TS1363 My iphone 4S no longer Appears in Windows or in iTunes

I connected my iphone 4S to my Windows 7 laptop this morning, to chare my phone. itunes did not start, did all the diagnostic stuff i could think of. No success.
Looked on web for help, no success. My iphone no longer shows up in windows or itunes, (I have been using this iphone on this laptop for over a year with no problems)
After plugging and un plugging several times I got a windows error code 43 which appears to be a generic USB error code. So I looked in device manager and found there is a driver error. I tried to update driver with no success. I then went to Apples diagnostic tool followed it until I got a code that said 0xE8000065 unknown error. It then recomend to uninstall and reinstall itunes. The last time i did that I lost my itunes library and bricked my old 2nd gen ipod. Is there any way to download the offending USB driver that seems to have disappeared, or become corrupt? Thanks.

Problem solved. I needed to reinstall my Apple Mobile Driver. I found the solution on this web site.

After I reinstalled the driver, my iPohne immediately synchronized with my computer.

I've been searching everywhere for a solution to this problem. No one seems to be sure what to do. I've poured over the Apple Forums, Microsoft Fix It, etc. No good. Hopefully someone else has figured this out and can help me.
My iPhone 3G no longer appears in the My Computer area. When I connect, my photos are no longer downloaded to my Windows Live Photo Gallery. Everything is fine from the iTunes side...it syncs, music is fine, apps are fine. It charges just fine.
But I can't get the computer to recognize the camera side of things. In my Device Manager, there is an exclamation mark next to the iPhone under Portable Devices. I've tried uninstalling that and reconnecting.
I've tried working with the Apple Mobile Device Driver under Services, making sure it was started, restarted and set to automatic.
I found a guy here on the Apple forums who wrote:
1. Copy 4ea12.msi from C:\windows\installer\ to the desktop.
2. Right click on 4ea12.msi and select uninstall.
This will uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support.
Follow the instructions and close out.
3. Right click on 4ea12.msi on your desktop and select install.
This will reinstall Apple Mobile Device support.
Well, 4ea12.msi isn't even on my computer. I don't know what that means, but it's nowhere. I looked.
So, if anyone has a fresh approach that could help me, I'd be eternally grateful.

im having the exact opposite problem....my 3g is recognized inmy computer as a camera..but isnt recognized in itunes?
i have no pics downloaded from emails (as i researched this before)
the other night had same problem, had to restore phone, and re-install itunes..then no problem...but tonite trying to add new music and same thing again.
disabled iphone under imaging devices, and its only listed under usb controllers...computer recognizes it every time
there has to be a better way than restoring/reinstalling everytime?..has to be some little catch?

No I didn't. Someone suggested in another thread that my iPod was registering as a disk instead of a device, so if I removed my iPod as a disk on Disk Utility then it would reload etc. and show up in iTunes. Which it didn't, and instead just cleared all my music (16,000 songs).
So frustrating.
Hope if you have the same problem you are able to find a better solution!

I just tried it again and this time a different message showed up "The iPod 'name' cannot be synced. The required folder cannot be found." I have no clue what folder it could be talking about.

My ipod classic won't sync with itunes It appears in windows 7 and itunes even opens when the device is attached. Unfortunately the device doesn't appear in itunes and consequently won't sync. I have tried using the troubleshooter but to no avail and have also tried the suggestions in the help article TS1363, also to no avail! Performing the diagnostic in itunes reveals that the ipod is attached and performing correctly according to itunes but there is a problem syncing. I'm stuck as to what to do next! Help!

Sounds like your iPhone is locked to your home carrier.
See if they offer unlocking and if you qualify. Otherwise,
there is nothing you can do besides rent/but a cheap
phone for your month in Argentina.

I sync my iPhone with my MacBook Pro.
I installed the 3.1.2 firmware update today with a PC laptop running Vista that I haven't synced my iPhone with. I made sure the Windows laptop was running the current iTunes version, and before connecting my iPhone, I disabled automatic syncing when any iPod or iPhone is connected which is done via iTunes preferences under the Devices tab.
I took a risk and didn't create a backup for my iPhone when prompted. The firmware update followed by installing the AT&T carrier update was done without a hitch.
This is risky without having a backup (which I could have done beforehand) and without having any of my iTunes content available on the PC if there was a problem installing the update.
Do the same at your own risk. The worst would be not having any iTunes content to transfer back to your iPhone in the event you needed to restore your iPhone with iTunes on a different computer but if you allow iTunes to create a backup for your iPhone in advance, at least you could restore your iPhone from your newly created iPhone backup in the event of a problem.

Songs I have on iPhone now no longer appear with iTunes Match

I had some albums on both my Mac and my iPhone. Now with Match, the album doesn't appear on my iPhone—even though I manually had uploaded it.
Match also doesn't load up all my music: I have a mere 2,400 songs—and the last 100 songs have been a nightmare. Over 24 hours, and it still hasn't completed uploading them, even though I have high-speed internet.
Furthermore, how come playlists now appear on my iPhone—but there are no tunes in the playlist?

I have the same problem. I have over 1500 songs that I added from my CD collections, and another 1000 songs that are downloaded. The majority of songs have not "matched" - over 1500 show as "waiting" and now I cannot access most of the music from my iphone. I am so sorry I ever added iCloud!

Iphone 4S is not recognized by windows 7 after itunes 11 install

The driver will not install correctly for device, iphone 4s, after itune 11 is installed. The iphone is therefore never recognized by windows 7. I using the usb-iphone cable.

See this tip: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923. If you didn't use all of these steps to remove and reinstall iTunes you should do it this way. Note that the installation requires Administrator privileges to remove and install.
Also, if you are using a USB hub for the iPhone connection, try a USB port directly on the computer.

Why does my iPhone 4S no longer appear as a camera under windows XP

I have an iPhone 4S for about 6 months. I have taken many pictures and previously when I connected it to my PC runnng Windows XP pro, the iTunes application started and the "camera wizard" also started. With the camera wizard I could download any or all of my photos from the "camera roll". Today this no longer works. Is this because of the operating system upgrade in the iPhone (6.0.1 (10A523), or a setting in my PC which has changed? The iPhone also appeared as a reomvable disk (which contains only the photos in the "camera roll") This no longer shows, so it seems it is an iPhone problem, not a Windows problem. Any Suggestions?

I assume you've already seen this, but this is Apple's troubleshooting page on your issue: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538. In particular, if you haven't already done so, you might want to look through items 4-6 at the bottom of this (checking the Apple USB driver in device manager, 3rd party mobile phone and security software.
