    If the card has already been redeemed, you cannot give it to someone else. The card, once redeemed, becomes a balance in the iTunes Store account through which the card was redeemed, There's no "balance" left on the card itself.
    Sorry, but if you want to give someone an iTunes Store card as a gift, you'll need to buy them a new card and give it to them unredeemed.

    Unless it's written on the card then you can't, you will only be able to see its value by redeeming it.

    It shouldn't expire - none of my cards have ever had an expiry date on them.
    If the card doesn't have its value written on it then the only way to see its value is to redeem it onto an account.

    If the value of the card isn't printed on it and you don't have the purchase receipt, the only way to determine the value of the card is by redeeming it. If you have already redeemed it, then the card is now valueless. The credit balance is carried in your iTunes Store account and will be displayed in iTunes next to your Apple ID when you're signed into the iTunes Store, or on an iOS device at the bottom of the screen in the App Store or iTunes Store apps.

    Once an iTunes Gift card is redeemed the balance is transferred to your iTunes and Mac Store associated accounts, so once redeemed the card has no value. There is a number of ways to check your balance. On the iPad open the iTunes or App Store app and from one of the stores main pages scroll to the bottom to see your credits. You can also see this balance by logging into the iTunes Store in iTunes on a computer as well.
