TS1363 having trouble syncing new 7th Gen nano to existing account

Trying to sync new nano to itunes library?

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62 and Windows 8.1.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

I can't get my new 7th gen nano to sync to my exsisting itunes. It keeps saying the ipod is not detected.

If youre like me, I have so many Apple devices, I always move things over manually rather than remember what to sync and what not to sync........ There’s an option to UNCHECK sync on any device if that helps you in ITUNES.
On any device, like your phone, in ITUNES you can check the option for manual vs. automatically sync.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • New 7th gen nano with Windows 8

I purchased a new 7th gen nano and iTunes will not recognize it.  I have followed all the steps in support but it still won't work.  Any ideas of what else to try?

Hi there  - I've spoken with Apple and here is their response (worked for me) - Windows 8.1 user, 7th generation nano. You need to uninstall not only iTunes, but also (in this order):
    1) iTunes
    2) Apple Software Update
    3) Apple Mobile Device Support
    4) Bonjour
    5) Apple Application Support
    Then you restart your computer.
Then you install the latest version of iTunes (which will reinstall all those things you uninstalled).
Then you restart your computer again.
Mine is working perfectly again now.
I hope it works for you,
    Carmen.

  • My new 7th gen NANO cannot be connected on either my Windows 7 or VISTA PCs. I have updated to ensure I have the latest iTunes version. When connecting I did not get the setup screens but the NANO assumed the identity of an older IPod. I have reset

I am having problems setting up a new 7th gen IPod NAN or both my Windows 7 and Windows Vista PCs. When first connecting I did not get the setup screens and cannot sync existing media. The NANO assumed the name of a previously installed IPod touch and resetting does not clear this name. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.updating driver software and resetting the NANO without any success

Purchased as new at Best Buy. As far as I know it was noever formatted prior to my purchase

  • I am having trouble syncing new songs to my ipad mini.  I tunes says 151 are on the ipad yet only 120 are on the actual ipad.

I am having trouble syncing my ipad mini with itunes.  I have done it before and no problem.  Now it lists that I have 151 songs on my ipad but there are only 120 on the actual ipad. The new playlists I tried to add are not on it.  Am I missing a step.

That alone does not mean the movies are in an iPad compatible format either.
    Copied from this link.
    http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.
Try this. With one of these videos selected in iTunes, at the iTunes menu bar go to Advanced and select Create iPad or Apple TV version. This will duplicate the selected video in an iPad compatible version. Select this version to be transferred to your iPad to see if this makes any difference.

  • OSX requirements for new 7th gen Nano?

I bought a new iPod Nano using the the system requirements listed on Apples home page as a guide. It states 'OSX10.6.8 or later' and 'iTunes 10.7 or later'.
I have an older iMac and can not upgrade my OS past 10.6.8. I also have iTunes 11.4 and don't think I can go any higher with iTunes &  OSX 10.6.8
The potential problem is in the Apple Nano manual. In system requirements is states 'OSX10.7.5 or later' and "iTunes 12.1.1 or later'
I spoke with Apple tech today and they said the manual was new (Sept. 2014) and they list higher OSX and iTunes system requirements but only because it was a newer manual??? WHAT!
If the Nano STILL only requires OSX 10.6.8 or higher then why does it now list a newer OX10.7.5? The person in Apple support could not answer that question. She thought it should work, but it will be rather difficult to return to Best Buy after removing the OEM packaging and trying to transfer music from iTunes on my iMac.
I know this iMac is getting old and will replace it at some point with a new OS, but don't want to buy a new computer just to load music onto a $150 music player!

    Thanks, deggie.........
I did use the Apple online store for my info and based my buying decision on this info, correct or not. I then got into the manual to get familiar with the Nano features and saw these conflicting minimum requirements for both OSX as well as iTunes versions.
I bought it from Best Buy, not the Apple store, and I have a feeling they might not be as easy to deal with for a return of a open / used iPod Nano that didn't work for me.
Hopefully the Apple Stores info is accurate and I will have no OSX or iTunes issues.
If anyone IS using OSX 10.6.8 & iTunes 11.4 with their 7th gen Nano I'd love to hear that!

  • TS1363 Once again having trouble with my 6th gen nano not being recognized in ITunes on my Windows 8 computer

Can't decide if the nightmare called Windows 8 is the culprit.  I'm reinstalling ITunes (for the 2nd time on this PC) and re-downloading all of my music to my computer. Hopefully I can get the new songs I purchased to show up on my IPod.  If not, time to go back to my 1997 discman.

  • My new 7th gen nano keeps pausing in the middle of songs

This is the second time I've had this problem. I just returned the other (new) nano to Amazon, and now this one (replacement) has the same problem. Could it be a computer virus? Other family iPods (not gen 7) play just fine.

Is the iPod motionless (like on a table) when you use it for the fitness class?  Is anything able to touch its screen or side buttons?
If you are connecting the iPod to an external speaker, does this problem ever happen when you are using your iPod normally, using your headphones?
It seems like the iPod is somehow getting the command to pause, even when you are not doing it intentionally.  That command can come from the screen, from the side (center) button, or from the cord.  If it's happening randomly, you may want to have the iPod checked, under warranty if it's less than one-year from purchase date.  If there is an Apple Store nearby, you can make a reservation at the store's Genius Bar.
NOTE:  There is also a feature called Shake to Shuffle.  It doesn't sound like that is being activated, but you may want to turn OFF that feature to see if it makes any difference.  I have it turned OFF, because it is annoying when it happens at "random" times when I move my iPod in a certain way.

  • Can someone tell me for sure if the Nike  footpod works with the new 7th gen nano?

I know that the nano can work by affixing to your hip and using the inbuilt sensor. I also realize that is not as accurate.
I am wanting to specifically know does the new iPod nano sync with the Nike + footpod sensor - and recieve data from that. I've seen a couple of reports that it doesnt. I've seen a couple of reports that it does. The manual is useless. The reviews that says it does, says the sensor is now built into the ipod nano to recieve the data from the footpod wirelessly.
Thanks for someone telling me for sure one way or another. I want to get one to run with, but I want to use the footpod and heartrate sensor.

Yes it does. This is from the user manual:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipod_nano_user_guide.pdf
I found this on page 54.
You can also use iPod nano with a Nike+ sensor or a Bluetooth heart rate monitor. Set up Bluetooth fitness devices in Fitness (see Setting Fitness preferences on page 34).

  • Having trouble syncing new shuffle with my itunes

This is getting really annoying, it keeps doing the autofill. I use it only to workout with, so I made a workout mix. On my 4th gen I have no problem setting it to only update certain playlists but I can't seem to do that with my shuffle. Is there anyway I can get it to stop doing autofill and just sync my workout list?

    YES.
Look carefully to the right of the Autofill button... it says "Autofill from:" with a button that's labeled Music but also has arrows (up/down) which if clicked on gives you a list of all playlists in the sources panel...

  • 7th gen Nano won't start

Brand new 7th gen Nano received as Christmas gift last week will not turn on, even after charging for 48 hours.  No exposure to water, moisture; was not dropped or crushed.  Help.  Thank you.

  • 7th gen nano syncs only certain songs, not my full library.  Ipad and old nano sync fine.  How do I get 500 songs v. 63?

7th gen nano syncs only certain songs, not my full library.  Ipad and old nano sync fine.  How do I get 500 songs v. 63?

**1. Separate these out first without deleting anything from i tunes libary?**
    iTunes:
Set up 2 iTunes playlist, one for songs & the other for talking books.
**2. Then simply transfer my 500 odd tracks of music to my new nano?**
Connect new iPod to computer & set it to manually sync.
Move your music playlist to Devices. Music will sync to your new iPod.
*3. Once all this done, delete songs (only) from the old nano just leaving my talking books?
    Connect old nano to computer.
Under Devices-Music: Start deleting all the songs including any song headings you have in the left column under Music. This will delete from the iPod yet leave your iTunes library intact.
Read the iPod nano (5th generation) - User Guide for other suggestions.
