Just got new iPad mini and I can only get 140 pictutes in My Photo Stream while in my other devices I have 1000 photos in My Photo Stream. How do I sync to have all photos in My Photo Stream on this new iPad mini?
Hi Jose Sam,
It sounds like some of your photos are over 30 days old.
iCloud: My Photo Stream troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3989
I see different photos in My Photo Stream on each of my devices.
Your device will keep up to 1000 photos, even if they are older than 30 days. Photos older than 30 days are removed from the iCloud server, so all devices may not have the same photos, depending on when you enabled My Photo Stream.
You may want to sync the older photos through iTunes to get them on your new iPad mini.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.

I purchased an iPad mini on October 10th. I want to return it and get the new ipad mini retina when it comes out. I am currently still within the 14 day return/exchange window but how can I exchange it if the new ipad mini release date isn't until "later in November", which would be beyond the 14 days from my purchase date? If apple announces a new version of a product you just purchased but won't actually release it for more than 14 days, how can you possibly exchange the one you just bought? Is my only option to return the one I bought on the 10th (so return by 10/24) and then not have an iPad until the new one is available for purchase? Or would it make any sense to return the one I bought, get a new one, which would presumably have another 14 day return window, and then exchange THAT one for the new ipad mini w/ retina when it comes out (hopefully within that second 14 day window)?
Call the apple store you got it from and ask them. Sometimes in the past they've extended the 'no questions asked return' but only Apple can tell you for sure.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

12. Start using iPad -
Instead of copying images (jpgs, etc) from my iPad Mini to my desktop PC, I'd like to do the opposite, that is, copy existing images from my PC files to my Mini without going through a multi-email process which involves resizing the images by experiment.
I hope someday Adobe Lightroom can add this feature, but I'll settle for some simple transfer, perhaps by cable between my PC and my Mini.
Jim MohundroYou can do it via your computer's iTunes. If you are on iTunes 11 on your computer then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), which might make it easier to navigate and my instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos -
Setting up ipad mini, keep getting connected to itunes but it already synced
I already have an Ipad with everything set up in apple/itunes, so I got my daughter an Ipad Mini and while setting it up, I am restoring from Itunes back up. So it asks me to connnect to Itunes; hooked it up to my PC and synced it and gave it a new name, etc. But in the Ipad mini, it does not move from the "connected to Itunes" page...and it says it's not configured.
Am I missing something while setting it up?You should never setup an iPad you are giving a way. That is just looking for trouble for the recipient.
If the person donating the iPad wants to also donate Apps for it, you can wait until the Winner is chosen, and then have the donator Gift The Apps to the winner's Apple ID if they have one. Or create one for them on the spot and Gift the Apps that way.
Setting Up an iPad is part of the fun of getting one, why would you want to deprive the recipient of that?
Alternatively if you really want to you can choose to just give the sealed iPad to winner, with an itunes Card they can then redeem when they set it up.
Past that, there's no reason you should be opening the device, as that can make it harder to get a warranty coverage should anything happen. Since its already been opened, there's no way for the winner to be sure that any damage wasn't caused by you, and no way for Apple to confirm that and you can potentially get in more trouble than you need to.
Personally, a Device such as this should be kept sealed, and handed over ot the winner as if it were picked up at the store.
You probably mean well, but its just more trouble than it ultimately is worth. -
I have an iPad mini, I am connected to my work wireless connection. My printer also is on the same wireless network, however I am not able to print to my airprint enabled printer through this wireless connection. Is there a way to direct connect to the printer via a cable ?
I am missing something here on the connection. I am thinking possibly a firewall here at work will not allow me to use the airprint function. Help ?There is no support for wired printing.
It is probably a firewall issue, possibly where all inbound communications are blocked. Since you're at work, I'd call your work IT department and find out from them what you can/can't do. -
I have a slot machine app that I have played for a long time and have gotten to a very high level. I just recieved a I- pad Mini and when I downloaded the app on the Mini it started me back at the first level. Can I have in the mini the same level achieved on my phone?
Both iPhone and iPad mini using same Apple ID?
If yes use Game Center to launch game. First use on the IOS device containing the correct data by....
1. Open Game Center
2. Games at bottom screen
3. Select Game
4. Note ... Top right screen
5. Tough then play
Hopefully that work for you.
Game Center manages data across devices. -
I was excited to take my new Ipad mini on a trip...but...
My pictures look GREAT for the most part on the ipad but when I had them (many of them) processed, they are terrible. The colors are off and they are grainy. Does anyone else have this problem? There were some beautiful photos, taken in Portugal, but the prints are not beautiful.
Was it the processor or the ipad????
thanks,
lindaThere are some photo editing programs that might help. If you have a computer with software like Photoshop Elements 11 (the full one you would buy on line or in a store (cheap now on Amazon) or the Pixelmator app (for Mac) that's $14.99 in the the app store, or one of many others (gimp, for example which might be free? - I have no experience with that or other free editing apps) you can try to salvage the pictures. Some of them will require some reading on your part to get the hang of the program...
You could scan the pictures you developed into your computer or sync the pictures in your ipad with your computer, open them in Elements, for example, and try various ways to sharpen and fix the color in the photos. You can now enlarge pictures in Elements without losing pixels.
Check reviews on Amazon and google independent reviews of different photo editing software and see if you care to invest in one. If you do buy one somewhere other than the app store, buy the version that comes with the cd. They can now be used in more than one computer if you buy the boxed version. Elements now comes with software for both macs and pc's in one box.
Or see if a friend with a flatbed scanner and an editing program can help you. Also, places that develop photos often have full programs and for a charge, they might be able to help you. They probably cannot make them as beautiful as if you used a compact digital or dslr camera, but improvents can be made.
If you love to take pictures, I suggest you do a lot of research and buy at least a compact digital camera. Many good ones are not very expensive (and if you do buy one, only buy sd cards for the camera when they're on sale!)
Hope this helps. -
How can I change the sign in so they ask for my Apple ID, not my husband's. This is a new device.
Hi Marmee14,
If your Apps were purchased with his Apple ID, it will still require his Apple ID to update them. If they were purchased with your Apple ID then it will use yours. Apps are linked to the Apple ID they are purchased with.
If, for some reason his Apple ID is set somewhere in the system, this article gives how to change it.
Apple ID: What to do after you change your Apple ID
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5796
For example:
App Store
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, sign in with your current Apple ID.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID, tap your previous Apple ID and tap Sign Out. Then enter your current Apple ID to sign in.

New Ipad mini will not connect automatically to home WiFi network
I use a range of Apple devices at home, IPhone 4, MacBook Pro and IMAC.
They all see and connect automatically to my WiFi home network. I never experienced any difficulty with my DLINK router.
I have received a couple of days ago my new Ipad mini (Wifi+ cellullar), running IOS 602, but not equipped with a SIM card.
The device never connects automatically to the home WiFi network.
I need to open the Settings app, chose the WiFi submenu and select manually my "dlink" network. Then only can I work with my network.
I need to perform this each time I leave my home or I restart the device.
As I am experienced with Apple devices I noticed this behaviour right away and can confirm that the settings on the Ipad mini are the same as the ones of the IPhone 4. I am certain that this is a bug.
Any suggestion to overcome this major frustration?
