PC and iTunes no longer recognize my iPhone 4?
Hoping someone can help as I'm completely at a loss and super frustrated.
My PC & iTunes no longer "see" my iPhone 4 when I connect it to my computer. I've tried all my USB ports- they all charge my phone, but it does not show up in device manager, etc. I have also tried updating iTunes, reinstalling iTunes, restarting my iPhone, completely charging iPhone before plugging in, restarting my computer a billion times, and making sure it is not conflicting with any security software. I've also gone into MSconfig and followed these directions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1275. Nothing has worked.
I am running Windows XP Media 2002 SP2. I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 6.1.3. I connected my phone to my computer back in January before updating to 6.1.3 and computer recognized phone just fine. Have not tried to plug in since, but now I really would like to pull the pictures off my phone and start fresh.. But can't.
Help?Have you tried connecting the phone to another computer? You can try to connect to another computer that has iTunes connected. Make sure that computer does not have iTunes set to automatically sync. After that, you should be able to import your pictures from the Camera Roll via the Scanner and Camera Wizard for older versions of Windows, or via the Import manager in the newer versions of Windows.
Have you checked to make sure your Windows is up to date? Is SP2 the latest update for that version of XP? While you say that you did connect to the computer some time in the past, the tech specs for the iPhone 4 show that Windows XP needs to be SP3. -
ITunes no longer recognizes my iPhone 4
I have had 3 iOS devices connecting to iTunes on Windows for more than 4 months. For some reason iTunes no longer recognizes my iPhone 4. My iPad and iPhone 4S still work as they should. Windows sees the iPhone 4, but it never shows up in iTunes. I followed the advice for getting services restarted in Windows, but since it's only one device that's an issue I'm thinking there may be an issue in the iPhone 4. Ideas?
try this, it worked for me...

Since I installed the last update, ITunes no longer finds my iPhone when it is pluged in my laptop. I can longer sync my calander and Outlook!
Why is that and can this be fix?DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED IN ITUNES
If you have connected your device to your computer and it does not appear in the side bar in iTunes then for Windows computers read http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 or if you have a MAC then read http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1591 for troubleshooting steps. -
For years I have been able to share all my audio files between my phone, pod, & iPad. Since iCloud and Match, iTunes no longer transfers mp3 files that it sees as not music. When I do plug in my iPhone and iPad, iTunes no longer reads my iPhone and iPad as a device. How can I get my mp3 files that are teaching tapes back on my mobile devices?
Respectfully,

Hy there,
In order for you to solve this problem you have to follow these stept if your running windows:
1'st step is to go into the device manager
2 step is to go to portable devices (it is rught under network adapters)
3 step is to right clic apple iphone and click update drivers
4 step is to brows your drivers from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
After that your itunes will pump up alown and youl see your iphone right there.

ITunes no longer recognises my iPhone 4s
iTunes no longer recognises my iPhone 4s phone shows that it is being charged but does not show in devices list in iTunes am unable to sync. Have tried trouble shooting suggestions with no joy??? any help would be appreciated
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to the computer, not plugged into a hub.
If that doesn't do it, try running through this Apple doc -> iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows -

ITunes no longer launches when iPhone connected
Hello all:
My ITunes no longer launches automatically when I connect my IPhone.
IPhoto does, but not ITunes. However, once I open it, it connects with my phone and syncs it without an issue.
I just want it to auto-launch for syncing.
I've read a few posts about this, but have not seen a clear answer yet.
The following settings on my phone and laptop are correct (I think):
--ITunes>iPhone>Summary>"Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" checked
--ITunes>Preferences>Devices>"Disable automatic syncing for iPhone and iPods" is unchecked
I noted in one previous post about this that someone mentioned the necessity of having "ITunes Helper" installed in your Login Items, in your Account prefs, in order to have ITunes auto-launch when the iPhone is connected. I do NOT have this app, nor can I find it anywhere on my computer.
Is this the problem? If so, is ITunes Helper available somewhere?
Hoping for an answer; I've noticed that a lot of posts on this subject have not gotten responses, and wondering why.

Find iTunes in your applications folder. Right-click (control-click) on iTunes and select "Show package contents". Look in the "Resources folder" for iTunes helper. Drag it into your Accounts -> Login items list. Restart your Mac. -
My itunes no longer recognizes my iphone
I have a 3G iphone - and have had no trouble synching with my computer until yesterday. Itunes no longer lists my iphne in the left hand column, even though my computer(Windonws) recognizes the device. Any suggestions or help? It woudl be appreciated!
Thanks Jason, I will give it another shot and let you know how it turns out. This is the most helpful reply I have seen so far, nothing has even mentioned the AppleMobileDevice extension/receipts. Even iSync will not recognize the iPhone either. I suspect it has to be something in iTunes that is wiggy. Just noticed some weird sync issues with my AppleTV in the past few days.

ITunes no longer "sees" my iPhone 4
I just upgraded iTunes to 11.1.4.62 (latest version) on Windows 8.1. Since doing this, iTunes does not "see" my iPhone 4.
I've tried the following:
- signing out and signing back in to iTunes
- deauthorizing all computers and reauthorizing the PC I'm working on
- uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes
- shutting down and restarting my PC
- shutting down and restarting my iPhone 4
iTunes does not "see" my iPhone automatically or if I launch iTunes and then connect my iPhone.
Any thoughts?
Thank you,
JeffHelp that came up after I posted had a solution: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

Itunes no longer opens with iphone
Now running itunes 8.0.2 and iphone 2.2 - somewhere in the middle of this upgrading itunes stopped auto opening when connecting the iphone despite all the correct boxes being ticked. Antoher thread suggested reinstalling itunes - this did work - once - now exhibiting same lack of cooperation. Sync ok if I manually open itunes.
Anyone any ideas please - is v. annoying?

TS1363 itunes will not recongnize my iphone why?
its not recongnized in itunes or windows
Keep in mind, the new iTunes is in a different format. To revert to a more familiar format:
In the top menu bar in iTunes, select
1. View
2. Show sidebar
Is the device now on the more familiar left hand pane or still not recognized?

As of iOS 8.1.1, iTunes no longer sees my iPhone at all.
I download new music on my computer regularly, and thus, sync my iTunes library to my iPhone regularly. As soon as I updated my iPhone from iOS 8.1 to 8.1.1, iTunes on my computer was no longer able to see my iPhone at all. The first time I tried to sync after updating, I noticed that my iPhone did not appear in iTunes as it always had. I thought I had turned off wifi on the phone, but that was not the case. I have not been able to get iTunes to find my phone via wifi since then. Next, I tried to plug my phone into my computer with an Apple lightning cable. This charged my phone, but my phone still never appeared in iTunes. I get a message on my phone asking me if I 'trust' the computer that the phone is connected to (despite the fact that these two devices have been syncing regularly for about 2 years now). I press 'yes,' and that does nothing. The next time I plug it in, it asks me the same thing again. I have made sure both OSs and iTunes are up to date, and have restarted both devices. Everything else seems to be working fine. It's as if the iOS 8.1.1 update is somehow prohibiting iTunes from recognizing / communicating with my iPhone.
iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.1, never jailbroken
MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008), OS X 10.10, running iTunes 12.0.1.26I'm having the same problem, but on a Windows 8 computer. I've literally done everything to try to rectify this problem, including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes on several different occasions, wiping my phone clean, and changing around the drivers several times. I have a feeling it's not iTunes' fault since I can connect my mother's iPhone 6 to the computer just fine. Everything was fine until the 8.1.1 update dropped and now everything's gone wrong.
