Why won't Apple accept debit cards? I ordered 2 new iPhones at ATT on Monday using my debit card. I was just notified by ATT that Apple wont accept debit cards so my order cannot go through. I don't use credit cards so I don't carry debt!

They (ATT) re-emphasized this is not their policy, but Apple's and that I would have the same problem if I went to Verizon. Is this really the policy and if so why? Apple has no problems accepting debit cards for my iTunes account?!

I think this is an AT&T thing not an Apple policy, I had this battle with them before when the 4s came out.So this time I went directly to the Apple stor, I had no problem pre-ordering my Iphone5 on the 14th with my debit card, already shipped will be here the 21st. Have you redeemed your iTunes card to an account associated with an Apple ID?
Once you have your iPad associated with an Apple ID AND you have an account with a credit card associated with the same Apple ID AND you have some 'store credit' (from redeeming your iTunes card) then purchases use the store credit before they charge the credit card, so you should be ok!
Personally, I use 'store credit' as a way to monitor whether or not there have been any 'unauthorised' purchases because as soon as the store credit is zero, the security code from the credit card is needed for further purchases! It does mean that I have sometimes to top up store credit before making a purchase, but 'better safe than sorry'!

Does the iPad connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

i have the original ipad ... i have recently moved ... ive just tried downloading some FREE items to my ipad ... it asked me to verify my card details ... i changed them accordingly and it wont accept them ... i dont know what else to do try ... as im on the original ipad im only on ios5 thanks in advance

What happens when you try to enter the card's details e.g. if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
The card is registered to your new address ?
If you only want to download free items then if you log into your account do you get the 'none' option on the payment details screen so that you can remove the card ?

I changed my gmail pw on my laptop. A few hours later I went to use my ipad. I log in with my 4 diget pw..it goes straight to my email and wont accept my pw. I can not get to any other app or page on the ipad. What do I do?

There are a lot of passwords floating around here. Keep them straight.
You changed the pw on your google e mail account. On the pad, delete the e mail account, then reinstall it with the new password.
Changing the google pw will not, and should not, change your apple id, that is the same Asia has always been. That will also not change whatever pin code you might have set for your pad, that should be the same as it always was.
Or am I missing the point?

Are you able to take the card back to the store that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ?
