Trying to Work with iCal calendars in Outlook--Help!

I use MS Outlook 2003 at work, but a Mac and iPhone for everything else. I would like to be able to continue to use iCal's and the iPhone's multiple calendars (which I use to separate work events, personal events, etc) and have them merge into one single calendar in Outlook, since otherwise I often miss events since Outlook treats them all as separate calendars that cannot be shown altogether. Is there a way to consolidate or merge all those calendars when I access them on Outlook (FYI, I use Plaxo to synchronize my calendars across platforms). Thanks!

  • TS3988 icloud only works with one version of outlook

I uninstalled 2013 outlook and re-installed 2010 but I still get an error message when trying to launch icloud. The error says icloud cannot work with two versions of outlook (which i don't have now) any thoughts?

You need to remove all traces of both versions of Outlook, then install 2010 again.

  • When trying to work with Agilent 34401A multimeter (serial RS-232 connection), HP34401A Getting Started.vi gives always the message: "Error 1073807369 occurred at Old VISA Open ".

Baud rate and parity are set correctly, RS-232 cable is also connected correctly. My QuickBasic program has no problems to read and write to the Multimeter. It is obviously a software problem: the same error is persistent if I disconnect RS-232 cable.
I downloaded NI-VISA 2.6 for Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP frorm digital.ni.com and installed it. But it did not help.
    Thank you in advance

Now trying to work with my Mac. I have a USB cable, both ends fit, but iMovie '11 does not recognize it. Is there a driver fix for this?

What kind of Mac to you have?  This camera is a tape based DV one that connects best with firewire and I cannot tell if your Mac has firewire.  If your mac *does* have firewire, get a camcorder firewire cable and try again.
ETA:  Oops, I am pretty sure that all the "desktop iMacs" have firewire, so you should be good to go.  You will probably need a cord that goes from FW800 to your camcorder.

As a first step, you may want to try deleting iMovie preferences.

  • My Imac late 2012 running Yosemite does not recognise my Huawei 3g usb modem. itried to install Java bt still it does not although the same modem works with my MacBook pro . any help please

My Imac late 2012 running Yosemite does not recognise my Huawei 3g usb modem. itried to install Java bt still it does not although the same modem works with my MacBook pro . any help please

    Hey there mbarikiwa,
If your iMac still has not recognized the usb modem, I would use the troubleshooting for Yosemite USB issues in the following article:
OS X Yosemite: If a USB device isn’t working
If the device is connected to a USB hub:
Make sure the device and the hub are the same speed. Connect USB 3.0 SuperSpeed devices to a USB 3.0 SuperSpeed HUB, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed devices to a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed hub, and so on.
If the device doesn’t have a power cord and is plugged into another USB device that doesn’t have a power cord:
Try plugging the device directly into your computer’s USB port  or into a USB device that does have a power cord. You might need to disconnect and reconnect the other device as well, if it has stopped responding.
If you have many devices connected to your Mac:
Disconnect all USB devices except the device you’re testing, an Apple keyboard, and an Apple mouse. Make sure that the device is connected directly to the computer, and that any hubs or extension cables are disconnected. If you can use the device now, the problem may be with one of the other USB devices or hubs you had connected to your computer. Try reconnecting them, one by one, to your computer. When you find the device causing the problem, review its documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
Verify that the device appears in System Information:
Choose Apple menu > About This Mac. In the window that appears, click Overview, then click the System Report button to open System Information.
In the window that appears, see if the USB device is listed below Hardware in the Contents list. If the device appears but does not work, review the device’s documentation for further troubleshooting steps.
    Restart apps:
Quit and restart any apps that use the device.
    Restart your Mac:
    Choose Apple menu > Restart.
    Check your device’s USB connection
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • Group calendars on 10.6.4 client machines no longer work with iCal Server

After updating 2 client machines to 10.6.4 I realized my group calendars no longer work in iCal.
I get "Server Responded With an Error" on all my group calendars, on both machines.
Preferences>Accounts>Server Path reveles the server path has reverted back to a GUID "/principals/_uids_/GUID string/" .
I change it back to "/principals/_uids_/wiki-GroupName/" and get it working again, but if I quit iCal and restart it again reverts back to the GUID.
I've trashed all calendars in ~/Library/Calendars, and the Prefs. I also tried "/principals/wikis/GroupName/", but again it reverts.
I booted to my 10.6.3 clone and have no problems with the group calendars there.
    (I'm running 10.6.4 Server)
Is anyone else having this issue?
    Any ideas?

Are you asking for an example of how to use calendarservermanageprincipals? While the tool is designed to help you configure privileges on resources and locations, it works fine for users. So I created a new user in Workgroup Manager to represent my Marketing department's calendars. I named this user "sharedmarketing".
Then, I wanted to give staff read-only access to the calendar and give Marketing write access, so I executed these two commands:
    sudo calendarservermanageprincipals --add-write-proxy groups:marketing users:sharedmarketing
    sudo calendarservermanageprincipals --add-read-proxy groups:staff users:sharedmarketing
I then imported the content from the Marketing Wiki calendar into this calendar and that was it!
If I logged in directly to the sharedmarketing account (not necessary), and looked how the account was set to be delegated, it properly showed group names:
There is no way to configure it like this using the iCal GUI, and this was I always felt that the management of privileges was the biggest obstacle in setting up iCal Server in this proper, supported fashion.
Then, from the client, I can naturally access those group calendars:
This is SO much easier to setup and maintain as each user only needs to have their ONE iCal account configured and they can just add the necessary groups, which is WAY easier than supplying users with crazy wiki-calendar URLs.

  • Serious Duplicates Issue with iCal calendars

I purchased a new mini this week to replaced a failed system  After setting up a new account I tried merging the data I had on the system (which was migrated off a back up system I had available),  The sync  spawned about 15 copies of a half dozen calendars plus that I maintain.  Mobileme still looked perfect, but my desktop system iCal client was a mess.
I spent an hour and a half in chat with the mobile me support people and they declared I did not have a synce issue, it was an app issue.  They suggested I delete iCal.  We got half way there when they threw in the towl and sent me to the intergrated apps folks.
The first iApp tech told me we needed to renstall iCal from the original disk.  In the middle of looking for the disks we gotcut off.  The next tech explained that I could not just replace iCal, I had to do an operating system reinstall, so I did.
After deleting files from the HC and user libraries for iCal, I found it still did not wor and reinstalling the o/s, it still had over a humndred calendar instances show up.  So, I tried to go back to hand removing each calendar one at a time.  I did this for about a dozen.  Then they inexplicably showed back up.  I can't delete them they keep showing up (but not on Mobileme).  THey reappear as if by majic; I have sync set to manual so I don't even understand what process is going out and retrieving the duplicates again.
I invested about 5 hours with apple today, with no resolution.  Deleted accts, pref files, app, reinstalled o/s.  They've closed my ticket without confirming my issue was resolved and are now closed for the day.  Very frustrating, I've had sync issues of the years from time to time, but this is baffling.
Any suggestions?  Deeply appreciate any help, I'm make a living as consultant and this is eating my lunch.
    Thanks!

Have had this problem recently. Even after Upgrade to Snow Leopard; also installed Office 2008 with Entourage. The duplication continues and deleting iCal calendars and then repopulating does not keep the entries from multiplying. I have cleaned the calendar and backed it up in Entourage, but syncing really is not working properly. This is a real pain since you can't sync the iPod or iphone through iCal to Entourage.

  • In working with my calendar, i don't know what i might have done, but all entries on Fridays, starting from Friday, March 14, simply disappeared. my time machine was not functioning and am wondering if this info is hiding somewhere in the cloud?

In working with icalendar, i inadvertantly lost all Friday entries after March 14th.  My time machine was not hooked up.  Hoped that the cloud might have this information.

You can check to see if they are still in iCloud by looking at your calendar on icloud.com.  If they are, go to System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, uncheck Calendars, choose Delete from Mac (they will still be in iCloud), restart your Mac, then go back and sign back in.  If they aren't on icloud.com you might just give it some time to see if they reappear due to a server glitch.

  • Isync stopped working with ical

My palm events were syncing on the mac with ical and isync and they stopped.
I get an error at each sync saying there was an inconsistency found and that it will be repaired next sync. Then another message says the sync was cancelled.
    The log says
iSync Conduit starting 9/14/06 12:51:15 AM
iSync Conduit: received NULL message, disconnecting... 9/14/06 12:54:51 AM
    OK iSync Conduit
    imac Mac OS X (10.4.7)
    imac   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
If the 'inconsistency' is with the state of your synchronization data, then you may be able to correct it by launching iSync, opening the Preferences… dialog and pressing the Reset Sync History button. This will leave you sync clients registered by remove any history of synchronization, creating a condition in which iSync believes that no synchronization has ever taken place. You next event will appear to be a first-time synchronization, in which you will be asked if you want to merge or replace records. You should initially attempt to merge, rather than replace them.
If this does not correct the issue, you will have to disable your calendars then re-enable them one at a time in iSync and synchronize again until you have identified the calendar which contains the 'inconsistent' data. Exporting, deleting and then importing the troublesome calendar may correct the problem.
