TS1363 ipad not connecting to itunes....help
When I connect to itunes by a lead the ipad shows in the computer section but not on the itunes site so I am unable to synchronise. A question 'Trust this computer also appears on my ipad'. I confirm trust but it still does not show as connected. I have also tied a different lead.
I have also rebooted my ipad and and Computer and also reloaded the itunes programme to no avail. Diagnosis showas 'no ipad found.' Any suggestions please.

Thanks for response. I have uninstalled itunes and re-downloaded (13/5/2011). I did have the latest version previously.
New itunes loaded. I tried connecting ipad once itunes is open, but still itunes is not recognising IPAD. Ipad is connected to computer - visible still through Win Explorer.
It is noted once IPAD is connected "Autoplay" via Windows 7 opens up. Itunes is not listed as a default to open files.

Based on the numerous posts regarding iTunes and the App Store, there appears to be an issue at Apple's end. Although Apple has not provided any indication on the cloud status page.

Did you try rebooting your computer? Sometimes that can help you get started in situations like this. Did you launch iTunes on your computer as well?
Antivirus software can cause problems with PC's trying to connect to iTunes so you can try disabling your AV software and try again to connect.
You may need to restore. See the end of this article to restore.

My new iPad is not connecting to iTunes. When I insert the USB cable I hear the USB-connect sound of windows, but in iTunes nothing happens.
However my previous iPad and iPhone are connecting without any problems. I followed all the steps in the guide on the Apple Support page, including completely deleting and reinstalling iTunes. Nothing helped.

Can anyone help me and solve this problem of my new iPad not connecting to iTunes?I found a solution. It seems that Windows had a setting selected that drivers are not automatically installed if not available on the computer. So I changed this setting and my iPad was immediately recognized.
For people with the same problem: I went to: Control Panel > Devices and printers. Under Unknown I saw my iPad, so I right clicked and selected: Solve problems. Then it said something about missing drivers so I chose to install them. In addition the problem solve wizard pointed me to the setting in windows that drivers are not automatically installed. -

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -
just got a new iphone 5s and i am trying to get on the app store but it is telling me that not connected to itunes when i connect to itunes it was fine then went back to app store it is telling me sign in to itunes store so i do that with my apple id and password but is still isn't working help

iTunes and the App Store are two different apps/stores. I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. If you want to buy apps - go to the app store. If you want to but media - music, movies, TV shows - go to iTunes. -

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

My Ipad2 has a message: Ipad disabled connect to itunes. The trouble is I am out of the US now and cant connect to my my home mac or any computer it is synced with. What can I do? I cant even access the serial number to contact apple. Help!
Call Apple anyway. If the device was ever registered with then they will have the serial # on file and can look you up by other info such as your name or phone number.
To re-enable an iPad any computer with iTunes should work. However, if your data was not backed up to iCloud you will not be able to access it until you get back to your home computer. -

If you haven't connected your iOS device to this computer before, unlock the device and tap Trust. Learn more about the Trust This Computer alert.
Restart your iOS device.
Restart your Mac.
Make sure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Install software updates on your Mac.
If an iTunes update is available, apply the update.
Check USB connections. iOS devices need USB 2.0 to work properly. If you're not sure your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, check the computer's specifications.
Disconnect other USB devices and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
Try another USB cable.
