hi i got a 50 dollar itunes card for a gift and i cant reedeem the code and activate it

Normally you would go back to the store from which the card was purchased and get them to handle the problem, but since this was a gift, that's probably not possible. Go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. You'll want to include the serial number of the card; see:

Make sure you're using the correct code. For most iTunes cards, the code is under the scratchoff area on the back of the card. For more information, see this support article:

Because the SIM is not authorized for an iPhone? Because the SIM is for a different carrier than the phone is locked to? Because the SIM is defective? Because there is no balance on the SIM? Because the carrier has no coverage where you are located?
There are probably a few other possible reasons, but these should be a start.
