Trying to use netui:tree

          Hi,
          I am trying to use netui:tree tag.The help/documentation provided does not specify
          what kind of value should be provided to datasource? Is there a good example where
          I can find how use the tag effectively?
          Thanks,

  • Building netui:tree from XML

              Hi,
              I am trying to build a Tree in Workshop 8.1 using netui:tree tag (for data in
              an XML file).
              The BEA docs say that we have to assign the TreeNode object to the 'tree' attribute
              in the netui:tree tag.
              What is the best way to translate the XML doc into a TreeNode object(s)?
              Thanks,

  • A list of inputs using netui tags

    Hi all,
    we have a family of netui problems which occur quite frequently.
    The main problem is: what to do when we have a list of items (we don't
    now how many), and we want to display them, and get some input from the
    user.
    1. The simplest form, when the user only has to select one, is ok: we
    create a list of netui:anchor -s, with parameters, or we use a
    netui:select (but even in this case we don't know what to do if the name
    and the key of the items are different).
    2. The user should choose more then one item.
    a) We tried to use netui:select multiple=true. It renders fine, but we
    can't get the results properly. If the user selects only one item,
    it's ok, we can get it with a String field in the actionform. But if the
    user selects more items, then we can't catch them.
    We tried with String and List fields, but none of them worked (they
    contained null).
    b)It is more complicated, if we also want to display some attributes of
    the items, like:
    <checkBox> name1 description1 other attribute1
    <checkBox> name2 description2 other attribute1
    <checkBox> name3 description3 other attribute1
    3. The user should enter some text or number for each item
    e.g. (quite similar to 2.b)
    name1 description1 <input type='text'/>
    name2 description2 <input type='text'/>
    name3 description3 <input type='text'/>
    For 2.b) and 3) we have a workaround: we don't use netui:checbox or
    netui:textfield, but manually construct input boxes. The names of the
    boxes are the same that would be created by netui tags (e.g.
    {actionForm.input[1]}), so when the user submits the form the framework
    thinks that they were normal netui stuff and fills the actionForm with
    their data.
    4. The user can create a list on the fly, so he/she can even add more
    elements to the list. We can do it with a submit per new item method,
    but it would be better if could do it on the client side, and the user
    would click on submit only when he finished editing. e.g.:
    we want discounts in a tiered fashion: when the user buys at least 10
    pieces of a product, he gets 10%, more then 100 means 15%, and more then
    1000 means 20%. But it shouldn't be a fixed list, the administrator
    should be able to create as many ranges as he wants. It looks like this:
    Limit Discount
    <input1_L> <input1_D>
    <input2_L> <input2_D>
    <add more button>
    On the client side we can create the input boxes dynamically, with
    proper names, so the system will know which field(s) of the actionform
    we try to set. The problem is that when he submits the form, we get
    IndexOutOfBoundsException, since the field of the actionForm doesn't
    contain enough space for the items. Of course, we can initialize the
    field in the reset() method of the actionform, but at this time we don't
    know how many elements will it store.
    We checked the docs, samples, and the bea newsgroups, but couldn't find
    solutions to these questions (We have seen some similar questions in the
    newsgroups, so it seems other people also have some of these problems).
    I hope I described them clearly and you will be able to find ways to
    solve (at least some of ) them.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Netui:tree and portal problem?

    I may have found a problem regarding using netui:tree & netui:treenode tags in
    a pageflow when that pageflow is placed in a portlet in a portal.
    The problem is that expanding and contracting the nodes does not
    work in this case....(it does work when the pageflow is NOT placed in a portal.)
    I have drilled down on this a bit to see what was happening. Here are my impressions.
    This line of code (taken from the page flow taken from the supplied tree tutorial):
    [nodeExpanded = getRequest().getParameter(TreeNode.EXPAND_NODE);]
    is used to get a refence to the node that was clicked
    The constant
         [TreeNode.EXPAND_NODE]
    equates to the string "netui_treenode".
    In the working case (outside of the portal) this parameter and its value
    are received in the request passed to the page flow. (and can be used to
    change the state of the tree node).
    But when running the tree pageflow in the portal (does not work), this parameter
    does not exist in the request received by the page flow.
    If you examine the html of the tree while running in the portlet and search for
    the
    string "netui_treenode", you will find that the urls for the node expansion contain
    this
    parameter (as they should) ....but for some reason this parameter and its value
    never get
    through the page flow method.
    This is the cause of the problem.
    Any ideas?

    This issue is fixed in 8.1 sp3, or if you need a patch for 8.1 sp2, contact support
    and ask for the patch for CR129990.

  • How do I enable the button to use the tree list in excel? (Enable the list type: Tree enabled in Office 2013 - VSTF 2013)

    Hi, I was looking to see if anyone knows how I can troubleshoot my connection problem with TFS view in excel. I'm trying to  produce a tree view in Office 2013 as described in the following KB -
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd286627.aspx
    I have followed the instructions on the KB all the way up to : 'Add backlog items and tasks and their parent-child links using a tree list' and at this point I can't seem to get it to work as the button is greyed out.
    Note that I have completed steps 1-6 for the previous procedure... all 6 steps work just fine. However on step 2 of the second procedure - the instructions state I should be able to 'Add Tree Level' - However the button is greyed out.
    Anyone know what I need to do to enable the button to use the tree list in excel?
    Frank

    Frank,
    I believe your issue is that you have opened a Flat query and are trying to add tree levels. A flat query is just that and you cannot change the query type from Excel.
    The second process is managing a backlog (which is a tree). TFS web access has a link on the backlog view to create a query. That query will be a "tree of work items" query that returns the items in the backlog including their parent-child relationships.
    This type of query supports the Add Tree Level and Add Child functionality as does a new Input List (not bound to an existing query).

  • Cannot expand tree nodes using t:tree tag

    Hi, I have a question.
    I am a beginner of JSF. I am trying to deploy a very simple tree using <t:tree> in my local tomcat server, similar to the following one:
    http://www.irian.at/myfaces/tree.jsf
    The result is that the tree is properly displayed, but I cannot expand the nodes when I click on the "+" icon of the nodes.
    Can someone help me? Thanks a lot!

  • Displaying Complex Java Objects using netui

    I have a java object with the following structure.

    How and what netui tags can I use to display this kind of structure for obj1?
    I tried repeaters and it is not working for me.
    Also if I have a structure like this
    ArrayList obj4; //contains arrays's of multiple items.
    obj4
    String[] eventTime;
    String[] eventDate;
    How can I display this in a grid fashion using netui? The netui:gid tag only
    wirks with RowSet and I have an ArrayList?
    If I want to use simple jsp and not use netui tags what is the context for accessing
    my form that I have in my page flow from the jsp? e.g. if I have a form in my
    page flow called listForm which has gets and sets for
    String[] eventTime;
    String[] eventDate;
    what is the context I use in my jsp to print values of eventTime and eventDate
    in a grid like fashion without using nteui? I tried 'request' context but it
    does not work. In netui we can use actionForm or pageFlow etc but what about
    simple jsp context?
    Please reply soon. Thanks

    Try the <netui-data:getData> tag in the workshop documentation, It gives an example

  • Bea netui:Tree only half-working?

    I've faught with the netui:tree class for almost a year now. I ended up having to write my own render engine for it because the built-in functionality doesn't work very well. Now that I am re-visiting it and trying to write a very generic utility for it so a tree can easily be made for any part of my app, I want to try and get one specific part working, if only to make my life easier. The styleSelected and styleUnselected attributes DO NOT WORK. Specifically they aren't working in a portal enviro. Does ANYONE have any ideas as to why this is not working? And BEA, how about giving your customers something more than half-assed documentation?

    Hello
              I appreciate if you could kindly go through the following link regarding ususage of NetUI:Tree, where you can find sample

  • Tree tag netui:tree

    Hi.
    I’m trying to modify default sample from Workshop sp2 for netui:tree tag.
    <netui:tree tree="{session.tree}" imageRoot="treeImages" style="tree-control"
    action="treeState">
    I need to change my fonts for tree and change default images to my own plus other
    stuff.
    I cannot find source for style="tree-control”, if it is xml / xslt transformation
    where those files are?
    Thanks

  • Netui:tree jsp example

    All,
    Can anyone supply me with an examplpe of using a netui:tree in a JSP portlet(s)?
    I am going to be selecting info from a database and would like to loop through
    that info to populate the tree. I have had zero success in getting the tree to
    render.
    What I want to have happen is 1. select the data 2. populate the tree 3. user
    selects node in tree and another portlet refreshes with parameters for that node
    (such as address, phone number) 4. User edits info 5. Info is written back to
    the DB 6. tree is updated.
    Is any of that even possible? I can't be the only person to ever try it.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Netui:tree alternatives?

    Does anyone know of an alternative to netui:tree. I'm using it to dynamically show groups/users from a database. The problem is that when it doesn't fit the full height of the browser I have to scroll everytime I expand/collapse a node. I need a tree that has some sort of anchoring mechanism.

  • Use netui tags within javascript function

    Is there anyway to use netui tags within a javascript function? I am trying to create a onChange event handler for a netui:select tag that will call a javascript function which will execute a few netui callMethod tags. The problem is that if the netui tags are embedded within a javascript function they are not translated into javascript. Is there some kind of function that I can wrap the embedded netui tags with so that they will be translated into javascript at runtime? Thanks.

    Hi,
    I am trying to embed JSP code within javascript
    t function, so that it can be called when the user
    leaves the page. No,you can't.
    JSP files are complied on server side while the javascript is the clint side code.
    if you really want to call the functio when the user leaves the page, you can call a function runs on the server side to set the session.
    regards

  • Netui:tree with frames

    I'm using two deferent netui:tree-s on two separated pages. Both pages are divided by frames. Also I use different action for each of netui:tree, and I define them in different controller. One netui:tree is used for public users menu, and other netui:tree is used for admins user menu when he logs in. That's why I need two of them. Some how they interact, so I see on both pages the same tree. But the funny thing is that they point on right pages just I cant get different labels.
              Thank you

    Hi! Alright, I had the same problem and solved with the sample code. Put the code into your PF's begin, to initialize a TreeNode hierarchy, and store it in session.tree:
              HttpSession session = getRequest().getSession();
              TreeNode rootNode = new TreeNode(null,
              "Root", // Label
              null, // Action
              "javascript:alert('Root');",
              null, // Target
              false // Expanded
                   session.setAttribute("tree", rootNode);
              for (int i=0; i < 10; i++)
              TreeNode node = new TreeNode(null,
              "Node #" + i, // Label
              null, // Action
              "javascript:alert('Node #" + i + "');",
              null, // Target
              false // Expanded
              rootNode.addChild(node);
              After that, just refer to the root node as XScript "{session.tree}":
              <netui:tree tree="{session.tree}" action="updateTree"></netui:tree>
              Dont't forget to implement updateTree - just copy and paste it from the tree sample. Good luck!

    Hi,
    I would guess this is  an AIM valid Screen Name such as an Apple issued @mac.com account.
    I would also guess you travel to other countries.
    There have been several posts about @mac.com names and people who travel and use their Screen Name elsewhere having the name Suspended.
    Can you Log in here  https://settings.aim.com/ ?
    Is this where you saw the Suspended message ?
    For AIM issued name the answer is to change your Password as this tends to prove you own the account.
    This does not work for Apple IDs used as  AIM Valid Screen Names as AIM can't tell when the password is changed (They can only see it when you log in)
    AIM's Suspended Account page has an email ([email protected]) on it to contact if your account remains Suspended.
    However you need to be very clear that you have an Apple Issued Name and that you know that resetting the password that works for AIM Names and that you would like them to reset the account.
    More recently this has been a sticking point.  It seems the Contact you get does not always know about the agreement that AIM recognises Apple Issued IDs as Valid Screen Names and that the AIM  servers can only view the passwords at specific times (or at least confirm them) so you changing it will make no difference and that they have to step in manually.
