Trying to use Dropbox with FCP

I have FCP installed both at work and at home. I am trying to use Dropbox to transfer FCP projects between my two computers. When I pull up the clips that I saved to Dropbox at work at home,all the clips say "Media Offline". Any suggestions on how to do this?

What happens when you drag the media from Dropbox back into your FCP Event? Either it will relink or if it doesn't it's because Dropbox is writing new metadata to the clips that causes FCP X to determine it's not a matching clip.
Either way, I'd think that's far too much bandwidth to push across Dropbox. A hard drive would be much simpler- even a USB thumb drive.

Reading some older threads from 2012 and 2011 it appears the problem was present even then. Part of the problem was due to people using multiple or different account id's on the various devices. In my case, I only have one ID and it is the same on all devices yet the iPhone and iPad are still throwing the same error when I try turning on iTunes Match. I'm trying to use LogMiner with Oracle 8.1.6.0.0. When I execute the following code with SQL*Plus, I have an error.
BEGIN
DBMS_LOGMNR.START_LOGMNR

dbms_logmnr.dict_from_online_catalog);
END;
The error displayed by SQL*Plus is:
PLS-00302: 'DICT_FROM_ONLINE_CATALOG' must be declared.
Please, how to solve this problem?

Searching the 9.2 doc set turns up a reference. Looks like you are trying to use an option that isn't available in your version of Oracle.

Success!! There truly is a light at the end of the tunnel. Apple support really did come through and I am successfully back into my account. Ready to purchase more music. I followed the instructions, with patience I thought I lost, submitted my problem, someone emailed me back within two days and all is now perfect. Thanks again Apple.

True that gets the file into Dropbox, and yes you can use the dropbox app and open in app protocol all for free but that does mean you have to open two apps have the iPad do some manipulation with duplicate files copied.
What dropdav does is contain everything within Pages.
Your working in Pages and want to edit a document you know is in your Dropbox you simply tap on the + in the top left of the Pages document screen scroll to copy from Webdav and all your Dropbox files and folders show up right there WITHIN Pages thusly
Any compatilbe file is bold and can be opened DIRECTLY in PAGES edited and returned seemlessly with the copy to Webdav or yes the print to Dropbox (Both work)
The key is Webdav integration within Pages allows for external file transfer.

Storing Video files to be used later with FCP

Hi,
I am new to this so please bear with me.
I am using FCP 10.0.2 I believe and MaxOS LION
Only had the MAcC one week
I take a video, open FCP, then import the video and all works fine. I can also plug the card into a Card Reader and I can import the files.
Now this is the problem I have:
I would like to store the files from the card onto my MAC, the to be used later with FCP. When I have copied all the files / dir structure to the MAC, I then open FCP, go to import files, go the the dir where the files are, but I cant import them. I can see the files, but they are grey'd out.
When I view the files through Finder, they are all their. If I now do an import from the Card reader it seems to work or if i stick the card back into the camera.
I want to build up a library of videos taken in its RAW state and archive it to either on my HD or onto DVD's for later use.
Any suggestions much appreciated

when you did copy the whole file structure, you have to chose 'import from camera/open archive' …
I'm following the same workflow as you do:
• in Finder, without FCPX, on my extHDD I create a folder 'backup Zoo Day May' (or any other descriptive title)
• drag the whole file structure into it from SDcard to folder
• when finally finding the time for editing, in FCPX, import from camera, then open archive, then digging thru my drives to that folder
• FCPX notices this folder as a 'cam' and offers the usual import options, no need for that old (sorry, mish ) trick with dmgs

Already using Dropbox with iPhone, but new to iPhoto. WTD?

I am a long-time iPhone user but until recently have always been on a PC, so I would at first manually move photos from my iPhone to my Dropbox folder, then later started using the "upload to Dropbox" feature to automatically download my photos to my Dropbox folder via Wifi.
However I've just got a Macbook so want to start using iPhoto. Most of my photos are already in Dropbox, and I want to keep using Dropbox as I like having all my photos baked up, and I like that it syncs my photos over WiFi.
So the question is, how do I get my photos from DropBox to best appear in iPhoto, and what import should I use in future? I don't want to duplicate my photos in iPhoto and Dropbox. Most of the advice I can find seems to assume you already use iPhoto. I did an import from my Dropbox folder to iPhoto but do I have to do a completely new Import every time I want to get a few new photos in to iPhoto? I just tried another import and it seemed it was starting from scratch to import them all.

You clearly need to spend some time learning iPhoto - it is not a photo viewer but a SALite database photo manager - it can only work with photos that are imported into it and it is very strongly recommended that you let it copy those photos to the iPhoto library - although it is possible to not copy them there are many reasons not to do that
Take the iPhoto tutorials and read the user tips for iPhoto to understand iPhoto better and learn about how to properly use it and then play with a small library of a few hundred photos before you go whole hog

Same - although you probably will find using PhotoStream a better solution for your iPhone photos - this is similer to what you have been doing and is more automatic
I don't want to duplicate my photos in iPhoto and Dropbox.
That is not possible if you use both - the best answer is to use PhotoStream to move photos form the phone to iPhoto rather than Drop Box - or pick a different photo program and do not use iPhoto

How do I use Dropbox with InDesign?

I want to use InDesign with Dropbox so that multiple people can access the InDesign file and pictures. I already know that it not possible for two people to edit at once so that is not my problem. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on how to structure the shared Dropbox folder so that the links to images are preserved when people open it on different computers. Any other tips concerning Dropbox and InDesign are also welcome!

As you probably know, dropbox is a sync based service. You create a folder inside dropbox area and dropbox will automatically upload it to their cloud. If you change something and save, dropbox syncs your local and remote files immediately. If you shrare that folder with other dropbox users, dropbox will copy that folder to their computers as well. Here comes the dangerous part... Two people can actually work at the same time with same file because they are using local copy of the file, but when they save they work, later save will overwrite the first save when dropbox syncs the files to server. Fortunately there's some version controlling in dropbox's dashboard but it can still cause a big headache...

TO make a long story short, a thunderstorm fried my desktop iMac which was the computer I was sharing my Pages documents with. I don't have an AirPrint compatible printer and I need to be able to print documents that I create in Pages. Since it might be 6 months or more before we can replace the old computer, I would like to use DropBox to share files between my windows computers and the ones at where I volunteer. I was told that Pages for the iPad was compatible so how can I make this work for me?

Trying to use Flexbook with Flash Player 10

I'm trying to use the Flexbook from Ely Greenfield, www.quietlyscheming.com/blog/components/flexbook/, with Flex 3 and Flashplayer 10.
I'm having problems with multiple lines in Flexbook.as but they all have to do with creating a new Vector, like the example below:

If I use the compiler option 'Enable Strict Type Checking' I get the error:

If I don't use the 'Enable Strict Type Checking' option when the application runs I get this error:
Error #1007: Instantiation attempted on a non-constructor.
Can anyone tell me what these errors are trying to tell me?
