Trying to work out best calling plan to use re: ch...

hi, i've just upgraded to option 3 which comes with the broadband talk package.
from what i understand with broadband talk i get evening and weekend calls using the hub phone free
i'm also signed up to unlimited weekend calls with my normal landline
i'm trying to work out which phone to use during the day to make/receive calls ie the cheapest
am i correct in saying that the landline phone is 5.9p a min during the day and 1.5p in the evenings with free calls on sat/sun
whereas the bt talk hub phone would be 5.4p a min during the day, free in the evenings and at the weekend
which would mean the broadband talk hub phone would be cheaper to use regularly?
plus - why aren't the calls on the hub phone free to other hub phones users - or are they?
would appreciate some help just clarifying this.
thanks all

Hi Dacosta
The charges for standard BT Line rates are the same on Broadband Talk.
Both services charge 9.9p to connect a call (not included in the package,) and 5.9p per minute in the daytime and 1.5p per minute in the evening (if the evenings are not included.)
Your BT Line - Weekend Plan, free 01/02/03/0845/0870 at weekends only.
Your BT Broadband Talk Line - Evening & Weekend Plan, free 01/02/03/0845/0870 at evenings and weekends only.
Plus, if the hub phone is an 01 or 02 number, then 'technically' it would be free if it's called from your hub phone and in the evening or weekend.

Trying to figure out pricing and plan options to add multiple computers to current subscirption. We currently have a subscription that allows the programs on two computers, but now I need 5 computers to be updated with CC. Have looked in to Small Business teams, but do not understand how many computers that is good for and if there is a professor or previous customer discount. Any help would be great, thanks!

    Hi,
I presume that the new configuration is missing some parts as you seem to have the IP address of the external interface configured staticly on the interface but you have not configured any default route on the firewall? (Original configuration got default route dynamically and added it to the routing table)
You also mentioned that you were able to connect to the Internet which would indicate there was indeed a default route with the new configuration?
I am a bit confused about the host mask on the external interface (/32 - 255.255.255.255) ? Does the ASA really let you configure a host address on the interface? It can't lead anywhere as there is no next hop with a host mask. I think the ASA even blocks using a /31 mask link network which works with Cisco Routers.
I guess I would go through the basic troubleshooting step when the new configuration is in use
Check logs for any blocked connections or error messages
Check the Static PAT (Port Forward) configuration with the "packet-tracer" command
Capture traffic on the ASAs external interface (with the ASA itself) and confirm that you are seeing the TCP SYN of any connection attempts, or perhaps capture ICMP

  • CVP call server logs - Hi All, I am trying to figure out whether caller party(End User) hangup the call first or UCCE Agent

    CVP call server logs
     Hi All,
I am trying to figure out whether caller party(End User) hangup the call first or UCCE Agent.
Attaching CVP call server Logs& UCCE TCD& Route Call Details for your reference.

From the CVP logs, it can be determined which side disconnected the call first. For each call, CVP keeps track each call leg. From Inbound Gateway to CVP is INBOUND leg, rest are OUTBOUND leg. You can then look at which leg the SIP BYE message is received first.
Since you have very basic log enabled, you will not see the exact SIP message. But it can be determined by the outcome of the message. Here is the snippet of the log during the disconnect:
    Line 3766: 3083689: 10.180.245.43: Sep 12 2014 12:21:11.293 -0700: %CVP_8_5_SIP-7-CALL:  {Thrd=DIALOG_CALLBACK.6} CALLGUID = CBCCDD8539E811E4A3E2CCEF48565980 LEGID = CC65CE04-39E811E4-87DFD7D1-64B198F2 - [INBOUND] DURATION (msecs) = 25610 - DIALOG TERMINATED. Reason: Q.850;cause=16
    Line 3768: 3083690: 10.180.245.43: Sep 12 2014 12:21:11.293 -0700: %CVP_8_5_SIP-7-CALL:  {Thrd=DIALOG_CALLBACK.6} Sending BUS MSG:>>HEADERS: (JMSType)=MsgBus:CALL_STATE_EVENT (JMSDestination)=Topic(CVP.SIP.CC.EVENT) (JMSTimestamp)=1410549671293 >>BODY: callguid=CBCCDD8539E811E4A3E2CCEF48565980 RouterCallKey=6472 RouterCallKeySent=true causecode=1 timezone=America/Los_Angeles RouterCallKeySequenceNumber=0 version=CVP_8_5 labeltype=1 RouterCallKeyDay=151099 calldate=Fri Sep 12 12:21:11 PDT 2014 label=190376 localOffset=-420 eventid=6 calllegid=CC65CE04-39E811E4-87DFD7D1-64B198F2  >>STATE: isTabular=false isWriteable=true cursor=-1
The first Termination message came on the INBOUND leg which is the PSTN. That means, PSTN side disconnected the call first.
    Hope this helps.

  • Trying to figure out my game plan, and Cap1, you so silly.

That's good to know that upgrading to a WMC will get rid of the AF for me - so I should definitely combine to the lower APR card in that case.   Watch them decline the upgrade even after the card has an 8k limit.  Pft!

I currently have three cards with Cap1, and I'm trying to break the 5k barrier so I can have access to higher tier cards.  (limits 3k, 3.5k and 4.5k) I'm waiting on an EO decision to see if I can have the 4.5k card bumped by just $500 so I can upgrade it from a Platinum Mastercard to a World (or World Elite) Mastercard.  That was last Thursday though, so I'm thinking they denied it since my account still looks the same.  Boo.   I DO finally have the option of combining accounts, so I'm hoping if I combine my 3.5 and 4.5 into an 8k card that they'll approve the upgrade as a result of that.  I just need to decide which card - one has a $39 fee and a 22% APR, and the other has a $19 fee and a 24% APR.  I never carry a balance so the APRs don't matter as much at the moment - and I know I can get the fees waived...  might be better to keep the lower APR card though, even with the higher fee attached. I'm hoping that the new 8k limit might help me land higher limits on new approvals after this.  I'm regretting applying for the Venture One now since it only gave me a 3k limit...  but I know that will grow with time, especially since I've already pumped $1000 into it within the two weeks I've had it.  : P Citi sent me a Pre-Selected mailer offering a 15.24% APR and had the prescreen/optout information - but I think I've decided not to bother with it.  I know even with the specific APR mentioned it isn't a guarantee - though it's awfully enticing to get in with someone besides Cap1 at possibly a decent APR.  I can't get BoA to budge on my 1.5k limit with them, and I'm not risking another HP to try again.  (I tried back in January-ish) I'm also thinking about applying for an Amazon Prime Store Card - but only because I have a $500+ purchase planned and wouldn't mind the 5% off +$10 giftcard.  I'd be paying the $500 off immediately.  I'm not trying for the Chase version at all since I was denied for it back in January.  (I've gained new cards and history since then, better scores too, but still won't risk it.)  I know they're backed by Synchrony, and I'm getting mailers from Synchrony backed cards lately, so I think they might be open to approving me. I'm also interested in the Discover It for the rotating 5% categories, and of course my own Amex one day.  (I'm an AU on one now.)  I'm thinking I should probably wait six months first for the Discover, and maybe 12 for the Amex?  I have about 4-5 inquiries on each of the bureaus at the moment. It's so hard to be patient and try to make the best decisions!  I'd like to buy a house in about two years after my last baddie falls off, so I know that limits me as far as trying to apply for cards in the future as well.  I'm trying to build up from now until then to get the best mortgage rate I can. I feel like a child that is being so good, and I'm dying for my parents to notice and reward me for it...  hahahaha.

  • Mac newbie trying to figure out best internal HD configuration

    Greetings,
I've been trying to educate myself about internal hard drives by reading some of the posts here and doing a search about RAID but unfortunately I'm still a little confused. I'll try to post my questions about what I'd like to accomplish and if these have been answered before I'll gladly go read a post if someone can direct me to the right place.
First, I have only one internal hard drive on my MacPro and I'm tired of living dangerously! I need to install another hard drive to use as a backup of my work, digital images, music, etc.
    1. Can someone explain (or link me to an explantion) the differences of RAID and which one i would want for the above scenario?
    2. Given my original aim with the backup disc, can someone recommend a make/model that works well as a backup? (for example i read about differences between an SE and an RE drive from one manufacturer, and how one works better in this or that situation, but it all went right over my head)
    3. Is there a software application I should consider that will help me automate my backup process on a daily (nightly) basis? (I'm more than a little forgetful)
Thanks very much for dealing with the newbie on these issues!
    Enjoy the day,
    Pedro
    MacPro 2x2.66 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

I don't use raid myself so I'll leave that explanation to others. I configure my Mac Pro with 4 drives. My main drive is my boot drive and has about 300+ gigs free. I have a backup drive for that which I use SuperDuper for backup, creating a fully bootable backup drive in the event my main drive has a problem. I only back up to that drive when my machine is "good and solid". That allows me to throw on the most recent update without much concern. If there is a problem then I just boot from my backup drive and I'm back up and running just fine. I also use the backup of my main drive for my Final Cut Pro scratch drive. I copy the files for my movies to external drives for archive when needed. For my data drives I use another set of 500 gig drives. One for data (mostly photos) and one to backup using superduper whenever I feel like it. You could automate it all with Retrospect for the data drives if you wanted to. I don't think Retrospect will make a bootable backup of a main drive. I use Western Digital WD5000KS ddrives, 500 megs each. They make another model for those wanting RAID. Set up RAID, by all means, if squeeking every ounce of speed is your goal to be sure. My setup is conservative, redundant and very safe. A simple search here or on google for RAID0 or such will turn up much info on raid configuations.

  • Trying to work out what model my emac is

I recently bought a second hand Emac, which shows the processor as being a 1.0Ghz. However, I noticed that the memory modules are not the 133 standard, but are in point of fact, Pc2700 DDram modules. The serial number indicates that this is a USB2 model, but I'm puzzled as to the fact that the USB 2 models were 1.25 GHZ
Can anyone throw any light on this? I 'm tempted to think that it has been retrofitted with a lower speed processor, but would like some opinions.
    Many thanks

Hey redcity and Welcome to Apple Discussions,
I recently bought a second hand Emac, which shows the processor as being a 1.0Ghz. It says that in System Profile?
However, I noticed that the memory modules are not the 133 standard, but are in point of fact, Pc2700 DDram modules. The serial number indicates that this is a USB2 model, but I'm puzzled as to the fact that the USB 2 models were 1.25 GHZ
Well according to the manual the 2004 eMacs were:
    "What’s New (April 2004)
    eMac (USB 2.0)
Apple announced a revision to the eMac product family. Powered by G4 processors
running at up to 1.25GHz, with a system bus of 167 MHz,..
    • Bluetooth (optional): Fully integrated Bluetooth is available as a build-to-order option
    • 922-6201 Bluetooth board
    • 922-6402 Bluetooth antenna
    • USB 2.0 ports: This computer has three USB 2.0 ports
    • Revised logic boards
    • 661-3279 1 GHz board: EEE code QDJ or QHL.
    • 661-3280 1.25 GHz board: EEE code QDK or QHM
    • Memory, 333 MHz DDR
    • 661-3322, 512 MB
The RAM expansion modules used in the eMac (USB 2.0) computers are 184-pin
SDRAM DIMMs (dual inline memory modules) that are 2.5 V, unbuffered, 8-byte,
non-parity, and PC2700 compliant. The speed of the SDRAM devices must be rated
at 167 MHz (7 ns) or faster. Refer to Kbase article 86718 for more information.
    Important:
The memory expansion cards (DIMMs) must use SDRAM devices as specified above. DIMMs for previous models of eMac or DIMMs that use EDO or
SGRAM devices will not work. If they are installed, the computer will beep, and the
power light will flash several times when you turn on the computer. This indicates that
the computer cannot find any useable RAM."
Can anyone throw any light on this? I 'm tempted to think that it has been retrofitted with a lower speed processor, but would like some opinions.
Apparently your's is a slightly earlier version that was a transitional version.
This is noted in the manual but not here:

If you don't use it anymore on your old computer, deactivate it there before installing on the new one.

  • Help with working out layout

    Hi,
I trying to work out the best way to structure a layout for a
    page that is
centered with a dropshadow on all sides, and for the main
    large image and
text below to be flexible height to allow for different font
    settings etc.
The way I initially layed it out, I did a plain white
    background image for
each div, with the drop shadow on each side, but that makes
    the heights
    rigid.
This is a pic of what it should look like -

  • Need help working out a percentage

    Hi guys,
I'm new to numbers and this is my first post on apple forums too. My question is this, as a total newbie with numbers & excel, I am trying to work out my friends attendance to a meeting I hold. The data looks like this:
    2 Feb 2011 1
    6 Feb 2011 0
    8 Feb 2011 1
    9 Feb 2011 1
    13 Feb 2011 0
    16 Feb 2011
    20 Feb 2011
    22 Feb 2011
    23 Feb 2011
    27 Feb 2011
Where one signifies attendance and zero shows they did not attend.
I want to use a cell below this to show their total attendance for the month in total. I am aware the month hasn't finished so showing their attendance for the month as it is so far is fine.
I know its probably very easy but I can't work out how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    hardtofin

    Hi hardtofin,
Welcome to Apple Discussions and the Numbers '09 forum.
As a spreadsheet newbie, your absolutely best first step is to download and read at least the preface and first chapter of the Numbers '09 User Guide, then read the other chapters as you start to work with various aspects of Numbers.
Apple also provides a second excellent reference, the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide. Use this one as a source for the functions available in Numbers, including a description and at least one example for each function.
Both may be downloaded through the Help menu in Numbers. Both are very useful to have handy.
    To your question:
Start by adding two Footer rows to your table, one to hold the current total attendance, the other to hold the attendance expressed as a percentage of the meetings that have been held to date.
I'm assuming the dates are in column A and the attendance in column B.
In B11, the total attendance is a simple SUM:
    =SUM(B)
In B12, we want to divide the same SUM by the number of meetings it has been possible to attend. That number can be obtained using COUNTIF:
    =SUM(B)/COUNTIF($A,"<"&TODAY())
Use the (Cell Format) Inspector to format the cell as Percentage and adjust the number of decimal places shown.
The three functions used are all discussed in the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Working out which controller a disk is on

I'm trying to work out (hopefully using system calls) which controller each disk is on.
I can to it backwards by calling ioctl(fd,DKIOCINFO,...) on a file in /dev/rdsk, to get sdXXX in dki.dname.
But this only works on disks that aren't mirrored or under a volume manager of some kind.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

under a volume manager of some kind.
Any ideas? This is non-trivial for many cases. The trivial case is where
you know the /dev/rdsk/c#... where the c# is obviously the
controller. However, as you point out, this doesn't work so
well for disks which are under logical volume manager control.
It gets even worse when you use multiple controllers connected
to the disk such as with StorEdge Traffic Manager software.
It is a little difficult to go into further detail without knowing
what level you are programming at. It appears that you are
at the kernel level which, oddly enough, may be too low.
Obviously there are kstats and the device tree can be tracked.
Some user-level tools such as prtpicl (and picld) can help too.
But it is clear that the movement is towards WBEM/CIM for such
information. http://www.sun.com/solaris/wbem is a good start.
This is very much in development, so there are still things missing,
such as a meaningful CIM object for a controller. However, at
least in the case of Solaris Volume Manager (formerly know as
Solstice DiskSuite) there is a WBEM/CIM interface. Ultimately you
will be able to write code to plod through CIM objects to get the
    information you seek.
If you are stuck supporting older versions of Solaris which may
not have the WBEM/CIM services (or they are downrevved) then
you may have to resort to a shell script which will plod through the
various device information trees and databases (/etc/path_to_inst,
prtpicl, prtconf, metastat, vxprint, luxadm, etc.)

I am trying to work out a percentage of a number. Say for eg cell A1 is 5% and cell A2 is 383,04. The cell gives me an error - a red triangle saying "the operator * expects a number, but cell A2 contains a string. I changed the comma for a fullstop on 383.04 and it gave me the correct answer. Lavina,
The decimal separator depends on your system language choice, or your application language choice if you are using Language Switcher. It's not something that is optional within the normal programming parameters. If this issue is critical to your document, it could be accomodated with an expression in the result cell.
How big a deal is this for you?
Here's an example on a system expecting a period for a decimal separator.
To go the other way, you would exchange the comma and the period in the illustrated formula. As written, the result will calculate with either decimal seaprator.
