds later it renders the RAW image, with none of the JPG editing and with none of your camera settings applied. That is what you see in Lightroom.
There is no way to turn this off.
You then need to apply your own Lightroom edits to this RAW image to make it look pleasing.
