TS1292 i did redeem the itune gift card the way i usually do and the balance comes up immediately. This time the balance is not showing and when I go back into try it again I am notified the number is redeemed. How do I get the credit on my account?
i tried to redeem a gift card and have done many time previously. This time the redeemed balance is not showing in my account.
What can I do to obtain the credit?
Try signing out then back in to refresh your account info. If the store credits will still not update, best to contact support and have your account checked

Every time I try to purchase a song, "session has timed out" shows up after I click "agree" to the terms!? I seem to be in the exact same scenario as 'SportsBarn' above: Itunes support have replied repeatedly with the same "solutions" but nothing has helped or even been applicable. I have an older laptop, 2005 Powerbook running OS X 10.4 Tiger so it's not compatible with the latest iTunes 10.5.2 which requires minimum OS X 10.5. I've been using the balance already in my iTunes account (from redeemed giftcards over the past few years) with no problem, until recently (my last successful purchase was October 2011). I wonder if it's the older OS or just a redemption glitch even with newer computers? -

I download a app from appstore in Hong Kong and it did not allow me to buy the in app staff because my payment information is from US and i did not have the credit card from Hong Kong. In case like that everytime I have been reject by the appstore to pay for the in app staff. I want to know if I can buy one of the itune gift card and redeem that in appstore and then pay for the in app staff I want to buy?
Why can't I use an iTunes gift card in Canada to purchase apps for my iTouch?
Inquiries to the iTunes Store have yielded only the following explanation:
"Due to tax laws and commerce restrictions for software in Canada, customers residing in Canada may only purchase games and applications using a credit card."
What these "laws/restrictions" might be have never been identified.
Can I somehow exchange the giftcards that I have for App gift cards?
There are no "app gift cards". Again, you can only use a credit card to purchase software in the Canadian iTunes Store.
Problem is I don't have a credit card to purchase the apps.
Perhaps you could obtain one of the "prepaid" credit cards some banks offer. If not, then the only way you'll be able to buy apps is to get someone to allow you to use their credit card. -

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money.. -
Okay... I redeemed my itunes gift card, under my old ID. I had since updated my new email address, but didnt realize i redeemed it under the old ID. I tried to redeem it under my new ID, but i couldnt. Is there a way to switch my gift card amount to my current ID??
No, it's not currently possible to transfer a redeemed card to a different account, and you also won't be able to use it to gift content to the newer account (you can only gift via a credit card) - so the amount will remain linked to that old account

Redeemed the iTunes gift card it gave an error: The gift certificate or prepaid card code you entered has not been properly activated.
do you have the receipt from where you bought it? If so take it back and see what they will do for you.

If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions
If you have a credit card on your account then its details have to complete - and asking for their details is also a way of checking that you have a valid billing address in that country. As long as you are buying content for yourself and not trying to gift content (you can't use your balance for gifting) then the purchase price (plus any applicable taxes) should be deducted from your balance. Do you have to redeem your iTunes gift card every time you buy something? Or does it take money off the card automatically?
As far as I know redeeming a card simply adds the value to your account.
When I credit a gift card I get a credit appearing in my iTunes account.
Every time I buy something the cost is deducted from my 'iTunes credit', the card is no lobger needed or usable after redemption.

It'll take money from the gift card; iTunes Store credit is used up first if allowed for a given purchase.

I rubbed the iTunes gift card back off, I was unable to read the serial number as part of it came off, can any one help.
