sorry, At this point there is not way to switch or merge the accounts.
Until apple gives us that option there is nothing you can do other than update both accounts.
I know, it's stupid, but until apple gets that option all of us with more than one account are stuck.

I no longer have access to my current email. How do I switch to another email account?

As of last a few days ago, AOL has officially banned my account for a ludicrous reason; they said I was in breach of some sort of age restriction. It's stupid, I know. Anyway, now I use g-mail, and everything's been great, besides the fact that my old AOL account was what I used to set up every online account I've ever made, including my Apple Account. How would I switch my account email address without any current access to my old one?

How old are you? there is an age limit (13) for iCloud as well.

Purchased songs with old AOL account, itunes won't play them, nor copy them

Years ago, I used my old AOL account name as my Apple/itunes login, and purchased several songs. Since then, I've changed my Apple ID, and songs I've purchased using that login play fine on my Mac, and transfer to my ipod/iphone. However, songs I purchased with the old AOL login will not sync to ipod/iphone, and when I try to play them in itunes, it comes up with "Computer is not authorized to play. Would you like to authorize", and it has my AOL name, and it asked me to enter the password (which I remember), so I enter it, but after i enter it, it says "You need to change your account to use an Apple ID." But I already have an Apple ID. Long question short: How do I make it so my old AOL purchased songs will play on my iTunes and ipod?

You should also be able to log into your account on find some means of contact or a Report a Problem link from the account or an e-mail receipt (if you still have one).

Welcome to the Apple community.
I assume you do mean a different account and not simply a different iTunes library. Unfortunately, in order to switch accounts, you would need to log out and log in to the second account.

Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.

What do you mean by removing the account?
An account is just a user neame and password with which you purchase content.
You can go to settings and sign out of the account nd inot another. This is covered in the manual.

If your device is signed into an old ID of yours that is an earlier version of the ID you want to sign in with, do the following:
If you are using iMessage and FaceTime, make sure you are signed into these services with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless you are using iCloud Photo Library). When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). OK that's what Ithought you were talking about.
You can't actually delete an old Apple ID. You just sign into the new ID to use that one. Your old ID must be popping up because you used it in the past to purchase content with it. You cannot transfer purchases from one Apple ID to another Apple ID. You have to continue to use the old ID if you want to update content that was used to purchase with that ID.
Did you sign into your new account in the settings and you can't stay signed in?
