The title pretty much says it all, but I'll say it again: how do I know, before I purchase a song, whether I'm getting the free-and-clear Plus version or just the basic DRM-protected version?
If that's true (and I'm not saying it's not), then why do they still refer to "DRM-protected music" in their online help (at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1727) after 4 years of not selling any DRM-protected music? Was it just an oversight on their part, to not update the support page or at least to put an explanation on that page similar to what you provided?

I had this exact same problem with the new iPhone I bought on 1/4/13. The walk through they provide on how to do this is useless because it fails to explain that if you are already having the problem of not getting the "None" payment option with an Apple ID then you will need to create a completely new Apple ID.
I had to do this 7 times since I bought my iPhone on Friday until this morning to figure out how to finally be able to use the Home Sharing option in iTunes to put my music collection on my brand new $500.00 iPhone. Pretty pathetic if you ask me but since it made me so angry I want to make sure other know how to do this so you don't get as upset as I did.
#1 If your current or soon to be "old" Apple ID is not providing the option for "None" as a payment option then you need to make a brand new one. But you have to make it specifically how I tell you.
#2 You will need to use an email address that has not already been used for anything related to a previous Apple ID. You might need to make a brand new email address.
#3 Open iTunes, then open iTunes Store (upper right corner of iTunes).
#4 Click on App Store (upper center of screen).
#5 Scroll down the screen page until you see Top Free Apps on the right side.
#6 Choose any one of the FREE apps.
#7 You should either get the option to create a new Apple ID box, either that, or it will pop up with some kind of disclaimer and then it does the create new Apple ID.
Either way just create a new Apple ID when it gives you the option to and then when you get to the page that looks like the payment page the "None" payment option will finally be available.
Note: You will still have to fill out the information on the payment page. As long as you choose the "None" option it will not request any credit card information.
#8 You will be sent a confirmation email to the new email account. Just follow through with what ever it tells you and viola now you can use your Apple Device.

Hello, I just bought a 2013 Mac mini and I cannot get the sound to output to my Dell U2713HM monitor. I went to sound output but even though my Dell shows up there when I select it there is no sound output to it. I am using a mini DP to DP cable...Any ideas? Thanks
Hi Alxx911, and John Hammer1. After reading John's reply - " You can plug something into it's headphone jack. though" . I thought i'd try out of curiosity. I plugged in some headphones. I didn't expect anything to happen and nothing happened. The audio jack is for the Dell soundbar which is optional.
Here's a direct copy and paste from the users manual: Section About Your Monitor.
Attaching the Soundbar AX510 / AX510PA (Optional) CAUTION: Do not use with any device other than the Dell Soundbar. NOTE: The Soundbar power connector (+12 V DC output) is for the optional Dell Soundbar AX510/AX510PAonly. To attach the Soundbar: 1. Working from the back of the monitor, attach the Soundbar by aligning the two slots with the two tabs along the bottom of the monitor. 2. Slide the Soundbar to the left until it snaps into place. 3. Connectthe Soundbar with the DC power connector. 4. Insert the mini stereo plug from the back of the Soundbar into the computerís audio output jack. For HDMI/DP, you can insert the mini stereo plug into the monitorís audio output port. If there is no sound, check your PC if the Audio output is configured to HDMI/DP output.
This monitor has no speakers. (Like John Hammer1 mentioned). The no speakers feature was one of the reasons I chose this monitor.

2. Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you're using on your iPhone.

- Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
- Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
4. Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage.

It is not being deducted from your credit? Are you sure?
Just because it is asking for your cc info, does not mean that it will be charged.
This is how itunes verifies your account and that you are a resident of the country of the itunes store that you are trying to use. -
I always use firefox to browse the internet. When I attempt to save a picture from ebay I have always enlarged the picture, right click, the clicked "save picture as". Now when I right click I don't get that option. All it will let me do is save the entire ebay item file. When I right click on the enlarged picture, the small picture, or the white near the enlarged photo my icon choices are: 1.Copy 2. Select All 3.Yahoo 4. Search Yahoo for "Please wait imag" 5. I click on Fill & Sign Tools, then I click Place Signature. The instructions show a dialog box with four options however that does not happen. I am only presented with the option of importing a digital signature. How do I get to the option of importing an image (jpg) signature?
RobertI assume you have a digital ID set up already. When you sign then you need to select how the signature is to appear and you can then select create new appearance. Not sure if this is what you are dealing withage.

When I try to play certain songs in iCloud I get the error "Cannot Play"

Apple removed my previous post because I referenced jailbreaking which is a violation of the TOS. Sorry about that!
That said, I can't think of any way to get around the file size limitation. I suppose itunes match isn't really meant to give you access to play all your songs anywhere. It instead gives you the opportunity to download your songs via wifi when you aren't at home. I can't see that it makes any difference one way or the other to Apple but it obvioiusly would make a difference to the wireless provider.
So now, my question is whether this happens on with all carriers. I have experienced this on AT&T. Does anyone here have Verizon or Sprint? -
I reinstalled itunes 10.5.3 64 bit version on my Windows 7. When I connect my iPhone it gives me a error message of incorrect version and to uninstall and reinstall with 64 bit version. I have tried this over and over again but this message is not going.

That usually indicates that your Apple Mobile Device Support has not installed. That's also what is being shown by the diagnostics (the driver is there but the application isn't).
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
