TS1362 Problem with songs stopping half way through

recently, some songs in my itunes library have been cutting off before they reach the end. It doesn't affect all songs and happens to both songs I have bought from the iTunes store and those I have ripped from CDs. Any ideas on how to fix this? \i am running a PC with Windows7.

  • Major problem: Songs stopping half way through and skipping to next song.

At first I thought it was an iphone problem, but then I noticed it was doing it on my 5th gen ipod. Ive also narrowed it down to only songs bought on itunes. Anyone have a solution?

I have the same problem with a handful of my recent (mp3) downloads from Emusic. It happens at the same spot in both ITunes and on my IPod (Generation 5). However, the files work flawlessly in Windows Media Player or even on my car stereo reading the mp3 from a burned CDRom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • ATV sync with iTunes stops half way through

I purchased a movie on AppleTV and it downloaded fine to the AppleTV. When I opened iTunes on my Computer it began to sync and copied about 50% of the movie across onto iTunes then stopped.
I have tried any number of times and it always does the same thing, stops 50% of the way through, so there's no copy on iTunes.
I'm afraid that if I do a full reset on the AppleTV, I'll lose the movie and as its not on iTunes, I'll never see it again.
    Any Suggestions?

Have had similar problems for months but (fingers crossed) appear to have fixed it in the last couple of days.
    Windows XP running iTunes 9.0.2
    BT Home hub router
    ATV firmware 3.0.1
Three ATVs, one connected wirelessly (close to router), one connected via ethernet cable, one connected wirelessly (long distance from router). Laptop running iTunes is connected wirelessly.
The first two ATVs worked fine, however the long distance wireless ATV would appear in iTunes for a couple of minutes, begin syncing and then permanently disappear. Restarting iTunes had no affect. Only rebooting the ATV would bring it back and then it would disappear after a couple of minutes again. When the ATV was not displayed in iTunes it still had an internet connection and could access the Apple Store, YouTube etc.
Each ATV and the laptop is assigned a static IP address via the router. The windows firewall has the following ports open for iTunes (TCP 3689, UDP 5353 and TCP 49152). I haven't seen 49152 mentioned anywhere else but on the odd occaission iTunes has produced an error message about this port being blocked.
Firstly, I don't believe the wireless signal strength displayed by the ATV. It always appears very strong but any laptop placed anywhere in the same room shows an almost negligable signal. I also noticed the ATV was regularly loosing it's connection with the router and then reconnecting. I installed some HomePlug (85Mb/s) mains Network adapters so the ATV had a better hard wired connection (although because of the distance this ran at about half speed). This improved the ATV connection with iTunes, it would now last around 60 minutes before it disconnected and needed rebooting (it was roughly the same length of time, every time).
I finally ran an ethernet cable directly from the router to the ATV and all the problems went away. The troublesome ATV immediately transfered two movies to iTunes which then transferred them to the other ATVs while iTunes transferred a further 300 songs onto the troublesome ATV. I finally have all three ATVs with a consistant connection with iTunes. No matter what order I turn the PC or ATVs off and on, connections are always reestablished and permanent.
Could the issue be the quality of the network connection?
I have since updated the ATVs to firmware 3.0.2 without any problems. I am reluctant to update iTunes to v9.0.3 as others have recently reported on this forum that it has caused previously funtioning ATVs to loose their connections.

  • I upgraded iTunes to version 11.0.5 but now it does not sync my songs properly.  Some songs are synced entirely, but other songs stop half way through.

I upgraded my iTunes software to version 11.0.5 but now it won't sync my songs properly, either on my iPod classic or on my new iPhone 4s.  The problem seems to happen with random songs: some songs will play through to the end, but other songs cut off part way through the song.  At first I thought my iPod was defective, but then it happened on my new iPhone 4s.  On my phone, I can see that the song is still playing, but the sound cuts off.  Can anyone tell me how to fix this?  Thank you.

This problem started last year when ios 8 was released. I think apple is trying to force users to buy music on iTunes store and that's why it's impossible to sync other music and also that's the reason why they haven't solved this serious problem. That's really disappoints me and i'm angry with apple because i have like 10 gb of music in mp3 and i can't sync music from iTunes to my iPhone.

  • Itunes purchased song stops half way through

I recently transfered my itunes library to a new Macbook 13 inch. It was tricky to do because my library was on an external hard drive. I did have to redownload some, but not all of my purchased content. Now many of my itunes purchased songs are clipped midway through the song when played. This is only happening to songs that I purchased in itunes. Any ideas as to how to fix this problem?  Thanks!

If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (check this with iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track (and the original file) and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).  See tips on downloading in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19097773, especially unchecking the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" box in the downloads tab of iTunes.

  • TS1362 On one purchased album some songs stop half way through.

Are these files corrupted? If so can I re-download working files?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library and then download again using the Purchased link in the right-hand column of the iTunes Store home page.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not available in your region contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.

  • Songs stopping half way through

I transferred all songs from old computer to a new one. My ipod video synced fine with the new computer. Our ipod mini synced also but a lot of songs will stop after about one minute of playing. It's mostly songs that we burned from cd's into itunes. Any ideas?? I have reset and restored several times and it hasn't solved the problem.

  • Songs and Videos Stopping Half Way Through

I've had my Iphone for 8 months and last week it broke i sent it to apple and they gave me a brand new iphone.
I syned it up and my songs and videos stop half way through and start the next song..
It did that on my old iphone also..
    It's very annoying.
Same with sometimes glitchy music videos that i've bought through itunes so I know it isnt codec related..

    Welcome to the forums.
You can fix the songs by simply converting to AAC -- I promise you this will work.
Videos could indeed be a coding issue -- the iPhone is pretty particular about what it will play and unless you encoded them yourself (using a quality program like Handbrake with the iPhone preset) your best bet is to reencode them.

  • TS1362 i have downloaded an album off iTunes and some of the songs stop half way they just go silent! should i buy the album again? or what can i do to fix it?

i have downloaded an album off iTunes and some of the songs stop half way they just go silent! should i buy the album again? or what can i do to fix it?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • HT201272 songs quit half way through playing and next song begins

I just downloaded an album and each song quits half-way through and the next song begins  playing on pc computer

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

Purchased album from iTunes. One track stops half way through & jumps to the next track on both computer & iPod.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".

  • My ipod stops half way through step 1 when I am syncing

I[od touch stops half way through step q which i backing up

I would try moving the existing backup to a safe place since there may be some corruption that is causing the problem.  The backup file is located hre:
The folder where your backup data is stored changes depending on the computer's operating system. Since iTunes only keeps one backup per device, you should ensure the backup folder is included in your periodic data backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7).
