TS1362 When selecting a song on my iphone, it skips ahead 2-3 songs and sometimes it does play. Can itunes be reset?

When selecting a song from itunes, its goes to a song i did not pick then it begins to scroll on its own.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

No, I haven't figured it out. And no one from Apple has contacted me to help. Very frustrating. Sure makes me want to not buy music on iTunes and just buy CD's.
Do you have a 3GS too? Maybe it's something with that phone??

(Note, mine says 28 days because I have been waiting for a fair bit for this to go away.)

You can't keep changing the ID you use with iTunes, you are limited to once every 90 days.

You can re-download from iTunes.
Go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go through all the tabs to download again for free

"Sounds like you guys are using the same apple id for imessage. You will need to create a separate id for you wife. OR go to settings - message - receive&send and make sure your phone number is the default for both you and yoru wife.

That means that the password you entered for your Apple ID was incorrect. This is the Activation Lock feature of the iPhone in action. Only the rightful owner, who knows the password for their Apple ID, can activate it. If you don't remember your Apple ID password you will have to reset it. Visit https://appleid.apple.com.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ and then click contact iTunes Store Support. Then find your issue in the categories and then it will most likely take you to a page with suggested things to do but also on this page should be an option to e-mail them. Just explain your problem and also have the names of the songs that you are having problems with listed in the e-mail so they can help you more quickly. They usually get back to you within 24 hours.

By "hard reset" you mean hold down the Home and power buttons until the iOS device restarts, correct?

Go back to iTunes, select the Music tab, uncheck the 'sync music; button, then hit apply.
