My iphone 4s has no sound. Music doesn't play and phone doesn't ring. The speaker phone doesn't work either. It only vibrates. Can anyone help? I have tried all possible ways of trying to fix this issue. Someone mentioned that the speaker is bad.

There are two places where vibrations can be set.
One is the Settings > Sounds
The other area is Settings > Notifications
If you have an app set to Alert, it may have a vibration set for it.

And no, if your phone is vibrating when you get texts/calls then you're not in Do Not Disturb. You would see a Crescent Moon symbol to the left of Battery % if it was on. -

Not sure if this will work, but you could try the app My Contacts Backup. This will back up your contacts as an email attachement. Send the email to yourself. Then turn off contacts syncing (to erase the contacts from your phone), open the email and tap the attachment to re-import the contacts to your phone. You will still have to go through them and remove the duplicates but at least they should not be duplicated again. (There is an app called
Remove Duplicate Contacts and Events that claims to be able to find and remove duplicates but you'll have to read the reviews in the app store to decide if you want to try it.) -

I'm having the same problem as well. I use keychain access often to remind me of my passwords and was happy (initially) to see one for "iphone backup". When I entered it I got the same error message:
"The password you entered to unlock your iPhone backup file was incorrect. Please try again."
Really frustrating.

My IPhone 3GS will not now join wifi, this is a very recent problem. It finds my network but does not download the IP Address hence when I load password Join remains grey. Hi Chris thanks for the reply , my iMessage was working until I listened to voda domes instructions to do a network reset now it's says waiting for activation , I have reset the phone I have a SIM card change as Vodafone thought my SIM card was faulty and took the phone back to the shop and changed it for a new one , I've been on many forum sites and a lot of people are having the same problem as I can send a txt message bit can't receive them Andy account is set up correctly on vodafones side ... I am we'll and truly lost for ideas on what to do .

Home sharing is on...on both my computer and iphone but my phone wont show up on itunes unless I plug it in....I am trying to move a playlist from my itouch to my iphone and it would not let me so I thought I could just enable home sharing and drag it to my iphone that way but now my iphone wont even show up in home sharing. The little house icon wont even show up. I have tried restarting and am very frustrated, help!
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

You can try erasing all content and settings and set up as new or restore and setup as new, but I have the same problem and nothing I did helps. Usually restarting my iPhone helps, sometimes it doesn't. Most times texting a few people at once will help to. But other than that, it just comes and goes on its own

The music files, were they bought from your iTunes account or did someone gift them to you after buying from the iTunes account? If they are yours you can download them again if you clear or de-authorise the ipod, it has to be done by whoever gave you the ipod to do this (the registered owner). If they were bought for you on another itunes account I don't think Apple let you use them as they are copyrighted and they don't belong to you, they belong to the person who bought them. If the music files where ripped from music cd's then click and drag them to a new folder on your desktop and have the person who gave you the ipod to de-authorise and unregister it. Then you re register it and put your files back from your desktop folder in your iTunes folder and synch. Hopefully that would work. Any files which you did not buy, I would not know how get around this, best bet is to take it to you nearest Apple Store and explain that they were gifted to you and ask how you can use them. The best way to gift music files is to buy the gift tokens and give these. Hope above helps. -

Manually syncing does not fix your problem and is not that comfortable. If it still does not work, I would suggest to check your iCloud settings on your Mac as well, because there is no reason that it does not work if you set up your account on all your devices.

It looks like a a defective GPU or Logicboard. This is definitely hardware related. The solution would be to take it to Apple for a definitive diagnosis and take it from there.
